Its still alive and running great. I have never had a problem with this console. I did upgrade the hdd to a 500gb hdd though. I play about 4+ hrs a day as well.

250gb would be just fine for the average gamer. I purchase everything from the PS Store every week and have lots of music and movies on mine. Still have 300gb left to fill.

My original 60gb died(ylod). Its okay, cause I bought it off of craigslist for

$275 and played it for a year and half. I am picking up another 60gb today for $250. I think i am the luckiest person in the world. But I am going to sell it for $450 and buy the MGS-LE 40gb. I don't have but one ps2 game(GT3) and I don't care for all the USB ports or card slots.

I might be the only one. But I still don't think so. I own a TV that is from a previous generation, before the flat widescreen televisions, and it looks fine for me. The only inconvenience is the game looking quite small on the TV.

Otherwise, it looks magnificent. That's just me, though. I'm just not as rich as you are. ;)

As long as you are happy then thats all that matters. Eventually you will have a 1080p or something like that and then you will be lucky enough to highten your gaming experience. 1080p is a thing of beauty.

I had been playing on a 480i television up until a few months ago. Now my PS3 and PC share a Dell UltraSharp 2007WFP. Unfortunately its higher res than 720p but not 1080, so it has to upscale the PS3 video stream. But theres a whole load of differences. Firstly, on composite (that yellow video cable), everything is super saturated. I find stuff kinda bleak now actually. Also, on a 4:3 480i, some things around the edges are cut off. And also text is MUCH more readable on HD for current-gen games.

I realized that when I played MGS4 on one of those HD TV's, in a place where the public can try games. and I was actually surprised by how beautiful the graphics looked. They were a beauty.

you could just get a monitor with tv tuning and there are some really cheap monitors with full 1080p capabilities

Man, I love the gun metal grey colour. It's surface is so different yet so simple that even after MGS4 dyes out (which it won't and won't ever!), you won't be sick of having your ps3 in that colour. It's so awesome!

I checked Konami's website and it says $600 bucks for the Gun Metal Playstation 3. By the way, mate does your standard Playstation 3 scratch easily? Like even when your wiping it down or just try to get dust off your PS3 with your finger?

The standard PS3 does scratch easily. You wont want to wipe your finger on it because it will scratch it. You will need a microfiber cloth to wipe it off. I like to use a Pledge Duster to wipe the dust off mine.

Yeah dude thats where i made the mistake at. lol. But i even hear that microfiber clothe will sometimes leaves faint scratches. I made the mistake one day of wiping dust off with my fingers and scratches appeared. I was so mad i blew 348 bucks on a system that scratches easily. I hope sometime in the future sony releases different PS3 colors that aren't so prone to scratches tho.

wow, the ps3 and psp werent made to be scratch proof, as long as the game works properly it wont matter, ShinAisuru i paid 650 for my ps3(2 games and PS2 rebate) it scratches really easily, its gonna scratch whether u like it or not, i kept mine clean for 3 months then i realized it comes out of the box with mini scratches because of the cloth they rap it in when u open it

Yeah i figured as much it scratches easy because the high gloss finish they use. I wouldn't mind if sony released the ceramic white PS3 over here, or better yet make a type of dark or navy blue one. Ya know? More options of colors is nice. They have it for the PS2 and PSP ya know?
