  • So, when you said that you recieved 3 nos I thought to myself 'i should really stop getting exicited every time this guy has good news at the end of his videos', now you have more good news, and i'm excited for you again. But it's looking like you don't post videos unless you have good news, so....

  • Just read an article on GQ that talks about branded material...I'm surprised they didn't mention your personal struggles in moviemaking due to it.

It's titled "The Day the Movies Died" and it goes into the messy histroy of it all.

  • Bullshit. BULLSHIT! Also, didn't they already make a smurfs movie? ....avatar?

  • watching this makes me wanna cry :( im so messed up and confused about being a film major :(:( ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh BRANDED MATERIAL CAN SUCK IT!!

  • what do you use to edit

  • I use final cut pro. Why?

  • OK. Now I'm hooked. This is VERY interesting. I've been thinking about going into filmaking to express my love for writing. What's up with Hollywood and being trendy? From what I'm hearing, I'd rather see your film than Gargamel.

  • No harm in getting rejected! Its how u deal with it!

  • the embarrassment of having to tell YouTube that you haven't done anything in a month seems to be a good motivator

  • You know what's gonna get you to where you are going with some dignity in tact, is the personal attention you give to your project, your youtube video and now - since you became famous - your fans...Just keep on being YOU...

  • He's rich!!!! I can't stop watching... but I think there's only one left. Wow. Keep going. I want to see this movie. And Hollywood is so lame. Everything is branded, they just don't know it.

  • Kudos for making these tell-it-like-it-is vids! The entertainment industry can be one of the most mysterious and elusive to navigate. But step by step good things can happen!

    : )

  • heh yeah best of luck dude. i want to become a filmmaker myself but i want to learn how to do it with my college classes. just curious but how do you deal with procrasination? that's my biggest problem. p.s.: ironically, a Smurfs movie IS actually in development

  • Smurfs are really going to be a movie? NOOOOOOOOOO!!! I better get my movie off the ground before I see those friggin' smurfs on the big screen!

College classes are a great resource. Regarding procrastination...that's a tough one. When you really love to do something, it's hard NOT to do it. One thing you can do is help someone else who is excited about a different project. Commit to help that person and he will hold accountable. Just a thought. As for me...these vids help me.

  • Hollywood? Good luck. Winning powerball and getting through to Hollywood are almost the same. Hahahahaha. Big dreamer.

  • i believe in you man! i'm a film student now! and at least you're trying. its a long hard road but one day you'll make it big :)

fuck those hollywood snobs. but maybe you can do an indie flick so you can create a fan base? then maybe your next movie can be hollywood? hang in there and keep smiling your vdos are awesome!

  • Hey I have been trying to contact Tyler Perry he is willing to help the underdog. How can we get his address? Someone out there help us get Tyler Perry's address. He is really talented and helpfull to newcomers.

  • Okay I am trying my best to make a movie of my Suspense Novel. How much does it take to make a movie? We need to invest in our own story, hire Actor's and Actresses that are willing to get a low salary. There's got to be an answer for this dilema.

  • That's what sucks about Hollywood studios, they use to take a chance on up and coming film makers and projects in the 90's. But now they are to chicken shit to give something new without it being branded. That's why the internet seem to be the only place where original and new content can be shown to the world, without the bullshit of big studio. The studios are feeling the Internet's power from the masses who believes new and not Branded is better.

  • That sure is a depressin of an artist man :.s but ten after loool. U looked like Kung lao from Mortal kombat with the punch.

  • Hey good luck on your dream. Your humor is great..never stop dreaming. Its right when we are about to give up that things happen.

  • Hey man, just wanted to wish you the very very best of luck with your project. You'll look back on these videos with a huge smile one day! Hugs, respect.

  • Great series. Best of luck with your project man.

  • Keep it up man! Please post an update post-Rich conversation when you get the chance. This is inspiring!

  • Sure thing! Post-Rich conversation is on its way!

  • Congrats on all the attention!

  • Hello, how about teaming up with Happy Slip? You could help each other on some bigger projects, maybe. You would be better than KevJumba.

  • Kendall from fuge here. Glad to see that smiling face again. keep it up you freakin' genius.

  • DA-DA-DUMMMM!!!! This is the dramatic twist in the movie when two worlds (once distant) collide. You're the genius, dude! It's not a dinosaur battling a camera though.

  • I like you style; sense of humor.

It reminds me of a video I did, but only better.

  • Your situation is like the same thing happened to Hayao Miyazaki when he started to make "Nausicaa from the Valley of the Wind". Producers did not want to film it until the comic was produced first. It sucks, but I see the point to that. The hurdle for any endeavor yours is always the accountant.

