  • This movie is sooo nice!!

  • Absolutely Terrific Movie!!

  • Danke !!!

  • Hannibal has lost his French accent an his good looks :(

  • The actor who played Chief Inspector Rinaldo Pazzi did a very good job I thought. Why wasn't he nominated for an Oscar? Am I the only one who thinks this? The movie lost its momentum when he was hanged. I really believe that. The first half of the movie was good but the second half was too complex.

  • @TheLecheMilk I agree completely. Pazzi is a fascinating character. Once he's dead, the movie goes downhill a bit, IMO.

  • Hannibal: "Is this Clarice?"

    Person:"THIS IS SPARTA!!!!"

  • spoiler alert: ive always wondered does he still hav both hands at the end, did he he get it reattached or does he just hav the one

  • fucking good movie....

  • isn't that an error when Clarice says that "He killed three police officers while in custody"? because, in "Silence Of The Lambs, he kills two cops while making his escape from prison, tearing the face off one of them.

  • How did that one guy get cut by hannibal? The guy that he made it look like he bumped into him but he sliced him in an area?

  • What was she scared of?

  • I loved Jodie foster!!! Why'd they have to get rid of her -_-

But still I deadass still wanna watch this movie :(

  • @TheAnG3LLaTiNA115 They did not Jodie foster was scared makeing the first one that she did not want to return

  • i hate how sometimes in movies they swap the actor that played the original character in the seqal

  • Awesome movie, better than the previous. I don't know why everyone's bashing on Julianne Moore but I think she was far better than Jodie Foster. I loved the romance amidst an obscure story, Anthony Hopkins is an exquisite actor, he portrays Hannibal Lecter to the letter.

  • @MetallicSisters bollocks silence was far far better!

  • It's really too bad Jodie Foster didnt come back to do the sequel

But I heard somewhere that she didnt do it because it was too hard to keep up character, so I can understand that.

    But Hannibal is the best!

  • @labyrinthReviews it was a prequel, cuz red dragon plays before the silence of the lambs.

  • -"OHOHOHO Fantastic" ~on Frebruary 09

Santa was seriously late that year...

  • "Is this clarice?"

"No, but I can give you Jodie Foster's number."

  • @TheHonp "By all means then"

  • HOLY MOTHER OF GOD, wat d hell is in the end part, creepy brain eatin nd hopkin cuttin his own hand, lmao

  • More than Silence, this is about Clarice and her sense of duty. She warns Pazzi (bad guy for selling Lecter to Verger). Lecter then becomes bad guy for killing Pazzi. Verger's men under the protection of Paul Krendler (all bad guys) stalk Lecter (now a good guy). Clarice helps Lecter (good guy) escape and he saves her life, only to lobotomize bad guy Krendler making Lecter worse in her mind. Cuffs him in his moment of weakness, then FINALLY realizes his love when he sacrifices his hand.

  • HELLO CLARIS

  • @123456789backy clarice?

  • Hannibal-"Is this Clarise"?

    Person-"NO THIS IS PATRICK"!

  • what is the name of this film ??

  • @stollesen wow are you kidding me?what do you think dumbass?"Hannibal Trailer"?

  • @stollesen lol

  • Like if every time you see Anthony Hopkins in a movie you call him Hannibal Lector

  • Okay so what is this one about I never got to see it and the other one they made after this. What is it about? I love all the other movies

  • it was no Silence of the Lambs, but a great film for sure

  • The reason most people hate this movie so much is because there really is no plot to this movie, it's mostly just subplots. I mean there are so many of them and they don't really explain most of them. Like the Detective hunting Lecter, Krendler's businiss with Verger, Lecter closing in on Starling, Verger hunting Lecter. And even though Verger is the villian he doesn't seem all that threatining. Lecter feels like more of the villian in this movie

  • @LA1423 Isn't Lector supposed to be the villain, he murders etc?

  • @amemy1 I never look apon Lecter as the villian per say. I see him as more of a third party in the events of the films. In silance of the lambs it was buffalo bill who was the villian, and in hannabil it was verger. Hannabil isnt the protaganist or antagonist so to speak, he's a third party serving his own interests.

