I actually learned how to play this quite easily from this video, bass notes and all. But, I have rather long hands, so, that may be the reason why I was able to reach all the notes more easily.
The easiest way of learning how to play stuff from synthesia-vids is to write down the notes played by left hand and right hand seperately and learning just a bit at a time - that's how I have learned from this video.
one of my favourite chord progressions by muse. Although I think the melody is a bit weak (yes my personal opinion) I love the progression of the choice. It has such a feel to it ....like a bit dramatic, unpredictaible, just how I like my music....a bit like 'heavenly' like they have in some of their songs (chorus stockholm syndrome, chorus screenager)..all have that thing about them why I like muse. Does anyone know other bands with chord progressions like muse? (not radiohead) ?
For the section starting at 2:58 the left hand is missing some chords and on the second play-through of that section (starting at 3:17) is supposed to have some have some different notes than the first time through. There's sheet music you can find on the internet that has all the exact notes.
i think there is something wrong - 0:51 - should be a c# 2 times followed by d# instead of just d#
maybe i am wrong but the d# sounds too high for me really - and when you listen the top note (c) goes up 2 times before it goes down to d (c->c# -> d# -> d)
It's not a cover since it's just a midi file being played back through Synthesia. Some people can learn from these and some cannot. Simply because some can't is not going to prevent me from uploading a video for those who can. I learned the song this way myself.
It's only because the sustain effect is making this look confusing, since the notes are held until the same note is pressed again. If it didn't have the sustain effect it would be really easy to learn from
I hardly play piano and have no music theory knowledge..and for people like me, these things are very helpful if i want to learn the chords (i dont care much abotu how its played, the chords make it magic) just for the knowledge of it..so if i compose a progression, i kind of know the tricks muse uses to make their music sound so interesting and fresh , instead of boring and mostly predictaible like most other rock/pop music ....
@GINGRASSMAN Honestly, you can learn how to play a song from just a cover if the camera shows all the notes. Just pause it when you can see the chords and it's just as easy as a tutorial as long as you don't mind pausing and playing and going over it a few times. I find it easier to learn a song through this kind of thing than someone telling me the notes and using a weird fingering.
@ryudodeviln48 Not necessarily. I learned this not to long ago. All you need is a sustain pedal and a quick pinky to hit the orange notes in the lower octave haha lol.
Since the sheets for this song were written in a way that makes them a bit hard to follow, I decided to try this.
Learned 80% of it in about half an hour. It sounds pretty intense, but it's very very easy to play once you remember the notes.

Using this tutorial and the solo tutorial by Muse4ever, I accomplished the unthinkable. I can now play Ruled By Secrecy!
YourDailyLaughz 7 months ago
Two days.
My hands are aching from stretching so far, the battery on keyboard is almost dead, my eyes are tired.
But I can play fifty seconds in. I feel accomplished.

You actually CAN learn off this.

great video, a few mistakes:
on the first chord of the chorus theres no eb in that chord at the top.
on the eb major right before edim, the eb major turns into ebmaj7 after 2 bars

Precisely. And if you use sustain anyway then learning the song is really no problem at all. People are just fooled by the length of notes displayed.
