  • Little Mona Lisa layin by my side...........

  • I need to find the DVD of this. If one. Glasto '08. Really hope it's in DVD.

  • Hell the end is so fuckin glorious

  • So she's on a mission / Chasin' the devil all around town / Fighting day and night / But it's only in her mind / She's so great she cannot fall no / But they're so mean they won't let Her hold on / And the only way out

Is still to believe there's Love / I still believe that's Love

    ...

  • Compare this 2 the version on T in the park 2004

  • i think this is a bit slow (still good) I just think they played it better before.

    Youth and Young Manhood FOREVER!!!!

  • one of their best concert

  • this needs to be on the setlist

  • Brilliant

  • I keep returning to these Glastyo '08 youtube clips. they sound so majestic and strong. Caleb never sounded better. But I think their Coachella 2011 performance this past weekend runs a close 2nd.

  • I can't believe I went to see Fatboy Slim instead of this.

I got them mixed up with Kings of Convenience.

Wasn't such an avid fan at the time.

  • @Pardray well your a fuckin idiot then mate :P

  • @marktrfc So True.

  • Amazing Gig......Amazing Crowd....!

  • this is my favorite concert of theirs. perfect lighting (not overdone as it is now) music sounds better, and calebs voice is better.. he kinda destroyed his voice in 09 when he was singin like a madman

  • I LOVE NATTHAN !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • is this Live on DVD????

  • They never play this song live any more =(

  • @jjpatel6 really? but why?

  • Matchless speakers are EVERYWHERE! Reminds me of Matchless by the unemployed architects

  • i love this sonng :)

  • YES.

  • saw them last nite at the Hollywood Bowl 7-12-10...was so hoping they would have added this to their set list just for that event... the standout song was a "new" version of Trani... loved it!! Standing room only the crowd was really into the music. I can die happy now!! saw the Kings!!!! but only after I get their new CD!!!!

  • one of my favourite songs by kol!

  • TUNE!

  • i was there ive seen them live so many times they are the greatest band in the world by a mile from lee rooney

  • LoveIt<3

  • one of my FAVORITE songs!

"little mona lisa layin' by my side"

  • great band but better song.. They create such brilliant songs.

  • when the crowd sings along... I close my eyes slightly lose it

  • @kramonisac what do u mean?

  • I mean it's bliss. orgasmic. so fucking good. makes me wanna jump and punch the fuckin ceiling good.

  • love the original version of cali waiting more than this version, both are great though.

i remember watching this on bbc, edith and whathisfacewere were talking and i could hear trani in the background. i was going mental 'cos i couldnt hear their greatest song because two idiots were talking over it.

  • awesome performace. his voice has really improved live. love this song

  • this truly is so much better than the live at the o2.. turned that off halfway through.

  • they should release a DVD of this set... its glasto and they rocked it man!!

  • This is way better than the Live in O2.

  • He must throw away like 15 picks a show, must have sweaty hands.

  • a guitar pick

  • a pick...

he give the fans a keep sake

  • Probably my favorite song next to Frontier City

  • a guitar pick

  • THEY R AMAZING

  • hell yeah.... i'm gonna see their homecoming show in nashville!! ~~butterflies in my belly~~

  • In all reality these guys are practically rednecks.

    I love them all.

  • my favorite part of this song is from 3:08 - 3:44

  • absolutley amazing.

  • i was there :) before the new album come aswel, Crawl was and still is the best on it, and i think it holds up nicely with the songs on "because of the time".

They blew alot of people away with this set that friday at Glasto, aaaaaaahhhhhhh Glastonbury :) :) :)

  • lol

  • no, you're just a child, you shouldn't go to gigs... study and leave this to the grown ups, mate...

  • hells no, i love going to gigs

  • yeah mate, I was just jokin... it sucks when you're under 18 and your parents tell you what to do... I used to suffer with this as well

  • i no how you feel iam not allowed till 18 !