  • Um, typo error. I meant was "the hurdle for any endeavor LIKE yours is always the beady eyed accountant."

  • Thankfully...I now have one of those on my side! (heh...heh...heh). Who is he? He shall be revealed in due time. You are right and thanks for the props!

  • well man come to the philippines!.... we got many indie film makers here...they even got to compete in new york film festivals....they are winning awards...... come here show your stuff to gma network or abs-cbn the 2 largest tv station here....basta maraming indie film maker dito matutulungan ka nila...

  • You know, I've been stuggling to get my projects off the ground as well and I realize that Doubt is the biggest drain of my energy.

So now, I simply take a deep breath, align with my heart(which is my passion) and begin gain.

    Simplicity.

    Nina

  • Can you send me the script, guy? I'm really interested:D

  • Can't right now. I will reveal it in due time. I'm glad you're interested. SO AM I!!!

  • Yes...indeed! I've studied a lot of shorts on your site! You guys are top notch! We'll definately keep in touch!

  • good luck man! waiting to see it on the big screen! you can always come to aniboom ;)

  • The suspense is killing me.

  • Killing me too, man.

  • I think this confessions of the filmmaker is your product :P

  • You read my mind!

    Lol

  • Hey, ur videos will really help me in the near future cause i write a novel at the moment which is a great idea to turn into a script.

i know that studio guys are strange but you really scared me with all that... lol.

by the way, they do branded, remake or sequel cayse they are out of good ideas.so i think they need us more than they show.

i think that if you got something really good, things must be easy... should be... or not? what you think?

  • It's never easy unless you know people. And even if you know people, your stuff has to be ready. So much timing and luck, you know. And you are right...they do need us so don't give up!!!!

  • ohhhh i won't give up my friend... though my artistic expresion is coming out of me as novel writing (and not a script)... it is a very good matterial to turn into a movie. i'll wait to see your next video... you seem to be in good point at the moment... keep going...

  • Independent Filmmaker!! Love Love Love the posts. Most creative and entertaining on YouTube. Keep plugging away. You WILL get there.

  • I just stumbled upon your 'confessions' - very cool. I have been in the video industry for almost 9 years, still trying to figure out what my passion is. Your posts have inspired me to seek the passion - I am in London now, originally from south africa. JUST KEEP AT IT!!! BRILLIANT!!!

  • That's what I'm talking about! Don't loose focus! As an artist...I've learned to stop striving for a single satisfying work of mine to represent me. I've discovered that i'm a work in progress. Thus, my art should reflect that evolution. And even more so, so would my passions!

  • are you filipino? remember these 7 powerful words: never, never, never, never, never give up.

there's no such things as an over night success.

  • Wow!! Just last week you were only at about 300 views. Having a featured video on youtubes homepage can really boost your career lol.

  • You got that right! I'm trippin' out!

  • Hey, I only play with the best!

And besides, what have you got to loose?

This could be too much fun!

  • Oh I forgot to add, offer Britney one of the parts.

How cool would that be to film You pitching to Brit!

i tell, this is going to work!

    Nina

  • OK.

The next episode you post is the first 5 minutes of the Reality Show: "Confessions of an Idependent Filmmaker".

We want shots of LA,studios, clubs, the Dream.

So, get out of that room and show us the City of Angels and the other players!

    The Producer

    Nina

Hey, maybe Britney will do a freebie for a newbie!

  • (smile) You are good. Are really good.

  • your video diary intrigues me. Now I want to see the movie. Whats it about? I dont even care if its not "branded" or about smurfs or even good, my curiosity peeks me. I wanna see. Give a hint or tells us when we can see it and where.

  • I will. Promise. But when the time is right. Hang in there! Perhaps I will plant hidden hints throughout the confessions. Hmmmmmm.

  • lol U CAN DO IT

  • Thanks, p. I can hear Rob Schneider's voice in your words! (chuckle)

  • Sweetheart,

    I'm the producer, baby!

    Nina

  • Bring it, Nina! Bring it!!! Know any rich people??? You know how it works!

  • It's never easy, but I'm looking forward to seeing you break the chain.

  • Yeah, man. I'm gonna need a friggin' sledgehammer!!!

  • EXACTLY WHAT form of animated movie are you planning to do it? The hand drawn 2d flash animation or 3d?

  • Hey you go Babe! watching this space x

  • I am soo in love with you. I love your videos they are awesome. good luck...

  • The thing I don't like is the myth that someone with a magic wand is going to make it all happen. You gotta make it happen, man. You could draw this thing one cell at a time if you had to. Start posting some character sketches and short scenes to show us all that you are serious.

