i think i'm making a connection here. when he bites things, he says no biting, because you say 'no biting' when he bites things. although he has no understanding of what that phrase means, he associates it with biting.
he talks really clearly though, what a pretty bird.
I think he's saying what his master saying to him all the time like ; No.. No biting.. No . Good.. xD So it's kinda funny to look him say that, for no reason ^^
I work in a lab that studies intelligence in Greys, and the funny thing is that, because their primary caretakers have always been female, they have female voices when they talk. Yours has a male voice. They're SUCH great imitators =D
@yerfriendsteff ah i just got one, its so hard to just get it's trust, i had it for 3 days, i only pet it one time when it was tired. did u get urs yet?
Maybe you need to spend some more quality time with the bird. Try half an hour, and treat it like your baby -- you should soon notice a difference in its attitude. Remember, it's like a 2 year old child, that actually needs a lot of loving attention.
Yeah, mine feather picks too mostly if he hears loud noises outside like traffic or construction or see things or people through the windows that scare him or if we move or move things in the house or he's stressed.
to answer your question: no, when they pluck their feathers it means the bird is being neglected and ignored, so they do it out of boredom/lonesome... i suggest you spend more time with the poor thing or at least give it to a home where he can be appreciated..
Nah hes far from neglected i spend every free moment i have with him. I asked his vet and he said that he might be stressed cause we just got him from a home that he had lived for like a decade and now hes moved.
thats good ;) yea i never thought of that. he probably is stressed from the move. but just keep up with him and i think theres a formula u can give him to help his feathers grow back ;) sometimes they have to wear a cone on their neck for a while haha.
@Benjaminb46 so does mine, i spend sooo much time with it, idk why its not evn liking me, he likes apples a lot, i give them to him, lets me pet him just a bit, and then tries to bite me each time i reach my hand out to him, and he plucks his feathers
@rkoots00 Im sitting with mine right now, and hes still plucking. My bird does the exact same thing. I'll scratch his head and then hill bite me for some reason.
@rkoots00 hes about 10 or 11. Getting close to those lovely teenage years. Hes always plucked, its nothing new thats for sure. My dad thinks he'll never fully grow his feathers back.
Earl is a great looking grey. I was watching this clip with my grey, Simon. Simon got excited when he saw Earl on the screen; he tilted his head, flashed his eyes and said, "Come on pretty bird."
he was looking 4 sum ball sack!
