i copied the same exact setup as draven and mrmrtmustang. everything the same and cant get past 81mph. there must be a little white lie like bearings. i cant even get close to 100mph. motor doe snot get close to warm thou so might be the gearing. but i have the same gearing as them. were u able to get it faster?

@freds2k, good question. I would say it may have something to do with the MA cells you are using. In my experience they don't or can't deliver the current you need. Try Hyperion G3 EX cells to establish your benchmark - you will be amazed at what proper cells will give you. Warm them to about 140f & give them a quick peak charge at the same time, install them just before you run & make the first run the fast one...no warm up passes

@freds2k im in the same boat i got 87 with mines i think it areodynamics, i know the motor has the power i think the drag from the air flow is holding the car back. I definitely dont think MrMrtmustang isnt doing 100 he doesnt have any vids of him doing anything but talking. But i think drag is whats killing my speed run

@LilJay2003, MrMrtmustang also believes he can do 135 - I think you can ignore pretty much everything he says. Aerodynamic drag is a significant issue, as is the running surface, as is the ability of the cells to deliver the current...it's not as easy as has been presented

@deniz11muis1 Personal preference bro. all about what u like. All 3 very differnt from one anouther. Alot of all 3 out there. I think the rustler and slash are more enjoyable, also the stampede (which im a proud owner of ) a good 2nd truck would be the revo. U can do a ton more in terms of custom with the slash and rustler. the revo comes hard to improve on its design. Not much u can do to them besides add shiny pieces.

@Joester1908, just 6S2P, 25C x 5000mah Flightmax cells. The motor is a Neu 1515 1.5d (with a Mamba Monster ESC) & geared 34/25. How's the XL5 transmission holding up to the VXL?

@dory1260 oh cool. Id like to get a Momba esc and motor. I have heard they are powerful. I donno what gearing i have because it was so long ago but i did redo it. I put faster gearing in it and it stripped out he gears so i had to upgrade to metal. But yes its a good thing i did because the VXL motor would have distroyed those little plastic gears. And i locked the rear end up and the power from the Velineon just grinded them to pieces. I have gone through 3 sets of gearing in the diff i guess

@Speedfreakguru, the Jaco's are a 12mm hex, I believe you need 17mm...I'd look for GRP M01 Rally Tyres, they're belted (so no ballooning), super sticky & incredibly hard wearing. They are capable of well over 100mph

@fondled, I'd stick with the stock springs & slide some fuel tube onto the shafts like this monster.traxxas.com/showpost.p­hp?p=3860858&postcount=3, then just tweak the height with the length of tube & after assembly using the stock spring spacers