  • @blazegunshark yep, I see it.

  • @blazegunshark

Very intriguing observation. I've often thought about that myself---he's an in depth character, but also a catalyst of sorts with other characters. And yeah, people know about Bill but Verger as a villian was very clear to me; I guess with the latter people were so centered on Lector that they still did see how wicked Verger really was, even pre-disfigurement.

  • @LA1423 I suspect its because Hopkins is so good at his role as Lecter it just surpasses all of the other characters.

  • i must confess to you, i'm giving very serious thought.. to eating your wife.

you know, as you do, on a typical sunday afternoon.

  • @EmilyStation1994 Yes then the guy is all like: Oh ya go ahead she's been a major bitch.

  • the hannibal voice sounds like the joker in dark knight

  • is it just me or does Hannibal sound like Simon from yogscast

  • I think it Goes:

    Silence of the Lambs

    Red Dragon

    Hannibal

    Hannibal Rising

    Manhunter

  • i think Hannibals character is magnificient! he is educated and composed, which is usually unexpected in cannibalistic serial killers, but the actor pulls it off amazingly!

  • This one is my favorite out of the series.

  • @haleyteddy03 Agreed.

  • amm is the part 2 of teh movie?

  • 49 who dislikes is the friend of hannibal

  • ol skool

  • Anthony is great in this as always I only like Silence of the Lambs and Hannibal.

  • They couldnt pick a better person then Anthony Hopkins. hewas great in all of them

  • whats the difference between this part and the silence of the lambs? another version or a different movie?

  • @b0dyKiLLer Different film altogether. The films go: Manhunter (Brian Cox as Hannibal), Silence of the Lambs (Anthony Hopkins as Hannibal), Hannibal (Hopkins again), then it's the prequal, Hannibal Rising.

Manhunter and Silence of the Lambs are more about serial killers and Hannibal aiding in their capture. Hannibal is about Lecter himself.

  • @b0dyKiLLer Silence of the Lambs is when Hannibal in incarcerated and FBI trainee, Clarice, asks for his help on the Buffalo Bill case. In Hannibal it's 10 years later. If you've seen SOTL at the ending Hannibal escapes, this is him in Italy and Clarice has been working for the FBI for 10 years now. She's trying to track him down. So yes they are different movies based on a series of books.

  • What does he do? Does he eat people or what?

  • @TheRonaldNess Hannibal Lecter is a cannibal yes, but that's not really what makes him sick and twisted as people say.

It's because he manipulates people to do things to themselves. Forces people to eat parts of their own body, or as in one part of this film, convinces a man to carve off pieces of his own face whilst high, then feed it to his dog.

  • @Grigeral

That's one reason I mentioned to someone that Hannibal is a catalyst in a way---they do things to themselves, in a sense, Paul and Mason are characters that are punished by Hannibal because of this. Bad karma back to them, sort of.

Clarice is favored because of her honor, sense of justice, and virtue are true.

  • Comment removed

  • @TheRonaldNess That's why he's called Hannibal the Cannibal.

  • sick twisted my kind of guy hanibal

  • Doesn't look as good as the original...i was tiny when these came out do can anyone tell me what happened to jodie foster?

  • Jodie Foster didn't like the script for this one, mostly because I think she saw a original draft in which Hannibal and Clarice became lovers, like in the book. She felt this was insulting to her character, and so she passed on this one. And although they did change the ending,Julianne Moore wasn't as powerful in the role as Jodie was.

  • @Aislinnify In the book Clarice and Hannibal become lovers. Jodie didn't believe Clarice would ever do that, so she didn't want to do the film. Later on they changed the ending after casting Julianne Moore.

  • who in the hell is hannibal?

