  • i was born with external hydrocephalus.

  • Nice song and video - compare it with the anti-depleted uranium jihad's continual misuse of hydrocephalus as a way to draw people to their cause. The two photos that are most commonly used supposedly come from Iraq; that has not even been proven, but what is known is that DU has nothing to do with hydrocephalus. Help fight this dastardly use of hydrocephalus. Thank you.

  • My dad has hydropcephalus and it would be a dream to have no hydracephalus or a cure I'm tired of him being in pain :'(

  • i have hydro, and have had surgery 6 times since 2010.

  • @Rubix4Life 6 procedures in the past year???!!! oh you poor baby.

  • I have had Hydrocephalus since weeks after i was born. I lost one friend because of it. I am 15 now and want to see this cured

  • when is hydrocecphalus month?

  • @alb500 Its in September, if u havent found out yet...

  • 7 people have no heart.

I have Hydrocephalus, living 15 somewhat normal years with two shunt replacements. This song gave me hope for those not as fortunate and healthy has I am. <3

  • I never knew there was a Hydrocephalus month. Great song. Never heard it before. I was born with Hydrocephalus. A few complications & replacement shunts (i've got 2 in now) Still enjoying life 30 years old.

  • @sparkylons The song is a different version of "Imagine" by John Lennon. It's one of the greates songs of all time!!

I was born with Hydro also, but I'm almost 46

  • I have Normule pressure Hydrocephalus just been diagnosed July 1/7/2011 i am having my operation next week an ETV Surgery i am 23 years old

  • Am I the only one afraid of finding a cure? I mean, I can't really complain because I haven't had very many complications, but I was born with it, so it's the only thing I know. I'm used to living my life around it. Also, the fact about the government spending less than 10 dollars per affected person just broke my heart. Okay, so it's not cancer, but it still can be fatal and people still struggle with it. And sure, it's not as well known, but it's not really fair to those who do have it.

  • @luvATL4ever exactly! What does "cure" mean I have lived with Hydrocephalus my entire 32 years I know nothing else! To me the cure is the shunt!

  • i have hydrocephalus and this video made me cry so much :(

i can't wait for the day with no hydrocephalus

  • I love the idea of this video, but I have to say this song is awful. I get the intent- but ugh. It's one of those songs that shouldn't be messed with.

  • my sister has hydrocephalus and her parents think that now her natural tubes have taken over and her shunt doesnt work any more is there a chance that she will get it again?

  • I too was born with Hydrocephalus and the doctor though that i would die and Its hard to be normal I try but I just want a cure. I pray to God everyday telling him to help me through this difficult time. Thank you for understanding my pain, my parents pain and the pain of others going though this as well

  • I have birth hydrocephalus too and yeah it's such a strange feeling being normal and different at the same time... Now I'm 30 and looking for a baby but afraid he borns the same way u.u

  • @elvirarc

  • Makes me shed tears for those of us who deal with this condition day in and day out...WE ARE FIGHTERS!!!! DON'T YOU FORGET THAT!

  • i have Hydrocephalus..

but this song made me cringe so much. :/

  • @GETKNOWNx I hear u. I have Hydrocephalus too and I say for everyone with the same condition when I say...FIND S CURE FAST. I pray for u all. :'(

  • @GETKNOWNx but Honey, why? i have it as well....

  • @SweetBrwnSuga

    cos it's horrible. :/

  • Thanks for sharing this video, I'll definitely share it. Great lyrics. Hope this raises lots of support for more research.

  • After a brain tumor removal, I ended up with a serious csf leak a shunt was put in to take the pressure off of the leak site. Well after several shunt revisions a shunt that was stuck by scar tissue in a ventrical was removed and caused a hemorrhage... Weeks after I suffered my first hydrocephalus symptoms, head ache, vomiting, confusion and sunset eyes... I am now dependent on a VP shunt and I have Hydro... Great video It speaks volumes....

  • If you know someone affected by hydrocephalus, please share this video in honor of National Hydrocephalus Awareness Month via Facebook, Twitter, or email. We need to raise awareness and you can help.

  • @lpoliski1 I have hydrocephalus, and I haven't had any surgeries since 6th grade, all thanks to Dr Edwards! I am going to make an even cooler video soon!

  • My son is 4 and was diagnosed with hydrocephalus at 9 months has had 2 operations since than. He went 18 months before he needed the shunt revision. I wish that more info out there about hydrocephalus like there is for other birth defects. We have been told that because of where his blockage is he will always have to live with a shunt but I still pray to god that this a break thru

  • Whether you like the song or not is not the message in this video, it's about the lives young and old that are affected by this condition. As a spouse of someone with hydrocephalus I hope the message spreads that Shunts are not the answer but a temporary fix, my husband has underwent 9 surgeries in 7 years including a third ventriculostomy that closed back up.

  • Love this! Shunt depentant since birth. One of the lucky ones whose shunt works w no side effects!!! Hugs fellow hydro buds!

  • @remedyke1 I had a shunt put in when I was 13. It failed, and I slipped into a coma. I had a 3rd Ventricularostimy, and I have been Shunt free for 16 years. I try to educate as many people as I can about Hydrocephalus, and I am glad you do not have any side effects.

  • @asdfjbk my last year of shunt surgies I was 14 and had 4 operations. One of which my shunt had blocked and I had a grand mal sezure from that. I'm so glad you are ok after slipping into a coma. I have a VP shunt.

  • @remedyke1've had just the two operations and, knock on wood, will ONLY have just the two. I hope your last surgery is truly your last. I know too many people who have revision after revision.
