What jets and what sizes are you using in the Razz, I haven't found any for sale locally. I have the 60cc kit and will be running premix which also requires a larger jetting. I may have a CVT conversion in the works but it all depends on $, which I don't have a lot of at this moment.
@sickcorradovr6 I got this for free from my grandparents when they were cleaning out their shed :) I use it to get from place to place while at race events I participate in.
Dude you should go on e-bay and get a speedo off of a newer razz they have a 40MPH speedo that bolts right up. Also if you look inside your exhaust there is a restrictor that can be drilled out, and the same with the exhaust port of the head. Tune the carb a hair richer. and you're ready to haul. I did it with my 88 razz and it will bury the speedo at 40mph. whaile towing my small bike trailor and toolbox.
@outskirtscustoms That's cool, didn't know about the speedos! I already removed the exhaust restriction, and smoothed out the exhaust port. I recently replaced the jug/piston with a 60cc big bore kit off ebay and added some compression by pulling the head gasket in favor of sealer. Works well and will bury the current speedo. It's jetted as rich as it can go on the main jet setting without stalling out ;) Needs a larger pilot jet, or really a bigger carb :D
@bennydaball Also if you want to go for a bigger carb a Yamaha Zuma carb is a VERY close fit. I'm still working on the cosmetics of mine after some kids tryed to steal it but thankfully I always lock the steering column so they got frustrated and left it. It still runs like a rocket but now the body looks like crap.
finally found the problem. Can you tell me the gap on the plug for this razz. Notice it was kinda small so i open the gap a bit and voila, it worked. starts pretty good now but missing just a touch.
@slyass22 I normally gap it at 35 but depending on age and compression loss it can be different. I just hold the plug to the case and gap it till I see the biggest most powerful spark when I turn it over by hand and put it in.
@Xxoo0o0o0ooxX As far as Razzes go The exhaust port on the head has a little bump inside it from the casting just take a die grinder or a dremel tool and grind that out. Same for the exhaust. I just got my hands on one of the old 1989 Honda Spree Elites. I'm in the process of modding it now. So far I got it going 45mph! on the stock bore, I'm changing the clutch weights tomarrow and might grind out the ports on it !!!
@outskirtscustoms i dont see where the restrictor is in the exhaust, but i do see how the exhaust is restricted on the engine, is it possible that the muffler doesnt have the restriction in it on mine?
@weimer495 Razz's have no governor from the factory, but some models were equipped with restrictor washers in the exhaust by dealers. The only "governing" items on these scooters is the CDI ignition which doesn't support higher revving modded engines and limits your top speed to quite a bit.
@Xxoo0o0o0ooxX CDI refers to the type of ignition the motor uses, capacitor discharge ignition. Supposedly the razz has a rev limiter through the CDI which limits the top speed. Because the razz has a fixed gear ratio transmission this should mean whatever RPM is max correlates to a max top speed, however I haven't found that to be the case on my 60cc big bore and it goes about 38mph...
My first guess would be an exhaust buildup. It's really simple fix - just take the plastics off around the engine, pull the exhaust pipe (two bolts on the engine, two bolts on the frame), then clean out the opening of the header with a round file or brush or something. If it's really bad, you might need a new pipe. It's either that, or the carb is gunked up...I'll send u some contact info if u want more help!
Still trying to fix this thing. Taken the exhaust off and cleaned but it wasn't that dirty. Next step is how do i clean the carb. All new at this so appreciate the info.
well.drain the bowl for the carb. remove the bowl. carefully spray some carb cleaner in it, let it sit, makesure you do not see anything dirty in the carb. if you have an airfilter(You should) Makesure that is clean. Something else you could try is Seafoam. you run in thru your carb and it cleans out the engine from carbon build up. its safe to use on your engine. good luck!
@DoneWrongType : Well tried that and let the air screw 1 1/2 turn out. Still not working properly. Can't get the dam thing to keep running. Maybe have the wrong hoses on backwards. Tried everything and it seems not to be getting gas. I can ether it and it runs till the fumes run out. Bowl is always full when i take it apart.
Nope thats flat, going with the wind one direction, and going against the wind the other direction. If your razz only goes 25 either A) you're fat, B) you need to rebuild the motor, or C) you have a restrictor put in the exhaust and you own a moped model, simply pull the exhaust and pull the washer out.

clean carb take out the two jets inside of carb and spray with cleaner reassemble tune air screw 1 1/2 out from in. then adjust idle as necescary

Nope thats flat, going with the wind one direction, and going against the wind the other direction.
