@blizzardxc1 I'll give you one, they are pricey but the safety record, not so much. Compare it to other aircraft currently in service and their (other platforms) mishaps are significantly higher
Funny as shit that the Crew Chief on the Osprey forgot to release his "Gunner's Belt" before exiting and as he stepped off the last step of the stairs "BO-INNG" LOL, bet he felt like an idiot!!!
seems as if it could easily roll over during landing or takeoff.
the huge angular momentum with the two turbine engines and the heavy rotors at the extremities - really make it look sluggish (esp. during landing) compared to a conventional helicopter.
I think it only has one (1!) gu and it's rear mounted.... Had to cut weight. So it's a sitting duck with no forward or side defenses.. I feel bad for Marines that have to fly this joke. And let's not forget the issues it has landing on sand or a loose soil base..
as a former 53E crew chief, i couldn't help but laugh with the crewmember jumped out with his gunner belt still on. i laugh only because i've done it before.
@FSXLOVER4 Practice for when they open those FEMA camps to collect all the people who go anti-gov (over the Economy, Oil Spill, Wars) just like during the Depression. Lol
@mandolinplayer13 because it's been perfected and is in use by the marine corps. It doesn't have the stabilazation probelems anymore. One of the most reliable and versatile aircraft in use right now.
Does this happen yearly?
