has anyone seen the show where the guy is asked by his father if he will forgive him if he apologizes? The one in the blue shirt? Was the answer true or false?
If I had a reason to, I'd love to take therapy and have this chair just me and my therapist...I could probably learn a lot about myself that way. But I don't think I could do it in front of people/public eye, its too intense, and everybody lies...its in our nature.
I'm watching the new show 8/28/08 and it's a version of Jerry Spring/Maury Povich. I can't believe what some people will do just to get money and 15 min. of fame. The contestant on now (Quincy)should be kicked to the curb by her husband. She actually appears to be proud of herself, saying she's "honest". Ugh. I feel sorry for her parents and husband. Not my kind of show.
I am in the middle of taping for the Moment of Truth. One of my last questions was "Have you ever intentionally killed another person?" The whole audience is like 'oooohhh' I sit there for about ten minutes actually just because I have gas and am trying to fart before I'm finally like 'yes!' I lower my head in my shoulders and laugh. Anyway, now the host has asked me 'have u ever peed on a toilet in a public restroom without cleaning it up?' I am scared about that one. People may think I'm weird
Hmmm...Jerry Springer redone. This is pretty repulsive that a network has actually created a show like this. Let's have fun watching people destroy their lives! Yah! Woo hoo! America is such a thoughtful country isn't it?
omg...whoever get son this show will ruin their live foreva and eva and eva lol i hope nobody in my family gets on this show and makes me get on that stupid couch.
The woman at 0:45 seconds, has she been on the show yet ? She looks a lot like the actress Monica Dean, who played Gabriella in the episode "The Hunting Party" on Lost.
The ironi is when he ask her "why do you think that you're a good person" she says that she promise her self that she never steal again.. and IGNORING the fact that she SLEPTH with another man while she's married ROFL!
We cant watch people being killed or mutilated, movies like Hostel and Saw have that covered. But we can see real people be phychologically tormented for money. Never mind human dignity and pride, or family happiness you surrender those when you sign on. They have a price, and the price is 500,000$. And the people stay distracted while the empire crumbles.

I like to use the technical truth, if you dont feel like your lying, then your not going to be nervous.
If someone asks something like "Did you eat the cookies out the cookie jar?" That seems like a clearcut yes or no right? but No in my head it would go something like "Well technically, I didnt eat it straight out the cookie jar, I had to get it out with my hands first, then eat it so No I didnt" There is always someway around somethin technically
You ever notice people on the show wait and build suspense before answering a question? they cry before the tough question, I know many people who answer quickly to yes and no after hearing about money. Wouldn't the show suck if people answered immediately everytime. This show is choosing specific people, I think.
Oh realy, well, my cousin is a lawyer and he said that one of his clients fooled a polygraph by stepping on a tac for each question. It made the response constant.
It reads the Heart Rate when ur question is asked. First u have control questions to see how fast ur heart beats when u say yes or no. When u say yes ur heart beats the same as the control and when u lie, obviously beats much faster.
When ur nervous and u lie, i bet ur heart beats even faster :D
What if you are nervous because of the question, even though you might be telling the truth.
I know it might be a bit accurate, but not very accurate, i'd give it a 60 percent accuracy, maybe less. By the way military men are trained to succeed with these tests on any occasion whether they are telling the truth or not. to avoid having to tell secrets by being interrogated by other armies or whatever.
not exactly, when you are on polygraph i think it changes once you have the question asked. so your rythm changes. but i'm not a tester or w/e they do. but alot of times when people lie they scratch they head or something :D

and yeah I'd go on the show too but I'd be scared to have the answer be false when I was actually telling the truth. Besides I'd have to wait 2 more years anyway. You have to be at least 18 right?
This just comes to show how selfish people are. I would never in a million years, for any amount of money, risk hurting my loved ones. What are you going to do with $500,000 after your spouse has left you, your parents have disowned you, and you have ruined your reputation? Just amazing to see how selfish people are & the extents they'll go to for materialistic things...
I think even when they say the answer is false I think its true because why would anyone want to lie on this show, theres no point in lying cos you get nothing out of it.
a spy could win easily. polygraph tests are worse for innocent people than guilty people. polygraph tests don't measure brain wave, but physiological things like perspiration and breathing.
When given a Polygraph test, they'll ask you questions such as "Is your name (real name)?" "Is your date of birth (your DOB). Pretty much, the first 15 questions will be really obvious questions which will set the your range for the needle. Then, when given a question whose response is not the truth, the print the needle leaves will not coincide with the first 15 questions. The polygraph can easily be cheated if done properly.

