Nice Sounding car! @ TeflonTron i disagree... have you ever rode in an R32? the VW VR6 motors are really fast. and the torque is amazing... just because its F/I doesnt mean its fast. for example a cavalier, shuts off at 108mph, put a turbo on it and it still shuts off @ 108mph... ya i might get there faster but the top end speed is the same. i kno this isnt a cavalier but my point is the VR6 motor is pretty damn fast stock. im not trying to bash anyone just stating my opinion.

@TeflonTron You are comparing apples to oranges. You can't compare this to something that is naturally aspirated. It's a whole different style of tuning in order to make a car like this without the turbo.
Taking any turbo from a turbo car cripples it. In the same thought, taking the performance adders from a naturally aspirated car will also hinder them.

Also, you haven't mentioned a car you would compare it to. In this price range, bone stock, what would you consider a better car?

VW could have given the R32 a turbo or they could have given it 2 turbos and a 6 liter engine - but they didn't. I have never said that the R32 is a bad car or a slow car - just that it isn't a fast car in the overall scheme of things.

Personally, I don't think that whether a car is turboed or not is important, as long as it is in the same market segment. The R32 was designed as a showpiece to rival cars such as the Evo and Sti. It is nowhere near as fast and has much poorer handling, but it is much, much nicer to sit in and drive. It all depends what you want from a car - do we agree on that much?
@TeflonTron you know what, I can agree with that. I don't think they made the R32 as a rival to turbo cars since they have the GTI out with the turbo. In the end, it's all what you like.
