Well, it's a "program" consisting off many pieces, but the executable is written in pure 6502 Assembly.

The music however is not, and the boat / wave is animated with the help of sprites. Still impressive, but I've seen much better :)

By the way, the song is about a person speaking of a bot (in the sense of IRC automated bot) called Anna, kicking, banning spam and taking care of one channel. And eventually the person find out that Anna's a real girl and not a bot...

Often it is much better than the original, A great example being Scooter -J'Adore Hardcore sampling Chase the Sun by Planet Funk, both are great songs, but J'Adore Hardcore is completely different than the original, and I think better, at least depending on the situation. Chase the Sun is more relaxing, and J'Adore Hardcore DEFINITELY isn't, but still.

It's rather you who's failing. The Fairlight guys def. knows what an IRC bot is, and probably that the song evolves around one too. Why they chose to have a boat in the background probably has 2 reasons.

1. The original demo is about WWII.
