Aside from being completely predictable from the beginning, this movie was extremely well made. It got a lot of bad reviews, but I liked it a lot. The movie plays out a lot like Black Hawk Down, except that they're obviously fighting aliens, not Somalians.

Yes, there are tons of war movie cliches, and a few bad one-liners, but they didn't detract from my enjoyment of the film. It's not groundbreaking by any means, but definitely as well made as any other war flick.

I was in the Marines and on tour in Iraq, and some of the guys in my Platoon wanted to beat another guy up because he was giving them the middle finger, lighten up it's really not that big of a deal......Neither was this move at the box office.

This move had so much potential, sorry to say it was completely destroyed by cheezy one-liners which had no realism what so ever to them while the rest of the movie was extremely well made and realistic. Loved the first 20 minutes, then it all went to shit.

Imagine: Sitting in the helo, knowing you are about to face an alien race who have the capability to cross the perpetual void, that is a battle that is going to be very one-sided. However, we humans know one thing, and we know it well. War.

Just watched the movie.

It's enjoyable but unfortunately forgettable.

Praise for Aaron Eckhart's performance, but the poor writing and direction fail to offer him any convincing support. Nevertheless, the special effort is top-notch and there is never shortage of spectacular explosions.

It's no Black Hawk Down with ET. It's just Call of Duty with Skyline.

By the way, the aliens kind of remind of the ones in Metal Slug.

Found this to be very dissapointing. Yet another alien film where they are portrayed as a threat to the earth. There's no evidence to suggest that they are hostile in any way, yet we keep getting these same style films OFFERS NOTHING NEW and is all special effects over any real substance.
