  • Hehe d'amour

  • Nice Job, i'm french and i recognize some friends talking like this x')

  • I'm french, and your "r" sounds like the german's "r" and not the french's ! But you do it very well, i have friends who speak english like that... That's irritating, but funny... ! ;)

  • Why english speaking people would imitate the french accent ?? , for fun ? explain me ...

  • @pedro6092 For acting, in theater, some plays require a french accent for certain roles, for example Lumiere from Beauty and the Beast

  • @pedro6092

    Some plays have French characters.

  • Very good

French pronounce TH either S or less often D, ZIS IS...

Italians always say D instead of TH so DIS IS...

    I'm both so I know :P

  • Boy she's good

  • The first thing you have to know is that there is 2 kind of French! You were speaking English with a French accent from France and it is actually true that French people from France are not able to pronounce the "th" sound. They says "Smis" instead of "Smith". But as a Quebecer myself, we probably have an accent for English people but (I think) can speak with a great English accent. :)

  • And it is webfilmschool so go search up webfilmschool right now on YouTube Thame is a real actor/director/editor

  • FALSE! we do know how to pronounce "th"!

  • @Cereza5519 Yes it's true... Just practice...

  • Her mouth is distracting me

  • FREAK

  • i'm french and it's sounds more like german

  • It's not a french accent it's a space accent maybe a dutch or german accent

  • I'm french and the girl sounds like german accent 0_0, personally when i speak english i really don't have French accent

  • Sounds like the german accent actually...

  • im british but my first language is french so i guess i am good

  • truth is that she has not a really good french accent...

  • why is it important to know the french accent ! I'm lucky because I speak french fluently cause I'm french but I lived in united states so I know how to speak english with a pretty good accent but I know how to make the french accent ! but why is it important , I thought it was a darwback for acting

  • favorite part, learn to speak french, that will help

  • the french is very confusing to learn because its backwards like we say i like to eat and they would say eat i like to i think im not sure if thats them but i do know thats what we do in Louisiana (mixed population) ... if im wrong plese tell me and i think and its kinda hard since i can only say not type but in french i like to eat is J'aime manger .. correct me if im wrong

  • @totallyrandomcutie1 "i love you" in french is "love i you" Or "love you i" so yeah your proably right dont stress out about it so yeah and luisiana has a pretty set up french community down their thats right to so yeha

  • @n0xc0mment oh thank you

  • @totallyrandomcutie1 That's japanese. We don't talk like Yoda.

  • @Alanplou ...i have actually been around seen been taught and know the french language past that point i actually am french born in the usa i was wondering at that moment but i know i was correct plus this girl at my school takes it and helped me out

  • @totallyrandomcutie1 Maybe it's something specific to Louisiania in this case, but I can guarantee you 100% that we don't speak backward in France. I like to eat is not Eat I like to but J'aime (=i like) manger (= to eat).

  • @Alanplou You like to eat the manager? O.o

  • @Alanplou nooo i had a bad example i meant like "i like it yes" although it may be spe cific to l.a

  • The Teeth...

  • :-/

  • pls make a porn.... c=====3

  • @Stevina18 your grammar is intimidating...lol

  • I'm french and it's sound more like German accent than French...

  • I thought this vid was how to speak a french accent if your're currenty learning cuz I need some help....and I don't like speaking french in front of my classmates either, i'd rather just say it to my self.

  • You messed up the very last word because you didn't follow your own rule! You said "city" instead of "cit-IE" :D - otherwise great general guidance. I would add: use "s" for unvoiced "th" (think -> sink) and "z" for voiced "th" (that -> zat).

  • @Stevina18 I want to know why YOU made the hurtful comment you did. What were you trying to accomplish by posting it?

  • @Stevina18 I don't understand. Since when did it become immature to stand up to a bully? Telling someone that their teeth is intimidating is really offensive and hurtful. But why would you criticize her to begin with? Did you not enjoy the video? Did the video suck that much that you have to put her down for it? Just tell her the video sucks then. I'll never understand people. The fact that 100 people agree with your comment disgusts me.

  • Comment removed

  • @Stevina18 Just because "many" people do it does NOT mean it's right. And you are only getting hate because your comment was just uncalled for. Her teeth are perfect. It's not like she needs braces or her teeth are yellow, but even if she did, your comment would still be mean. This is a video about accents, NOT about teeth. Would you like it better if she made an audio clip? Get over yourself, if you don't like her teeth, just look away. Grow up already.