  • Reality TV Show!

    Do it!

    Nina

  • Maulgoddess2000...you are a right. I SHALL!!!! Just promise me you'll watch, Nina!

  • very creative dude...i love this!

  • this definately does connect to the inner dreamer... in me at least, and i am sure a whole lot of otheres. i am stoked that i found you on youtube. this right here, your stuff on here, is what is giving you a branded name. this is definately getting you out there. i can't wait for this to get into development and we can actually get to see actual flashes of your idea!

  • johnnywhiteshoe...you are the wind beneath my wings. THANK YOU! And do not worry...these "flashes" will be revealed when the time is right! At that time...unicorns will frolic and all smurfs will become extinct! Not gonna let you down! (or...i'll at least try.)

  • I tend to b quite selfish bout giving advice 4 free as it's my main income..but I enjoy ur vids. Stop trying for the homerun when all u need r base hits. ur stil young, so play the game. keep your main story line, but introduce your characters through kid animated books, throw some short vids on youtube, these r easier victories and will get u branded man. then drop the movie idea. thats the new groove and it aint changing brotha...base hits 4 a guy like u 2 have a chance...peace & good luck!

  • Dude...that was solid. I"m eating up. Thanks for the solid advice. You will be pleased to know that half of what you said is already "in motion", and the other half is pure, welcomed, eye-opening insight. THANK YOU FOR NOT BEING SELFFISH!!!!

  • interesting.

  • u got a little crazy near the end but that's understandable LOL

    keep us posted! ;)

  • Dude...I know. Makin' a movie will drive you nuts!!!! Fight to keep your sanity and keep the dream alive!

  • if they want something branded they just create a short series on youtube. internet based fan are still fans

  • Exactly...

  • this is just a start of your new career dude.. as a v-logger? hmm =)

  • Good idea. Ummmm. What's a v-logger

  • a v-logger is someone on youtube who makes video journal of his experiences in life. much like a blogger but in a video format . ^^

  • Ahhhhh... Then, yes. I suppose I could do this for another job! It's pretty fun!

  • Hey dude, so what happened? Will he finance your movie? Will you make it? Post and tell us what's going on! :D

  • Stay tuned, Nonturne06! Stay tuned! Somethins' brewin' fo sho

  • o thats why iron man, incredible hulk, dark night etc.. came out well hes right but keep your head up your break is right around the corner. My mom tells me to talk to every one even the people at burger king cuz you never know who knows who so just keep faith alive. continue to speak and conversate with people about what ever it is you film people talk about lol.

  • that burger king guys is gonna make you rich! Or take all your money. Thanks, non-film person!

  • Now i dont like you because you dont take advice. I said just talk with everyone you neva know who your talking to thats all im saying you never know if those people working at burger king may be working but going to school or something and they get a break but they remeber you any way thanks.

  • Sorry, dude. I took the advice. I just responded with a bad joke. (I better stick to video blogs)

  • Man its okay lol. but just keep up the good work. You could start makeing more videos your buzz will grow and more and more people will watch you some will want you to continue but just use youtube to lauch you far into your career.

  • Let's hope so! Thanks!

  • you make crazy videos love your editing!

  • I would SOOOO watch "Smurfs VS. Godzilla"

LOL Good luck in the future my friend.

    Woot

  • Woot woot. Dang...maybe I should work on that movie instead! (not bad. hmmmm)

  • dude ang pogi mo na compared to the intro vid you made, your hawt now man! XD pinoy pride!!!!

  • Good videos...and for some reason I was empathetic to your plight. Not normal for me.

  • It got you "there", huh. Yeah...me too. Thanks!

  • ur vids are awesome

  • ur awesome, robmixstlye

  • Woot! Congrats on your coming success! I will be looking for it!

    Katie

  • so then it's not over yet!!! anyway, you could always become a youtube celebrity while you are at it :)

  • look at that you may have failed with the movie but soon you'll have a huge fan base

  • Hell yeah, stick it to 'em Indie Film Maker Guy!

When your movie is in theaters, you'll be able to stand... Somewhere... And laugh at the people that turned you down. Hahahaha. Ha. ;)

  • w00t! Go [insert name of filmmaker here]!

  • Just call me the "confessions" guy

  • hahaha i would so watch that movie if you made it XD

  • Keep going man. I'm going through the same kind of shit right now. I have an awesome script, a killler project and a very good actor attached to it, yet I have a hard time convincing anyone that I know what the f*** I'm talking about. And I'm not just the new kind on the block, i'm also a woman, which makes my project look twice less worthy of interest. As for big studios, man, their stuff is sooo BORING.

