if you watch his later videos it says that his camera doesn't export videos in the right format for mac. he got a new camera i think so he's now using iMovie
When the cube came out, it was meant to be just a smaller version of the PowerMac G4. A pro machine for companies etc. But the thing is, if you think about it, is wasn't really needed. It was sexy and awesome, but if you have enough money for a pro machine such as the PowerMac, then you will obviously have enough space for it in your house or at work because they were damn expensive! So there was no need to make a smaller G4.
it would have been interesting if apple had kept up with this design instead of going to the mac mini. By the way DRBUK, i was looking for a mac on a budget and even though this system is a little outdated, what is your input on the cube as far as buying one over say a g4 imac?
g4 imacs are much better, the graphics cards are better and processors speeds go up to 1.25GHz instead of this cube which tops up at 500MHz. both systems are UNMODDED.
ye i mean cubes are easily upgradebale in terms of RAM and HDD. but processor is a lot harder, i mean u need to knwo wat ur doin. and if u go ver i think 1Ghz u have to install fans in to keep it cool. as the cubes have no fan.

ye g4 powerbooks are always a good buy at the moment...thing is they sell a lot on ebay....maybe round 300-400 pounds in the uk, i mean may jus be better to savea bit more an get a macbook, on ebay. again i dunno the prices, but g4s work pretty nice. check dannyisace channel as he just bougth a g4 powerbook. there good systems. if u can get one for a decent price, then ye get it, u can also have leopard running on it.
@mikeecnips I know this comment is old but if your stilli n the market these old Cubes can be upgraded to dual 1.5 ghz G4's which are sitll very capable machines though the old PowerPC architecture is now outdated so that means no Snow Leopard or OS X 10.7 Lion, but for older music apps, games, and general computing, these cubes seem awesome! Powerlogix makes the upgrades

well upgrade is gonna be a bit hard at the moment, i dont have the money for it, but i think between now and the end of september im gonna get 1.5GB of RAM and an airport card, after that i wont do a lot, i mean im just short of money.
the next big thing after ram and airport will be to then upgrade processor from the 450Mhz to a whopping 1.8Ghz and then upgrade the hardrive from 20GB to 120GB. so gonna be real real real fun. maybe all will be done by end of 2008.lol. i know its long but im gonna be at university and stuff.
cool just remember the g4 is not the intel architecture, i am talking about parallels and crossover as they are based on mac intel, not the G chip. there are things you can do like emulators but it will be slow.
ye i mean, i have my sony vaio laptop, but thats pure for just other programs, and stuff, downloading things, dont wanna mess up the mac.lol. and jsut for incompatible programs with mac, ill always have a windows pc, but ill be using the mac more and more and more. but id rather buy seperate machine then have parallels or crossover, just wanna keep the mac pure, but if i have to, i guess ill have to.lol

The iMac has always been the consumer machine.