  • haha i still have 4 years to go lol

  • Amazing Version, i just love it, i can't die without check this guys!!

    Thanks!

  • crowd were so much better at this years t in the park but they played a much better setlist here

  • i love how theyve managed to transfer this song to be a massive stadium sized anthem, without compromising the kinda garage rock roots of it

  • Balls to you all - Kings of leon are by far the best thing for ages. Its a pity radio / bbc 1 have taken them on board as all fools noe like them and they can ponce around. But whatever, I love them. This is one of the best tracks ever made and to hear this live is mega. skillz is great

  • best albums have to be aha shake heartbreak and because of the times, just because so many great songs came from those two aha sh had, milk, day old blues, taper jean girl and the bucket. Because of the times for, on call, fans, charmer, knocked up, ragoo, and true love way!

  • im a youth and young manhood man.

joes head, red morning light, spiral staircase, happy alone, genius, cali waiting.

and not to mention trani. they are the best songs kol have ever written.

  • It's true!!! My favorite was "Fans", but I can't have just one favorite!!! I'm mad about "California waiting" and "Sex on fire", too...

  • Trani is your favourite have u lost your mind what about charmer and crawl and black thumbnail etc slow night so long

  • your opinion highlights exactly whats great about the kings. You pick a favoutite and then you think "Oh no, what about this.....and this.....and this...." very few modern day bands have the range of classics like K_O_L

  • that is true! change my mind on my favorite every week! lol

  • Like "In Flames".. If you like that kind off music ofc...

  • this version is waaay way way better then the album version same with molly's chambers aswell

  • i used to b just like you but after listin to trunk a few times i now like trunk as well as al kols other song but trani is my favourite

  • trani would be up there with me as well. It's epic and and that's why they always finish a set with it.

  • thats my best kol song

  • I agree my favorite by far. Glastonbury 2004 version was awesomer though.

  • i prefer when they play this faster and he sings with a rougher edge to his voice.

  • this's awesomee!!!

  • they were so so SO good....

  • This was the first Glastonbury i missed since i started going 14 years ago. I don't think i'll ever get over missing this.

  • i was there!! right near the front, wish i'd been sober enough to remember them though!!! reading09 though!!

  • That looks amazin- im jelous i wasnt ther :( rrrrrr!!!

  • best band ever

was lucky enough to get to support them at the SECC in Glasgow in Aug 05 with my old band, good times!

  • thats like unbeleivabley cool !!!!!

  • IM from Glasgow :)

Great to acctually be suported by them ;o

  • kings are soo good. best band of al time, dont dislike one of there songs, saw them in march and it was unreal!!!!

  • thats what makes them so good. on a regular album you like 3 or 4 songs. on a kings album you like every song. only one i don't like is trunk

  • what?? trunk is an amazing song. i love that song so much.

  • exactly! i like all their songs

  • I love that one LOL. Their new album however, seems a bit too..shiny? I'm not fond of that.

  • yeah i agree...my favourite albums are youth and aha because it really seems like four dudes put those together in a garage....simple but genius. Even though tracks on the new album like closer are fantastic..i regret the use of effects ' cause it loses the raw edge their earlier stuff had. But like i said I love it all.

  • Yeah, it's good, but nothing compared to their old stuff. It seems it's good, but hasn't got any of the magic of the old stuff; oh christ I sound so cheesey.

  • wow i wish i was there so band,great crowd,great place,great band.

  • i went to see them in december and was devd they didnt play this

going to T in the park and leeds 09 they're playing both

i hope they play it at one of those 2

    amazing band

    all 4 albums

  • lucky lucky boy!

  • you jammy jammy bastard i am jealous and then some i wana see them so much but just haven't got the money :( :( : (

  • i fucking love this guy for putting up these videos !

    (L)

  • I second that !! x

  • this songs amazing :)

  • I like how the song evolved with them. If you check out the live versions of this song over the years, you can really tell!

