Nokia 6300 battery upgrade to BL-5C

both the 4c and 5c are the same and are interchangeable. I had an old phone that I lost with a 5c battery and a new phone with a 4c battery in it. I swapped the batteries (since the old phone needed charging). They both still worked and the batteries are both ok. I am glad a company like Nokia keeps their batteries and chargers the same when they change models. Way to go Nokia

Not bad, I succeeded but the metal cover was very hard to squeeze on. so I just punched the phone a couple of times in the table and - Voila! thanks, dude! :)

@zademon - Yes, the BL-5C fits into the X2-00 (No force required, or modifications) Just slips into place. Need to push alittle harder on the battery cover (back casing) to clip in, is all. All is fine, my X2-00 last alot longer now.

There is no need to do it. I'm already using a BL-5C on my 6300 without any modification. All u have to do is to force a little bit to put the battery in the phone.

How does the duration of the 970mAh version compare to the one of the 1020 version?

Is the size between these two the same, or will I have to "shave" the 1020 more than the 970?

I never have 970mAh in my hands. 1020mAh have a little bit thick tape around contacts.

If battery go into phone without any force, of course, You do not need to shave it.

About duration - You can interpolate values from this video info.

tried it... it went in but the battery kept sticking out.. the metal case wouldnt cover it properly and i tried countless times to close it... now my aluminum back sounds funny when i  put it on

hi-i also have a new nokia 6300 but found the battery life to be rubbish-does this work and is the battery life any better-if so i will go buy the mentioned battery-please reply as its doin my head in keep charging after playing around with my handset for an hour or so-it suddenly goes down to one bar-thanks-john

Can be done acceptably with a sharp kitchen knife if you don't have any sandpaper handy and you're careful where you put your fingers! Thanks for the guide mrecka. I squeezed the backplate back on and it seems to be running fine.

i have a old nokia 3595 phone that has a blc-2 battery and even after 4 years it still can go longer without being charged then the nokia 6085 that has a bl-c5 i just got. just don't make sense to me. i know that the newer ones have more stuff in them that need more power but still.

Hi, I bought a BL-5C and I never had to shave it down to fit in my phone. Just required alittle bit of pushing and tilting. Just to let you know I orded a 1020mAh BL-5C, no modification needed. Just fits right in the nokia 6300!!!