  • She snored at 0:40 and again at 0:44!!!!

Mahn....this babe is an amazing coach!!!!

    Snoring without sleeping!!!!! :P

  • @MsTHfreak that wasn't snoring, that was French throat-R

  • Oh my god I can't watch this it's too horrible. Don't get me wrong. You do it perfectly. But that's why. I'm french and speak english currently with no french accent but when french people start speaking english with french accent I just want to choke them to death.

So I guess you can translate that to:

    Nice work! :D

  • @MrMissMerde tu te la pete à peine toi

  • @MrMissMerde eat your penis.

  • @MrMissMerde esti que jpense pareil1

  • Sorry but it sounds like an israeli trying to speak english with a french accent.

  • @MrMissMerde I can't agree more except i have the terrible french accent when i speak english and i hate it too >< lucky you :) by the way the video is really good that's how we speak XD

  • @MrMissMerde dont worry mate im birtish but have no accent at all

  • @MrMissMerde erm...

  • @Stevina18 Why are her teeth intimidating? Do you know why you made such a comment? Because if natural selection was to ever weed humans out on the basis of teeth (which it has done in the past), she would be one of the few people to survive while you and I would both rot and perish. I would say that's rather intimidating knowing that someone has superior teeth than I do, but it is ignorant of you to say her teeth are intimidating. Tsk tsk, typical American.

  • She speeks german? lol

  • AAAH!

  • If you want a french accent start by learning how to pronounce french vowels,as it is where our accent mostly comes from, secondly, learn where to place your tongue, english often press their tongue on their teeth to produce words, especially the ''th'' phonetic, french never do that, thats the reason why we have a hard time with the ''th''. when we speak, we press our tongue on our palate most of the time.try pronoucing ''the'' while placing your tongue on your palate, you'll hear the accent.

  • i live in Belgium where french is the main langauge and been down to Paris a couple times. i can hear a french accent. not the best but better than mine. the "r" sound though are a b1t<H to acquire.

  • Thank you!

  • SOOOO FUNNNNNYYYYYYYY ! HAHAHA It's not french accent xD

  • @adarbon and also - i was talking about each word, not about a sentence...

  • @adarbon from About.com =

I learned French at an early age (age 5) at an immersion school and we were taught to, in general, emphasize the last syllable because in English (in general) the first syllable is emphasized. It's a generalization but it works, especially when teaching French to English speakers. Hope this clarifies.

  • @Arriss3 The same, a french cannot speak without saying "putain". It's the first word of babies.

  • Joey Tribbiani knows how to speak french

  • serouisly trying to learn to speak in a french accent cause im auditioning for Lumiere in beauty and the beast :)

  • i would also say elaborate on the french usage of nasal vowels. though she is going for cliche, i have met many french upon first coming to america as teens and young adults and if they have only learned it in the past five years, they most likely will thave this accent unless drilled thorougly in france before arrival. also, the more you push it the fact it looks. practice the sounds and make them fluidly. and yes, for the most part, anyone learning a language looses their accent in 5-10yrs

  • I think you did GreAt!! If my parents would let me move to New York I would so totally ask you to be my acting coach

  • @fashibagoob You are a doll! :)

  • Im french and this is REALLYY NOT A FRENCH ACCENT.

  • @SarahAndJustSarah

Ça, c'est vrai. I am Francophone as well, and the vast majority of French people don't sound like this when they speak English. She has some of the elements right, like the guttural 'r', but it is stereotypical, and that's what I think she was going for.

  • @CadjinGisclair It's hard to get it right in a short video, but I made some generalizations and did my best. It's an intro. thanks!

  • @athenareich Hey, I'm not sure why all these people are hating on you, but I want to say thanks for the upload. And despite what some of these comments say, there is nothing wrong with your teeth. I don't know why people have to be so cruel on youtube, but thanks a bunch for at least trying. That's more than half of these "critics" can say about themselves. I appreciated the video.