  • Fuck Hollywood,

All they make is branded shit nowaday and its pissing me off.

Everything is a remake of something or other or a sequel.

I hope your movies made man, I wanna see another Juno, a movie that takes a risk.

    GODSPEED!!!

  • If you need cameras and equipment we have it. We try to work with any reasonable Budget.

    Smooth Sounds Multimedia 818-779-1259

  • When i go "live action", I just may! I'm workin on another project too, but that also has to be revealed when the time is right.

  • You'll do great man. I officially look up to you. Good work so far!

Can't wait to see it when it hits theaters!

  • you should go with the south american animation company. I'd hate to break it to you, yet agents aren't going to accept the "new kid" don't hope for higher than your first offer, It's killed allot of indies, make the film then get it to distributers, you'll find it allot easier to sell a movie than a script, or if you don't want to make the movie beffor getting an agent/distributer, get that south american animation house to make those test shots, those will aid the selling of the script

  • That's what I'm workin' on but it got complicated. You'll see in the next confessions!

  • Dude, this is the most entertaining chain of Youtube videos I've ever seen. If you movie is half as entertaining, I'll go see it.

Now, use me as a celebrity voice for the "silly" character. =) JK

  • Thanks! Hopefully this series won't last too long! I gotta get this project off the ground!

  • Screw Hollywood! The key to success for us indies these days is:

    Do it Yourself.

    Do it Yourself.

    Do it Yourself.

You don't need a studio. All you need to tell a good story--or make a hit--is a killer plot and a campfire. Case in point: Blair Witch. No one cares if it's in HD or presented by Pixar or Dreamworks. Just get it made, you're wasting time. If you don't know how to do everything yet...learn!

"No" is always the wrong answer.

Thanks for the YouTuve series and every best wish!

  • Thanks! Yes...the time has come to go indie! Actually...the time came years and years ago but i wasn't ready. let's hope I knock this out!

  • u look like u been hittin the bottle compared 2 ur 1st vid

  • (laughing) Dude, you just made me laugh big-time. Yeah. I looked pretty thrashed there, huh. Friggin' Hollywood.

  • rofl try livin in vegas, im 20 and i look like im 40 now lmfao

  • 1:12 LOL! You're great. Keep posting videos, please!

  • oh man...this is awesome and inspirational!

  • Good Luck! hope your RICH friend really helps you complete this project! i am there to support u!!!

  • Keep at it dude, if the movie's good, it'll come through. Have you seen the other YouTuber doing something similar? he's called himself TheLoneFilmmaker, making a feature film all on his own. Its v interesting.

  • Yeah...I've only corresponded with him. We're working on two different spots. He's in production. And I'm juggling the studios. I've given him props and he gave me some too! Gotta keep it in the family, man!

  • Hey man I was going to let you know that I have a character for a future movie. Go check him out on youtube. Just type in Dr. Teabaggin. He's a real guy who help out real peope with real problems. I mean really. I created him to help out one of my buddies that was getting married...in all seriousness that why he was made. So check him out. If you want to make you and I both rich by making a movie out of him let me know. Tell me what you think. Hope to watch you carton one day!

  • Brilliant! Reminds me of BORAT and Oprah! Made me laugh, dude.

  • Hey man I was going to let you know that I have a character for a future movie. Go check him out on youtube. Just type in Dr. Teabaggin. • hahaha good luck man! by the way i suscribed to you

  • hell yea man even ur youtube vids are captivating and well put together... i know you'll make it big...GOOD LUCK!!

  • ok now that i've watched all these, i think this is the best thing i've seen on youtube in a while:) I love your honesty and the risk you took at posting this. You basically represent all of us. I am a singer songwriter (still looking for my richy rich) whom ever he or she may be. I am smiling right now for you and i know in my heart that this is what you have been waiting for. Good luck and keep us posted:) check out my jams too if you'd like and congrats on the feature!

  • Thanks for the words! I checked out your songs. Dang...you're really talented. REALLY talented. You just inspired me to get off my butt and keep pushing. What a brilliant way to feature your music! I hope your Richie Rich is reading this right now.

  • being a student filmmaker, i was curious as to how you keep afloat with bills and rent and such during this project? do you ahve a pfulltime/parttime job? how are you funding this endeavor? hopefully you'll get abck to me, i'd love to know any info. it's fascinating :)

  • I shall share wisdom that I got from Robert Townsend: "Day shift and night shift. Work in the day to earn your money, and bust your butt at night to make your dreams come true." I have a full time job so the evenings and weekends are for "dreams". It's tiring...but I do it because I love it. Also...it's good to have family and friends who remind you when it's important to "play". Catch me? Now make your movie (after you squeeze in a little Halo)!

