This unit seemed like a complete mess. And from what I saw in this video, they were moving at a snails pace.
It seems like they would never utilize all their vehicles simultaneously and would only use minimal efforts in the attack. I think there is a severe lack of leadership in this assault and it could of been handled much better.

That's the way it is and always has been.Civilians are always gonna die in war because you cannot defeat an enemy if you cant bomb their industry and economic centers freely.World War 2 was the last total war,a war of literal devastation to civilians,but a war that could only have been won that way.They didnt have the space age warheads of today that we have.There were no jet fighters or satellites,all operations were conducted with only maps and aerial photographs that were not even in color.

I lived through 9/11 and have developted an exceeding hatred for terrorist methods. As long as anyone harbors terrorists there is no way i can agree with them. I don't particularly trust Russia, but i don't hate them either, i do hate terrorist activity though.

The United States did not have enough evidence for the Taliban but it is still clear that Bin Laden was responsible. That being said, don't get the wrong idea, I'm not a supporter of the war in Afghanistan. I'm just saying that the Taliban are to blame for their own downfall.

@GrimmjowProduction Pakistan was not a close partner of ours, and never has been. We had to bribe them with billions of dollars just to let our trucks through to supply operations. What the Taliban did was offer Bin Laden for an Islamic style trial in which they would judge him, and only after they had been on their last legs. Bush might have been a lot of things, but he wasn't a fool when it came to talking to the enemy.

This unit seemed like a complete mess. And from what I saw in this video, they were moving at a snails pace.
It seems like they would never utilize all their vehicles simultaneously and would only use minimal efforts in the attack. I think there is a severe lack of leadership in this assault and it could of been handled much better.
It makes no sense as to why a unit like this would just be sitting there all day and doing nothing. It seems like a complete waste of a day.

Russians did strike the first blow. It wasnt just against the chechens. It was against the adyghe, dagestani, and several other people. Because the Caucasus was strategically important the Russian empire believed that it was worth committing genocide against the adyghe and then proceeding to kick them out of the Caucasus. Chechens and the other natives also suffered similar punishments. Even though the governments change the people stay the same. Russian mercy my ass.

I was stating that the hatred of russians by people of the caucasus region was because of the atrocities committed against them by the Russian empire which were then continued against the chechen people in the two chechen wars. @52111centrumcz The last few western journalists allowed into Chechnya documented the taking of young boys (over puberty) and any men that they'd find in sweeps who looked to be of fighting age. Most of those boys and men arrested NEVER reappeared again to their families. So yes, ethnic cleansing did take place for certain. The only way to survive was to allign with one of the Pro-Russian Chechnyan leaders and then they'd face getting their heads cut off by the Islamists.

Either way, nothing changes the fact that the Russian Army DID do ethnic cleansing of males of fighting age in any village suspected of being aligned with the Chechen rebels. It's been well documented by many different international human rights groups.

I don't trust his story. After that Americans concentrated on Georgia to capture/kill Al-Qaeda.