  • @dna2341 its me....im going to give serious thought abt u

  • Really, they remade silence of the lambs, this shouldnt have happened, i know its not the same thing, and that the same guy is playing hanibal lector, buth without judy foster, its just not the same

  • @masterbenjamin It's not a remake, it's a sequel based on the book series. Jodie Foster didn't want to do the film because in the original script they had the same ending as the book, where her and Hannibal become lovers. Jodie didn't believe her character would do that, so she passed. Later on they changed the ending after having cast Julianne.

  • @RayneM2011 well still, jodie foster kicked ass in the old moovie, thou <3 lector

  • the movie is so ...boring...

    silence of lamb was epic

  • The main difference is Jodie Foster makes you believe she is the character Clarice Starling. Julianne Moore is an actress playing Clarice Starling.

  • They removed the only thing i really liked about the original:

    JODIE!!!

  • the lack of Jodie Foster, made me feel like i had to get to know Agent Starling all over again. the only character i felt like watching was Anthony Hopkins' 'Hannibal the Cannibal,' considering Gary Oldman's character - 'Mason verger'' was too grotesque to enjoy watching or looking at.

  • can somebody tell me where the real hannibal killing happends with the mask

  • At least they kept Hannibal the same.

  • Jodie Foster was not in this movie because she had read the book and absolutely hated how disturbing it was. But the producers changed the ending anyway and by the time Jodie discovered this they already gave the part to Julianne Moore.

  • julianna more is aweosme in this moviebut i think jodie fostr is better

  • Daddy, I want to be like him when I grow up!

  • why does everyone hate the sequels..they were alot better than most other sequels..I mean this wasnt a saw movie..it was directed by ridley scott

  • I have been in the builtmore house many times! (Where this was filmed)

  • the silence of the lambs is the only good one the rest are load of wank

  • hahaha i like the ending lol i thiknk that the line is hilarios!!!!

  • Julliane Moore turned 5O but still she looks hot even now

  • @povilasbacevicius she's 50?! holy shit, she looks good!

  • In some ways I felt bad for Hannibal the Nazi's fucked up his head bad, if you've seen the whole saga.

  • 1:57 look at Anthony's right ear! What is it?! o.O

  • @DeadCanSee an ear...

  • @BuellerBueller95 nooo.. there's a fly! xD

  • i think jodie foster was better but julianne more suited this one, the sequal, more

  • This movie is even better than Silence of the Lambs!

  • Goodie Goodie

  • I love the books & films and am basically obsessed, in my opinion Julianne will always be Clarice for me, most likely because 'Hannibal' was the first of the films i ever saw. After watching 'Silence of The Lambs' Jodie Foster just didn't have enough... of SOMETHING for me to like her in the heroine role. Plus the chemistry between Anthony and Julianne is amazing, probably from their previous movie 'Surviving Picasso'. She's a stunning actress and isn't given the credit she deserves.

  • @streetsk8r96 good observation sherlock

  • nice,,,

  • the part with the asylum is in the deleted senes on the dvd

  • Anthony Rocks--i can watch this movie till im 99 years old--it gets better with age. They should make a 4th. Hannibal Rising sucked. Silence Of The Lambs was good though. Jodie Foster was a much better than that red head--she wasnt even attractive.

  • @CaveGuy2008

    Hannibal Rising was the fourth.

If you watch them in actual chronological order, it would go :

    Hannibal Rising

    Red Dragon

    Silence of the Lambs

    Hannibal

  • @Redlinesoldier2k3 My bad--i made a mistake--they should make a 5th--lol

  • @Redlinesoldier2k3 Well, if we all wantsta get technical 'round here, Brian Cox portrayed Hannibal Lecter in Manhunter (an adaptation of Red Dragon). That was made back in 1986. It's a good film. Brian gave a good performance, but nothing so iconic as Anthony Hopkins turn as Hannibal. So, really, there are 5 Hannibal films. No matter what people say, Hannibal Rising is worth watching.

  • I will admit that Jodie Foster played a great Clarice but i rekon Julianne Moore Played a better older Clarice

  • 49 people just got eaten.