  • thank you for taking the time to reply :) i will make good use of it! and as well, congrats on getting featured, amazing job!

  • I'll "stay tuned" bro', I subscribed to your channel now! ;) My brother's into animation, he's having a real hard time finding work, I don't know what awaits me when I finish, but I guess it's easier to find work in fiction film than animation (or, I hope so, or else you'll find me ranting on on youtube in no time, lol ;) - well, no offense to you mate, I like what you're trying to do, helping other people off the ground and what-not..) Good luck! ;)

  • I'm sure you do the same. I think animation is having a HUGE come back! Just be ready when it happens!

  • thats the problem with hollywood, they don't accept anything original anymore. There's never been more spinoffs sequels prequels remakes remastered, based off a book, based off a play based, off a tv show, based off a toy for christ sakes then there is now. We've got Indiana jones for a fourth time 20 years after it should of ended.

I wish you the best man, and I've learned a lot from you, hopefully this will help me out in the near future

  • Good luck man, we're all behind you!!!

  • Hollywood is stupid.

  • tuloy tuloy lang brad.. like your style pare..keep em all hangin..

    all the best!

  • keep it going. i know you'll get far :) nice vids.

  • Why not turn it into a book? Then if it gets popular, it would have more appeal to the industries. Or you could convince your rich friend to help fund the movie. Seriously man, do you know how many people turned down star wars? A lot more than three let me tell you. They read the script and were like o.O "this is shit!" Judging from your COAIF videos, you obviously have a knack for entertainment. Just don't give up and make us updates! Rock on, you're an inspiration!

  • Dude...those words were awesome. You are YODA.

  • awesome!!

  • Takes a lot of guts to go out and there and chase your dream. Keep chasing....

  • good luck!!!!!

  • *subscribe*

  • WOW !!! No WAY !

Ok, does anyone else feel like THIS itself could become a movie ? Its so unreal !

    Omg, You freaking ROCK !

I CANNOT wait until the next confession !

    ITS BEEN 2 WEEKS !

  • Yeah...it feels like a movie to me too! I just hope the ending is good! (with some super sweet action sequence in the end)

  • Ok confessions guy - its been 2 weeks! Where are you!? How is everything going? I think this means YOU are branded - meaning you have a fan base.

  • (smile) I'll tell you today then! New confessions coming right up!

  • Great show. Wishing you lots of luck. I hate re-makes of old movies, or films based on books, or sequels that really should never have been. I just thought maybe no one had an original thought in their head anymore, but now I realize the studios just don't want to make original stuff. Original Ideas FTW!! Keep going!

  • freakin smurfs!

  • dude keep workign at it, somethin big will come out of this I FEEL IT !!

  • Good Luck good luck good luck good luck

  • Great stuff, but depressing. That's why I'm moving to the Philippines. Cost of living is nil, people are creative, and people will work for low, low dollars. The perfect filmmaking environment....best of luck.

  • We are your fan base! :D

  • woo! so happy things are working out. good luck with this project. being a filmmaker myself, i know its hard, but stick in there

  • hey if you pitch me the idea i know so top notch animation companys send me a message what is it about

  • do they have some nest money for development projects?

  • So you're either ruminating about bad feedback or maybe just distracted by good news cause rejection is your muse. Hope it's the latter. I just watched all your vids this eve and am already immersed. Feed your utubers regularly and the pwer house will come to you.

  • Gonna try. So forgive me if my response to yours is short! Thanks for watchin'!

  • I'm a writer and have run into the same thing. I'm sure they've got good qualities, but they keep redoing the batman series, cartoon AND live action.

I mean.....please. Brand this, you number crunchers!!!!

  • I wish we at least knew a little bit about the movie.

  • You just can't, my friend. The industry's just about the most competetive in the world. Nothing can be leaked until green-lit at the least.

  • Awesome stuff, I love documentaries and this is close to earth stuff, love it. :) Keep 'em coming! Really interesting, and I do hope you succeed!

And yeah, alot of branded stuff has been coming out of Hollywood lately. Keep on fighting. :)

  • Thanks Johanzu! Documentaries don't get any closer to this! I just hope the real-life ending tot his one doesn't suck!

  • MORE!!! ... So if he's rich, we'll probably see him in about 2 months then when he's already started the project and halfway through it :D

  • aaak cmon, don't leave me hanging!!!

  • i need moar!

  • ur really funny!!!i hope you make it in the biz!!!...when u get the chance do you mind watching my vids??thank you♥
