The fact is we, as a "higher species" have a choice in how something is killed/ eaten, and as such it should be the least painfull and quickest. At least that's the way it should be. Animals "lower" than us don't have that choice. Like torturing things do you? If so you have serious issues.
It "should be" is your subjectivity. You don't even know how fast or how slow the pain/torture that those animals face. Yet, you talk about fact.
A lion can bite an antler's neck hence breaking it and paralyzing its sensory system instead of starting at the leg or the back. But do they care? Whatever is the best way for them is how they'll do it.
We use our knives, they use their fangs and teeth. Again same difference.... Haha so who's the one with issues? The one complaining = YOU.