  • judie foster cant speak shes like canw iw have thiws jobwww

  • judi foster cant speak shes like canw iw have thiws jobwww

  • I'm very proud of Julianne Moore's performance!!! Her and Anthony Hopkins were AWESOME in this movie!!!

  • I prefer "Silence...", but I still love this: I don't get why so many people think it's rubbish.

  • Trailer promises better story than the one in actual movie, it looks like he is coming back on his own will, for some purpose. Plus scene at 1:02 is not in movie, only in book.

  • Great movie. But the first one was really amazing

  • Gary Oldman and Anthony Hopkins are so good in this

  • Great movie for me;)

  • I like this actress, but Jodie Foster is better and I hate when film makers use different actors in sequels!

  • @brittanycgonzalez

    agreed

  • @brittanycgonzalez Julianne Moore is the actress in this one. Jodie Foster turned down the part because in the book ending Clarice and Hannibal become lovers, Jodie didn't believe her character would ever do that, so she passed on the film. Later on they changed the movie ending after having already cast Julianne Moore.

  • A lot of people hate this movie for some reason; personally, this was my favorite Hannibal Lecter film.

  • @1familyguyman Nope, there are technically 5 of them. Manhunter, Silence of the Lambs, Hannibal, Red Dragon, and Hannibal Rising. Manhunter and Red Dragon have the same plot almost, but Red Dragon has Hopkins as Lecter while Manhunter was made beforehand (Manhunter is really the first Lecter film ever made). Hannibal Rising also doesn't star Hopkins as Lecter.

  • @gaaraanime5

Finally, someone who agrees with me... I love this film...

  • @gaaraanime5 I agree. I think this is the best one too.

  • Awesome movie but too Dramatic For His real Doings! :D

  • they need to make another Hannibal lector film with anothony hopkins he can still do it!!

  • @mayen67 anthony hopkins did not even want to play in hannibal rising as a small part, so i think not

  • @drdrakee you dont know what anthony hopkins wants, Iam sure if a good film team came to hopkins and he liked the director, script etc another Hannibal lector would be possible.

i also google it and hopkins says he is doing another Hannibal movie

  • @mayen67 sorry for my mistake. i just saw iy whem i read an info about hannibal rising. mm can you send me the link of what you did fin about the new hannibal movie ?

  • AND the bad guy is British again XD

  • This film was a good nap

  • we are what we eat.

  • Kol

  • Cool

  • hahaha 1:25 :)))

  • @SilkroadDota haha

  • Great to see Lecter out of his cage and having fun. Ta ta.

  • Dr. Lecter would you like some fish. No, I would like to go out out and feast on 49 people tonight

  • i miss jody foster :(

  • Well, @dal4018, in addition to her dissapointment with the script, when Johnathan Demme declined to direct, Foster followed suit. I don't really know why she didn't do it. Ridley Scott I mean, Alien and Thelma & Louise? Hello! I love Julianne Moore, but she's not Clarice Starling, I was acutely aware watching the film how much better it could have been had Foster reprised......disappointing.

  • Twilight why was Jodie disappointed?

  • Jodie Foster was MUCH better imo.

  • @sayshel : as much as I like Julianne Moore, I absolutely agree with you.

  • @sayshel How so? I'd love to have had Foster play the part, but only because she's better looking and she's the original Clarice. Otherwise I think Moore played it perfectly!

  • @seblasian She looks like an annoying self-important woman and she is blond!

  • @sayshel Hmm, I can see that.. but still its about the performance, not the looks.

  • @sayshel I think her character came across genuinely professional and intelligent, despite of what she looks like.

  • @sayshel I know as soon as I started watching the trailer for this I was thinking and hoping "please let Jodi foster be in this one". Then when I seen she isn't I was like "awww no, she's my fav, I like it with her more".

  • @sayshel I agree, but the reason she didn't want to do a second movie was because the first one creeped her out too much... and can you blame her? :-P

  • @TheMaximusprime13 In the book Clarice and Hannibal become lovers, that's why Jodie didn't want to do this film. She believed Clarice wouldn't do that. But they ended up changing the ending in the movie anyways, so she could've still done it. But I don't think Julianne did all that bad. She's a hell of a lot better than some other girls they could've cast.

