This was such a sad episode, it really tugs at the heart. Norman wasn't a psychopath like so many, he just snapped because of his daughter's death and overall unhappiness. The moment he realizes they're gone.. ."Oh. . but they were. . .they. . " then he breaks down. I think when the mother and daughters laugh when he says he's the killer is when we know for sure something isn't right, and the flashes to him in his daughter's room
Lol Reid navigating and giving directions to Morgan is like how I navigate and give directions to my mum whenever we're driving in an unfamiliar city. : P
@lululover333 I do too, he wasn't a monster psychopath like so many, he was pushed over the edge by a tragedy and an unhappy life, he was sick more than anything, and needed help.
That wife is a bitch, them kids are bitches. It wasn't the guys fault that hi daughter died. It' not like he threw her in the middle of the road. I actually felt bad for him.
I don't think that the wife and daughters actually blamed him. In the end chase scene, they were obviously hallucinations. He was probably projecting his own guilt that way. He blamed himself. I don't think that any of the images we saw of his family were true to life. He felt powerless because his youngest daughter died while in his care. His grief from that, compiled with his guilt, manifested into a psychotic break.
@TheBansheila True. But his wife and daughters obviously held no respect for him prior to his youngest daughter's death. They're disregard for him over the years lowered his self-esteem and fueled his contempt. The death of his youngest child, the only child who didn't ridicule him, was the stressor that turned him into a psychotic killer. I actually felt bad for this guy....
@00Kimochi00 Good point. They didn't show it, but the youngest could have been the only one to really accept him for who he was. That was an awful thing to happen, seeing his child hit by a car, right before his eyes. I can see how any parent might have a psychotic break because of it. While that is no excuse, I can understand it. I feel bad for him, too. This is one of the only UnSubs that I have really felt anything but dislike for. Him and the guy from the episode True Night.
@TheBansheila I agree, but not sure if "accept" is the right word. The two girls were teens so in all likely hood were at the stage we're they probably did think their parents, esp their dad was a geek. Jenny was much younger so looked up to him. We never see the daughters while alive so we don't know if anyone blamed him, but I don't think it was as bad as he thought, but he probably did blame himself even if it wasn't his fault. He's nothing like most unsubs on the show who are psychopaths
In this one at the end Morgan just kinda seems like a dick..how rough he is with the unsub when the guy is on the ground crying. Usually when that happens he is just really nice with them
I think the team learned in this episode, that there may be thousands of people dying each day, but there is a whole new thousand babies born each day... :) love the ending... <3
Liked Mitch Pileggi as a villain. For those of you who don't know him, he was the assitant director of the FBI in the series X files. A very good actor.
I'm a little confused: When supposedly did he kill his family? Was it right before the car chase? Or is it literally before they even got the case (as Rossi says) and he's been imagining them there through the entire episode?
@KOMalley76 yeah i'm pretty sure rossi is right, it looks like he kills them the same day he killed the first woman, the night of his wife's party. the team doesn't get called in until he already killed 3.
nothing.i mean he needs help.this one maybe just a series but i ve heard every single episode is based on true facts.anyway true or not we all know there are been similar and much worse crimes.poor and ineffective judicial system of usa.also here in greece
this is way the crazyest episode ever.i mean what a pitty for the father who went insane after all that blame it had been put on him.so much preasure and offense to deal with.that wife and not only her made him feel guilty.she even orders him about the tie.in cases like this it is not clear who is to put in jail.i mean certainly not only the who pulls the trigger.liability is relevant almost in any case.i tottaly feel for the unsub.lock him up would do
I feel bad for the unsub and his kids... but his wife kinda deserved it. It wasn't his fault his daughter got hit by a car. It's the one who was driving it like 80 mph.
@princessAeilita No, I think I'm right. I mean, she only blamed him while they were in the car, and we later found out that his family were in fact dead, and that he was only imagining them being there in the car with him. Not to mention that he thought his buddies at work also said stuff about him all the time.
I think his wife is really stupid that ahe isn't letting him wearing that tie with the cars on it, whil it's obvious that it's his faverourite tie. I actually love the tie.
Anyone else feel like when Hotch is telling someone off he sounds like a really strict father talking to his teenage kid? The way he grabbed Todd like that and pointed a finger whilst saying "this is not the time or place" totally reinforced that.
@Nadesiko85 pity is in the heart not the mind. sometimes we feel for the person, not the acts. if anything i think there is something right with you. it means that you are more human.

@jasperxalicecullen Yes! This episode was really hard for me to watch because I feel kinda of sorry for him... What he did is no right, but I still feel sorry...

@spiderwickfan123 No, as you can see from his delusion in the car, they all blamed him.
