I'm not sure about the difference between disc negatives and a normal negative, but i use my "crappy old scanner" to scan negatives all the time. And it works great!

But the down side is I dont think you can get prints anymore . I hear that there is 6 places in the us that will make new print now . I dont know anyplace in the chicagoland area anymore . The places that use to do it are gone .