  • @RayneM2011

And i believe the producer started bitching about jodie foster....

'As an audience, I see Julianne Moore and 'Oh, I want to go to bed with her.' I see Jodie Foster, 'No way.'"

  • @sayshel I personally don't care who acts better than who else. But if you start with one actress don't replace her. EVERYONE NOTICES!

  • cool

  • Hannibal would pwn michael myers

  • @TomValedro No, Michael Myers has a big kitchen knife and can't be killed. (or just keeps coming back to life so that people can film yet ANOTHER remake) Hannibal has a...mouth. Still, this movie was awesome.

  • when do you think lecter started respecting/falling in love with clarice?

i was thinking about it on the bus today. i have yet to see lambs and hannibal, but after seeing the red dragon on tv i looked up some fan vids and i really want to go and rent these this weekend.

  • 1:26 The cinematographer youtube pooped Hannibal.

  • I'm giving very serious thought...to eating your wife...

  • @Huscarlavery wwhy is his name hannibal it should be cannibal

  • @imnotlegalist His name is Hannibal Lector, but his nickname is Hannibal the Cannibal. If Cannibal was really his name, that would be much less realistic.

  • @imnotlegalist His real name is Hannibal Lector. The name the police/and papers have given him is "Hannibal the Cannibal" it's his tagline like "Jack the Ripper" or "Son of Sam"

  • i never seen this whats the movie ALL aboute ??

  • I haven't seen this movie. Is the ending the same as the book? As shitty as it was in the book?

Silence of the Lambs was a much better story.

  • @tehUBERn00blet The end is not the same as the book.

  • @tehUBERn00blet

i liked the book. i thot the ending was really unconventional and original. and gary oldman was just too cool in this movie. too bad they dont show him in the trailer :(

  • @GorcStew It wasn't a bad book, I just had higher standards. It never felt like a believable story, and had no appeal beyond the character of Hannibal Lecter. And it takes more than just being unconventional for me to like an ending. Starling was uncomfortable with and frightened of Lecter, and suddenly, because of his THERAPY, they end up fucking. It really emphasizes the fact that the author was never an actual psychologist.

  • The only problem with Anthony Hopkins is that he's bald, he's an okay actor I suppose, but I always imagined Hannibal as someone who would never go bald...

  • @Joker2982 Say Anthony Hopkins is a okay actor is like saying Carl Lewis was a overrated sprinter.Hopkins is one of the top five actors ever!!!!!!!!!!

  • Funny how the worst of the series(discluding hannibal rising) has the best trailer.

  • Never liked Julianne Moore....

Even Madonna said it lol: "Wish me lock"

Body of Evidence directed by Uli Edel 1993

  • will someone tell me these movies chronologically like hannibal silence o.t lambs red dragon and all those

  • @althem22 It goes, in plot order---Hannibal Rising, Red Dragon, Silence of the Lambs, Hannibal.

BUT, in order of when the movies/books came out it'd be: Red Dragon, Silence of the Lambs, Hannibal, Hannibal Rising

  • @althem22 Sorry, I meant in order of when the films/books came out: Silence of the Lambs, Hannibal, Red Dragon, Hannibal rising. I'm sorry. I got it mixed up with my first comment

  • @PandaSkaboosh You are forgetting that there was a movie based off of Red Dragon that came out in 1986 under the name Manhunter. So the order is (where the movies are concerned) Manhunter, Silence of the Lambs, Hannibal, Red Dragon, and Hannibal Rising.

  • Hannibal Lecter, el mejor personaje de terror, interpretado por Sir Anthony Hopkins

  • SPOILER!! In the end of the book Hannibal falls in love with Starling. It's hard to imagain but think of it This way, Hannibal was in prison for 7 years without seeing a women and Starling was one of the few people who Hannibal trusted so if u put it that way it's a very good love story lol.

  • If only Hannibal can eat me, im very tasty p:

  • @Tarateesh I am coming.
