  • Wow,the B52's and B29's of the USAF did a good job of reducing Pyongyang to rubble during the Korean War

  • pyongyang will never die :)

  • Do a search on "Kim il sung" all you get is propaganda saying how great he was. The evil sick mass-murdering extremely cruel despotic totalitarian dictator's legacy lives on, and North Korea is still the cruelist most evil place on Earth. Millions are starving, brainwashed to death, and suffering the unimagineable nightmare equivalent of George Orwell's psychological horror novel "1984" brought to life in full gruesome colour 3-D actuality.

  • the surface railway and the town sight looked remained influenced on by japan.

  • USSR lean the hand just after the Korea War. Most of the building enginneer are from USSR. Yes, North Korea have stronger economy because of trading with all communist nations.Sometime in 80's, South Korea have better and stronger economy than North Korea. North Korea have not recovery the TRUE economy since end of war. The fall of USSR have completed cut-off all products to North Korea in 90's and North Korea put on to cutoff from the world.

  • Sounds like it's narated in Russian. What exactly is Juche? I've read about it, but I don't really know what it means.

  • It's Russian

  • @bjr43 It's basic definition is doing everything yourself with no help whatsoever

  • The narrator sounds Russian to me.

  • rong riv de grate reeder kin el jing an de grate peepers ho riv en de nort korerer.

  • 김일성훌륭한 남자는!!!!!

  • North Korea had a stronger economy than South for decades. When its main trade partners disappeared in the 90ies things began to worsen. Or what would happen if your country had noone to trade with anymore? Where would you get the oil from? How would you fuel cars and tractors?

  • I would probably try to find new partners for trade or reconsider my political views which keep me from trading with countries that are not communist.

  • Yes, but there´s a cruel international embargo that no country but the communist ones are allowed to trade with North Korea, and China is the only one with good economy.

  • they didnt want to trade, learn history

  • Everything went well because NK was one of many countries that drained USSR's resources by selling cheap raw materials for unreasonable prices and huge military aid. Please note that NK's economy went into stagnation after Brezhnev came to power in the USSR - coincidence? After that reunification by using military force before Great Leader's 70th b-day was out of question.

  • Did pretty much happen to Sweden during WW2, we used wood gas to power cars/tractors. We also used shale oil for a while. However after/during WW2 pretty much every country rationed everything. And NK has far to little energy resources to use, they destroyed their nature by felling to many trees etc. It's understandable that NK had this kind of collapse. However S.Korea surpassed them before the collapse.

  • @IlyZor North Korea is a failure. Look at the south now. The companies, Samsung, LG, Panasonic, and KIA, those are household names.

  • This is in Russian!

  • the north korean government has the food, money and equipment to give houses, money, food, cars, education and hospital serivce to all like any other government. our government though limits it though sometimes either so markets don't over expand or to maintain some political popularity. north korea however would rather throw the crap in the river then give it to their people.

  • It's pretty sad that Pyonyang was more alive suring the orean war than it is today. Hopefully that fat little pig Kim dies soon.

  • They had more cars riding around in Pyongyang in this video then they do now thanks to thanks to Kim Il Song and his fat pig son

  • Becoz the roads here are not as wide as today. Pyongyang today hase 12 lane wide roads compare to 50's 60's and 70's

  • What year is this? Anyway, there seem to be more cars in the streets than nowadays.

  • It's late fifties after the Korean war