Great band then, great band now, can´t discuss...

    Awesome!

  • who gives a rats ass if they have gone mainstream, if you like a band you dont go off them just cause everyone likes them, that mate is a bit pretencious just like the band if they have gone mainstream or not! x

  • finally somebody with sense! i totally agree, i hate it when people go off bands just because others discover them but alas the public are full of fools. This was an awesome gig though had the time of my life hope they return this year

  • @rosco86 the point is not that everyone likes them. its that the quality of the songs themselves have dropped in order to appeal to a larger audience. if the entire world love youth and young manhood, i'd still love it.

  • @rosco86 i understand what you mean but their new stuff doesn't even begin to compare to the stuff off their first two albums

  • Grunge sound? The fuck are you talking about?

  • Comment removed

  • i was on the front row =P

  • WOW they were so good at glasto!! I was backstage for them and it was such amazing atmosphere and really weird being able to see what they see.

  • YA I AGREE , some people think because of the times was der first album pisses me off to i love KOL they just put you in a good mood like im taken a liking to this song , favourite is arizona amazig song xxxx

  • yeah that probably is new fans of KOL...

i listen to KOL since 2005 and i still prefer the first and seconds albums!!!!!

    the best ever!

  • dude all kings of leon music is awesome from Youth & Young Manhood to OBTN ... I heard KOL for first time in 2003 when came out with Red Morning Light, I like so much their old stuff

but theyre growin up like every musician must to do.

Many people make critics of their new sound because they're now a Mainstream Band and they're not your little secret band like before

  • same dood

  • Well, i mean....what can you say? EPIC!

  • nathan and calebs voices sound amazing together! love it too on 'spiral staircase'

  • i saw them at birmingham and they didnt play this. i like there new album and all but they should of played more old songs. and al the people around me only new the new album which pissed me off because i new all the words to every song. no offence to the people who only went to hear sex on fire but there old stuff is better but there new stuff is good. they should write more songs about cross dressin and killin people and fightin lol but im digin closer what a tune 1 of the best. peace and love

  • I'm with you. A couple of my mates hadn't heard of them before this album, It pisses me off aswell. Cus this, On Call, McFearless, Four Kicks... well basically all of them are amazing! It sounds like you don't like the 4th album as much? I fuckin love it! I don't mind anyway cus you said you liked closer which is one of my favourites also! :)

  • ya, the amount of ppl who say theyre KOLs biggest fans having only heard sex on fire and use somebody is huge, dont get me wrong i love the new stuff and the new style but i hope the next album has more of the "old" stuff yknow what i mean? but i dont think theyll go back to the old sound now that theyve gone mainstream, please let me know if im talkin rubbish =D

  • Well m8 at their gig @ CIA Caleb said that they've already started writing the new album and apparently theres loads of "black thumbnail" style songs, if that turns out to the be the case that will be fantastic. Bott is probably one of the best albums ever in my opinion :D

  • is that Cardiff International Arena?

    i was there

i dont remember him saying that

the only thing i remember him saying was 'we HAVE to play this one' in a bored way before sex on fire..

however i was in total madness for 90% of the time..:):)

  • glastonbury, does say in the video title

  • no its a response to another comment about him saying something, i know this isnt Cardiff lol!

what do you take me for... lmao

  • i miss when they were not fancy, i mean they are the same great musicians they use to look so old school, i used to love that :(

  • I saw em in Birmingham & they didn't play it, ruined the gig for me. Saying that, it was still amazing

  • I wish they played this at the O2, I really missed it :(

  • This is awesome. I bloody love this song!

  • sound is great, but much better energy on the album version. nathan seems lazy here

  • Great Song !

    One Of Their Best !

  • Great Song!

  • yeah really sounds great! thanks for sharing =)

  • This is amazong, its great how they slowed it down, that whole occasion that night was amazing.
