  • I saw the picture of her b4, and now, and I was about to cry. I was in a library so I knew I couldn't.

anti euthanasiaists complain about the diginity of life being an absolute precious principle, so one's desire to not accept it, must be overridden. but look at this woman. is there any dignity within her life anymore?

Pallative drugs don't fix shit, the bottom line. you're not going to make her experience any better.

She's dead now, but I hope she has the prettiest face in her after life.

  • Anti-euthenasia types should perhaps watch/read "Johnny got his Gun" and have a re-think. If somebody wants to die peacefully to end thier suffering, we should let them..

  • Euthanasia should be legalized, but the biggest concern of mine his how far this could be taken... Like all laws, in the future it could be pushed further into immoral areas.

Maybe Euthanasia should have tight regulations. I think the person's psychological condition should be evaluated and their family should have a say, especially if they have children. Also, the person should attempt to go through therapy first and leave death as a last option.

  • Breaks my heart. Shame on humanity for allowing a woman to live in such depression.

Her disfigurement was beyond repair, and she was living an agonizing life. All she wanted was peaceful death, and society denied her that.

She had to take her own life instead of a safer and peaceful euthanasia alternative.

    So sad

  • Death penalty... legal, and illegal. People can't agree on this, for what I would assume be for, mostly, choice. Its the same as a gang inacting revange on a rival gang. Oh fuck, its exactly that same! And yet euthanasia, where its in there best interest, is also critisized? Its there choice, and your taking there choice away. Theres a problem with value; don't kill them because life is precious despite the fact they have been driven to a stage were they have no value of life. Problematic? Yes.

  • I tell what is truly frightening - when other people's religion and twisted moralities can keep you here in misery regardless of your choice - Ladybird Book religions have no place in somebody's decisions - it is all about choice

  • @hinkyponky

    Hear! Hear!

  • @hinkyponky An apt description indeed - I'll remember that one! :)

  • if God exist, I hope you're with him, may God bless you, I am so sorry you had to suffer so much pain!!!

I have pain too because of possible occipital neuralgia and upper back problems and even if it's NOTHING like this, I can not phantom living with such pain.

poor woman, I am glad your suffering has ended!

  • The problem with allowing euthenasia isn't that the people who want to die will be granted the right to die. The problem is that it could be extended to those people who are seen as a "drain on society", the old, the terminally ill, retarded people, people with disabilities, people with mental illness, orphans who can't be placed in normal homes, etc. etc. etc.

  • @jumbles1957

Ah,yes, the old "slippery slope" argument.

    How about this, instead:

Let's GROW UP a bit and give people FREEDOM to live and to end their lives without intervention of overgrown hall monitors?

If you take a moment to consult your dictionary, you will see that euthanasia (note the spelling) has nothing to do with the categories of people you mention.

Religious people love to create unrealistic scenarios as arguments, but that's nothing more than manipulation via imagination.

  • I am terminally ill. I am totally bedfast and in total pain. I live on morphine, percocet, and cannabis. I've lost my career, my money, my friends, and all of my talents. You and your kind have NO right to sentence me to this hell for as long as medical science can keep me alive. You have NO right to persecute and prosecute any compassionate individual whom I may ask to help me step out of this hell. Focus on your OWN problems, that should keep you too busy to meddle with mine.
  • @Imaginefree69 I am in the same situation and I have nothing but pain, a illness that is taking too long to kill me. Telling me they can't give me methadone because it is too dangerous but the percocet, morphine shots don't work I wish I could have euthanasia but it is not legal where I live and have no money to move to Washington or Oregon where it is legal. They only do it for their residence, so I probley have to live their a year. I have no money, no friends just sufferingpain
  • @The391956

I hear you, and I'm sorry for your situation.

If the Christian church followed the teachings of the man they CLAIM to follow, there would be concern and assistance for people like yourself. Jesus was very clear about that, going to far as to state unequivocally that their future disposition (heaven or hell) depends entirely upon their compassionate treatment of their neighbours.

Instead, they build ostentatious buildings and attack the needy.

No wonder Jesus said they'd be surprised!

  • @The391956

By the way, I also am on Percocet, morphine, and Celebrex, but the best pain relief for me is cannabis. And it is many times safer than the profit-based chemicals produced by the pharmaceutical companies. Of course the government will put you in prison for using this safe, natural medicine, but as you know, that threat loses a lot of its potency when you are in unbearable pain 24/7/

It's time to escape the tyranny of religion and return government to The People.

  • @MajorObvious: I think she wanted to make it public so that people would actually start talking about euthanasia and it wouldn't be treated as a dark little secret. I respect people like her for making these controversial issues open to the public. Afterall, people should at the vey least form their own opinions and not live in ignorance. I'm actually pro-euthanasia and I strongly believe she should have been granted the right to die with dignity.

  • That women should have had the RIGHT to die in an humane way.

NOONE had the right to tell her she had to live on, when she did not wanted to anymore.

