I use Pliers and I Gently unscrew the cap.
Then I refill the wet jet cartridge with whater I want.
Another thing I do to save $ with the wet jet is I buy the washable microfiber cleaning pad that go on the Bona Hardwood Floor Mop and I cut them so they are the same size as the wet jet pads and place them on the wet jet

NONONO!! THIS IS BAD FOR YOUR SWIFFER! IT CAN CLOG THE SPRAYERS AND MAKE IT OVERHEAT, MAYBE MELT/CATCH FIRE.