  • @tangram108 Hiya - thanks - I appreciate it and you are a sweetheart. I guess some people find it easy to be negative on the internet because there's no repercussion. But I bet you not one of these negative people have ever worked as an actor or performer. A critic is a critic.. not a creator. :)

  • @athenareich I'm glad to see that you are very self-confident and can take things in good humor. With that type of attitude, you'll find great happiness in life. It's much easier to criticize than it is to appreciate, so I was just sending you some thanks from a person who can appreciate good talent. =]

  • no not good you should really work on your french accent ,

  • Thanks for the attempt, but this really falls short. The "r" is not that hard, and no, not every intonation ends on the last syllable. Also, you don't just speak in the front of your mouth, you have to speak above as well, in the nasal cavity. It creates a very bright (not nasally!) sound that many of the French naturally speak with. Also, it's a good thing to know what French words we have in English, and pronunciations. Elephant would be Ehleh-phahnt, "ah" as in "father". ;)

  • Don't wanna be mean ;) it was nice and very close ... I have to admit the " elephant" thing and the " store" thing was so true ;)

  • Im sorry but I'm French and I'm aware of our accent and it's been almost ten years that I study English and it just doesn't sound like that. Weee speak likee zis you no?

  • Sorry but you don't sound French. We aren't used to pronounce "rrrrhh" for "r" but rather "w".And I smiled when you've pronounced "elephant" and "new york city" : you seemed almost insane!

I know that the usual French pronunciation is horrible, but not of that kind !

(no ill feelings, though...don't want you to find me rude!

  • Wtf xD

  • who would want to have that accent??? Everytime I hear some french people speaking english like this my ears bleed. Oh and I am French canadian.

  • @Stevina18 i haVE A LIFE AND THAT'S WHY I DON'T JUDGE AND HATE PEOPLE, WHICH U DO, SO APPENTLY, UR THE ONE WHO NEEDS TO GET A LIFE.

  • @famous1779 she doesnt

  • @famous1779 haha yaa copying mea you dont have sumthing elezs toa say

  • @mirandacosgroveabout haha yaa copying mea you dont have sumthing elezs toa say

  • @famous1779 I agree with you. I also yelled at Stevina18 for her negative comment. Stevina18 might have nicer looking teeth, but the female in the video has superior teeth speaking from an evolutionary viewpoint. The person in the video is more adapt at surviving than most other people. That sounds pretty intimidating...I guess? It's not like she's got yellow or crooked teeth, so I don't even know why they would make such a negative comment.

  • @tangram108 thx

  • @famous1779 And thank you for helping to stop cyber-bullying.

  • I can totally imagine her eating some tree bark.

  • NO! I have a very close friend who's french, and she sounds absolutely nothing like this. Soooo stupid.

  • I am french. We speak our TH's like Z's. And I personally can not pronounce the H's. But most have trouble with saying R's in general.

  • I'm french and this is not how we speak english.

most of people .. instead of pronouncing the sound "THE" .. as in "The class" .. We say "Ze" .. "Ze class" ..

And we don't prononce the "R" .. in "I am french" we would say "I am fwench" ..

  • @Stevina18 get a life

  • 'we cant say the 'th' sound it is too difficult'

    I died of laughter :) <3

  • Yikes being raised french and later on picking up on my english I can say... Arrête avant c'est trop tard! (Stop before its to late!)

  • Your accent is horrendous! Please don't coach people on what you don't know!

  • GIRL YOU NEEED SOME CHAP-STICK

  • @Stevina18 ok whatevs

  • @Stevina18 well, keep ur negative thoughts in ur mind

  • AWESOME, FRENCH ACCENT

  • @Stevina18 WELL, SHE'S NOT TALKIN ABOUT HER TEETH, SHE'S TALKIN ABOUT ACCENTS, SO STOP JUDGING

  • Only French children who are learning English speak with that accent.

I've been learning English for 7 years and I no longer have it.

  • @darkyumax ya so true i been learning english for 6 years now my accent is not like this anymore

  • looks like she got a mouthfull of white floor tiles!

  • i can't concertrate on what she said, because of the teeth......

  • Very good performance ! Helpful !

  • this was very gooood :) thxx

  • This lady's mouth scares me

  • Before making this kind of video, please check your sources...

You are simplifying too much, it's ridiculous. Please enlarge your culture before posting crappy things like that one.

  • The accent she did is the french accent of a drunk tramp. I'm french so I know what I say.

  • we're not so caricatural !! ( je suis française .)

  • "Wee cahnnot say T-H it is too deefecult" ha(:

  • god damn that was a terrible french accent. trust me i would know i'm half french and speek it with my familly. that sounds terrible. don't teach anyone that.