  • euthanasia is a great idea.

  • It is horrible to see the suffering of this lady .

In this world it is so cruel that people have to suffer so much pain . And special if religious thoughts are the fundament for to let these horrible suffering people in life for their own religious pleasure . There must come a right for euthanasia for all suffering people if they want to stop their hopeless life of pain .

  • @EdwardlonesomeWolf

The video didn't say that she was in intolerable pain. For sure, she did have physical pain, but I wonder how well was her pain controlled with medication.

In addition, this lady wanted to die because she didn't want to face those ignorant type of people that would make her life miserable, simply because she looked different!

I guarantee if the WORLD had more understanding and friendly people, she would have never even thought about it!

  • For this reason, euthanasia should be outlawed. What they should do is make laws that would heavily convict individuals that are discriminating against these people, even if it's in the medical community.

  • @shakibibi ah yes fucking moron!!! in the mean time people like this poor woman will have to endure a tremendous amount of pain and nothing can help her right?

while people like u jack off on the fucking net, and tell them that NO they can not die!! the law says so!

  • @shakibibi have u ever been in pain before?

ARE U AWARE MEDICATION SOMETIMES DOES NOT HELP PAIN?

    get real

  • @EdwardlonesomeWolf i agree, religious people are disgusting! a lot of them.

  • you anti-euthanasia wackos are totally warped. you favor death penalty which murders innocent people, but then won't let someone in vicious pain take their own life. WTF!?

  • Comment removed

  • @ChrisCrockerTime yeah they never have an answer for that one they just scream 'murders' or some such nonsense!

  • No, she doesn't want to dies because of the fact of being "disfigured. She wants to dies because she has a cancer and it is very very peinfull, she 's suffuring too much...

  • I think it depends on the context. If euthanasia is seen as 'killing' then it is. Otherwise, if euthanasia is seen as 'relief of pain' and something else, then it isn't.

  • wat wil come soon enough?

    cancer? i don't think so

  • She had every right to die in this situation, and it was unreasonable to deny her, her wishes. She obviously was already going to die anyways, she was completely sound mentally, a loving mother, ect, so, she had munch to live for accept the cancer was too much.I, and most anyone else, would have done the same exact thing as this terrific woman, if i were dealt the SAME blow. Peace to her & her family, now she can rest easy...

  • Yeah... It doesnt takes a Christian to understand this; it takes an open minded, utilitarian or kanitan person to understand the pain she was going trough. RIP

  • Kantains would not condone suicide of any form, they think it is one's duty to preserve his/her life under any circumstance. (see Groundwork for the Metaphysics of Morals section 1 by Immanuel Kant). You're right on with Utilitarians condoning suicide though.

  • fuck you!! you stupid cristians!! jou wil burn in hell!! for being scared for the true.

  • im with you religion has a lot to answer for its the persons choice not some religous nuts choice keep posting

  • God is merciful and I do NOT believe that she will be damned to hell for not wanting to live. She is in constant pain, beside the deformity and all you that are making fun and calling her ugly, now maybe that will get you damned to hell. Suicide is by no means any way out of problems, and The good Lord will never put a load on you that you could not handle, this could be considered a tempt of faith. She is a brave strong women and God will show mercy on her judgement day.

  • Jikilbil,

Yours will come some enough. I can't believe the nerve of some folks...you've got to be soulless..

  • If you truly belive that God is merciful, there is NO WAY she's going to hell! You probably will though for your judgement!

  • lol...that's a funny statement to compare a right to do an euthanasia to someone's desire for genocide. Besides, church and state are separated.

  • People should have the right to do as they please so long as they dont hurt others, your little religion is irelivant.

  • you know What!! FUCK YOU! and your stupid god! To take somebody's willfull plead to put their life to an end because they are in endless pain is their choice!!! WHO THE FUCK! are you to say no!?! NO way is this nazi one fucking bit! nazi's killed people against their will because they were fascist! TOTALLY DIFFERENT!!!

Religion is personal...it's your own opinion! Don't push it on anyone else!

Put yourself in her shoes! I bet your feeble little mind would not be able to imagine her pain.

  • Finally someone has the balls to tell people to shove it, you just made my day!

  • @nachochild You need to calm down. I agree with you, but don't attack his religion. You accuse him of pushing his opinion on others, but what are you doing? The same thing, dear. Don't be so angry and judgemental.

  • R.I.P

  • God bless you Chantal.

    May you rest in peace.

My sympathy goes to your three children.

  • God bless you Chantal.

    May you rest in peace.

My sympathy goes to your three children.

  • i hate republicans!

  • poor woman!

  • People should be aloud die with dignity. I saw my mother go through something similar and think euthanasia should be legal in every country. I admire this woman's courage, rip

  • RIP

  • RIP

It's so sad to see she had suffered a lot but I'm glad she doesn't have to deal with pain anymore.

  • Dr. Kavorkian..report to France..STAT!
