Syfa (or Sypha according to some translations) from Castlevania III? Yeah, she is a girl. She was disguised as a guy throughout the game; however, if you completed the game with Trevor and Syfa, during the ending scene/credits, Syfa's hood falls, revealing she's a girl, and she and Trevor hold each other as the castle crumbles in the distance.
Just played this for the first time today and was surised about how good it looked. The enemy design wasn't varied and the controls were stiff, but I wish I had played this as a kid because I know I would have loved it.
I own this game and I love it. Today, I own it on EMU, but that same feeling remains me playing whit PS2-controler USB add-on. Even today I don't know how to do double jump, but hacking skills are bigger part of the game. One of my all time favorite game to NES. 5/5
As far as fighting those dark knight bosses, and a lot of other fights for that matter, hit and jump backwards. Much faster then walking backwards.