  • tu es nulle ma pauvre!

  • actually it is true , i started to do same staff , here in paris , make accent in last sylllable , and it is work , thank you very much !!!!

  • Please being indulgent with that girl , talking french for americans - and generally speaking with the anglo-saxon peoples - is very difficult to pronounce - I learned my English and it was hard at the beginning ...Remember !

  • Sounds a bit like German accent to me (i'm French). This "r" is way too strong ! Anyway, I just hate french accent...Fortunately I don't have it anymore...I heard that american people thought french accent was cute. Is it true?

  • @mrsbaudelaire Yes, very true!

  • @mrsbaudelaire I'm Australian but I adore French accents!!!

  • I am French, and just so you know, that's not a French "r" at all; it's a German "r". The French "r" is a lot softer.

Last point: the accent is not on the last syllable in French words: we just don't accent any syllable.

  • @dvpnke this is probably the accent u use on stage when ur not being serious...

  • @dvpnke Thats French canadien accent!

  • @franconain ouais avec des dents pareilles ça m'étonnerais pas! mdr

  • LOL there's a Listerine Mouthwash ad before the video.

  • sak pase im hatian and that is not how we speack loser pervert

  • So many teeth in that mouth, my dick is hiding in fear.

  • @Typon lol

  • I laughed at this chicks bug eyes and gaping mouth.. put that in a french accent... merci lol :P

  • i thought awful was spelled without an e..?

  • I live in France and I should say french accent is more AWEFUL ! well, the best part is when showmans on TV should face foreign guests :)))

  • I'm french and her accent is just AWEFUL !!

  • why the long face ?

  • Effectivement, ça rend plus allemand que français. Et surtout, je ne comprends pas pourquoi chercher à parler anglais avec l'accent français, qui est un des plus laids qui soient...

  • The accent isn't THAT bad, but the bad thing is how you position your lips and chin while imitating the accent: it makes you look like a duck.

  • ton accent est horrible..

    et c'est car suis-je américain.

    mais bon essayer..

  • @meiguonan1029 your French is horrible...

  • @TrIxTeR1249 merci, mais c'est parce que je suis un eleve depuis seulement 3 ans :)

  • that was....i coulden't understand the last thing she said....OMG IT WAS FRENCH ACCENT!!!! =O

  • no

  • you sound like hitler not being a hater your accent sound like him

  • thumbs up if you fed her a carrot

  • That's a french accent : watch?v=M8-Z37Nh0LY . Now that you noticed that your accent has nothing to do with French one, you can stfu

  • i don't get it, why ppl want to have those accents? O.o"! Just be happy with ur own accent.. don't try to be like someone u arent!

  • @Aly90

she said before that it was for her acting gigs...

knowing different dialects makes you look more versatile which, in turn, books more jobs. Pay attention to the title before you diss.

  • @Aly90 Because actors need to learn different accents in order to get roles..

  • Sounds french to me ;D

  • @AshMargrove

    that's what I said... haha

  • look at those horse teets

  • it's soud like german, between german and belgian

  • Boring !

  • Ouai, c'est pas l'accent français, ou modifié alors..

  • Ok, sorry for German natives who I could have offend, but as a french native, I can certify that this accent is completely exagerated .. all is too strong. And as for lots of french people, the german is stronger than french, in terms of "R" prononciation for instance... I think this accent is closer to the german one than the french one...

  • --'

  • this is Athena Reich from the videos. Google me and connect with me on facebook and my website :)

  • J'ai envie de pleurer...

  • Ta mère

  • Je suis francais et je peut prononcer th

  • @tonino147 maybe it doesnt sound like french but its no way a german accent!

  • Retarded.

  • This is clearly a French accent.

  • Oh and by the way, French is a flat language, so there isn't any accent on syllables. We don't go up at all on the last one as you said, we don't go up at all, and that's why French is very hard to understand when they talk together.

  • @n3rdz0rz I'm not talking about pitch (going up and down), but accents as in where the emphasis is on the word. You might want to check the dictionary before dishing out criticism using words incorrectly... Silly... haha

  • That's ABSOLUTELY not the French accent !

  • This ain't a french accent !!!

  • did anyone else notice how abnormaly large her teeth are?

  • God I'm French and your French accent is awful!!!! Sounds more like a German accent to me....

  • you are a very ugly freaky

  • lol im a moroccan a froncophone
