We never saw PopGear here in the states but caught it about 10 yrs ago on public tv and loved it. Many of the songs were popular in the States but I don't remember this one but after hearing it a few times I was hooked. Now with Youtube I got to hear a lot of their stuff and have concluded it was a shame they didn't make it to the USA with their music.
@Tonithenightowl this was the tokens song their version is better the berries blow the line when you werent home each time i phoned they dont call it a telephone in england [pop gear was on in the states before pbs on some local station somwhere
i thought it was goofy going from the spencer davis group to matt monroe]
@spacepatrolman I will have to look that one up by the tokens. I'm a Matt Monro fan but yes that was slowing it down a bit after the spencer davis group song lol Thanks for responding.
@Tonithenightowl matt monroe was a smooth singer they call him the singing bus driver and the british frank sinatra some confuse him with vaughn monroe who had a lot of hits before rock was prevelant
@spacepatrolman Yes my favorite of Vaungh's is Ghost Riders in the Sky. While I love his version, my favorite version of that song is done by Bowser of Sha na na. For a fast version, I like the Ramrods. Matt Monro in my opinion was better than Sinatra. What a voice.
@Tonithenightowl Sinatra [the dj william b williams called him the chairman of the board] wanted to do a movie with john barry where he sings the theme and acts in it john barry said he loves the way he sings but couldnt commit to a movie that wasnt filmed yet so it didnt happen
Almost as good as the Tokens version