I have been waiting 4 years since "On The Cover," 6 years since "Russian Roulette" and "Temptation Island" (although I never watched that show) to watch Mark Wahlberg again.
What's weird to me is that, isn't it possible to give a truthfully different answer when say, your father is upset and asking for forgiveness in front of you, as opposed to being asked the question by some polygraph tester before the show? It seems problematic.
lol i just kinda found this never herd of the show but after wqatcdhing the clips man that show looks great it kills me what lengths people will go to for money i love the womqan that basically lost her husband family and the show. lol
I like this show but i think they need to stop being retarded about how they repeat everything after every commercial break. It's an hour long show that you only see 30 minutes of airtime becaues they just REPEAT EVERYTHING. it angers me. Anyone else feel like that?
they are hooked to a lie detector prior to the show but they are not told the answer when they do it. they find out during the show when they are asked.
polygraphs aren't 100% but they're pretty close. It'd take a really skilled person to fool a polygraph
The interesting thing about this show is that it's the only show where the contestants decide whether or not they win, yet most of them lose. Kinda tells ya a lot about people
Can someone tell me why anyone would risk destroying their reputation, marriage and their kid's childhood for a little bit of money. Why would a tv station promote this? It is almost impossible and even if they did get half a million they would only get 300k after taxes. It just doesn't make sense to me.
this show is the best thing that ever happened on history of television... wish i could take my wife there, i think she has a few bones hidden in the closet, she says she is perfect
Talk about a Preview Into "Jugement day" when we shall be juged by God in front of every living exsistance. Then there they its just infront the USA if not more.
I think the lie detector machine takes a quick baseline and looks for any sudden fluctuations in bodily functions. It seems that when most contestants fail when they become very comfortable/confident that they are doing well, which serves as a baseline, and when they present an embarrassing question, which causes them to stumble (fluctuation), determining that they are lying when in fact they could be telling the truth. To win, you have to keep your anxiety constant! watch and learn people.
these people know all the questions that are going to be asked because the lie detector test is days in advance. if there's anything that they know could ruin lives of their loved ones, they should back down. I can't feel bad for them because they know what they're getting into.
Agreed. If they go into this with excess baggage, it's guaranteed they'll ruin themselves. And even if they don't, there are always hidden prejudices that can come up that you aren't aware of. It's really not worth the money.
at the end of march or at the april beginning this show will be on also on slovene TV3

Real Human Drama.
We cant watch people being killed or mutilated, movies like Hostel and Saw have that covered. But we can see real people be phychologically tormented for money. Not everyones heart rate speeds up. I forget which military branch trains their soldiers to beat the Polygraph.
Beyond that, some people just lie so much daily, lying doesn't affect their heart rate, blood pressure, etc.

The polygraph measures ur heart rate. At the start you have control questions like, is ur name such and such and they take down that reading,
When u get ur questions they match up ur heart rate toward ur control questions, if ur heart rate beats much faster ur lieing.
Even if ur nervous to start off with, ur heart will still beat much faster when u lie
If u dont agree reply to me :D

I have been waiting 4 years since "On The Cover," 6 years since "Russian Roulette" and "Temptation Island" (although I never watched that show) to watch Mark Wahlberg again.

What's weird to me is that, isn't it possible to give a truthfully different answer when say, your father is upset and asking for forgiveness in front of you, as opposed to being asked the question by some polygraph tester before the show? It seems problematic.

I like this show but i think they need to stop being retarded about how they repeat everything after every commercial break. It's an hour long show that you only see 30 minutes of airtime becaues they just REPEAT EVERYTHING. it angers me. Anyone else feel like that?

polygraphs aren't 100% but they're pretty close.

1:02, the guy shaking his head. Thats exactly how i feel that people would go on this show, and that it was even made in the first place.

this is a messed up show because its bribery paying people good money to answer questions that could ruin their lives...
dandeisel08 3 years ago
They chose to go on there and they're the ones that do the adultery or whatever else is bad. You do the crime, you do the time.

Talk about a Preview Into "Jugement day" when we shall be juged by God in front of every living exsistance. Then there they its just infront the USA if not more.
whatupchico 3 years ago
I think the lie detector machine takes a quick baseline and looks for any sudden fluctuations in bodily functions. It seems that when most contestants fail when they become very comfortable/confident that they are doing well, which serves as a baseline, and when they present an embarrassing question, which causes them to stumble (fluctuation), determining that they are lying when in fact they could be telling the truth. To win, you have to keep your anxiety constant! watch and learn people.

Its really easy to pass a polygraph test. Just repeat a different question in your mind.

goodjock 3 years ago 24
i know its so easy. u mite as well tell the truth because the kie detector is just going to say if its true or false
waffleboy72 3 years ago
these people know all the questions that are going to be asked because the lie detector test is days in advance. if there's anything that they know could ruin lives of their loved ones, they should back down. I can't feel bad for them because they know what they're getting into.
cocopora 3 years ago 5
Agreed. If they go into this with excess baggage, it's guaranteed they'll ruin themselves. And even if they don't, there are always hidden prejudices that can come up that you aren't aware of. It's really not worth the money.

haha i love this show so much! i'd say anything for that money!
