This took place during the time when Elvis was dating Natalie Wood,...and their actor friend Nick Adams (the Rebel t.v. show) was in the studio with Elvis. That was the ''Nick do you play drums?'', that Elvis was talking to. Excellent piece of music history! Thanks for posting this!
July/2011. Happy Birthday to the man that started it all. Many happy returns of the day Bill Haley. "Shake Rattle and Roll", became the first international rock and roll hit in 1954 reached #7 on Billboard.
@MiMiMary You do know Elvis started dying his hair black in late spring 1956 to look more like Tony Curtis. That was his very early years. I thought the jumpsuits of the 1970's were awesome, but liked his music from the early days better. His voice was at it's best around 1961 thru 1964 in my opinion.....sounded like velvet.
@LT1HILLINGHOE I agree i had his original LP. that had all his old songs.Lawdy miss claudy,Money honey,I got a woman. etc also had some of his firsr 45s. He was hungry with raw talent back in the 50s and early 60s.
I Don't see why Elvis had a piano on some of his recorded A Slap-Bass, Drum Kit and Electric and Accoustic Guitars are fine without the Jordinaires or a f----king PIANO
this SCARED alot of people. the church, pta, and law enforcement didnt want elvis bringing that black rythm into their homes.the police even filmed a 1957 concert. cstanchik

Great stuff. I think this is the approach that the songwriter had in mind, although Little Richard's is a masterpiece.
