Another reason Larry Hagman declined to reprise his role in this movie was because of a salary dispute.

As I had said before, the reason he declined to do the 2nd Jeannie movie was because he wanted to take a break after the end of his time as J.R. on "Dallas."

It's sad & a shame that Larry Hagman was no longer intererested in reprising his role as Major Anthony Nelson at this point. I'll bet the rest of "IDoJ"'s main cast were surprised to see Wayne Rogers don Larry Hagman's Air Force uniform. They were all probably like: "What the H-E-L-L are you doing in Larry Hagman's clothes?!!?". - LOL!

I wish that Barbara Eden and Larry Hagman could reunite and do an I dream of Jeannie Reunion movie together, along with Bill Daily, and somebody to play their son Anthony, but I don't know who would be a good choice to play Anthony though, but it would be neat to have Barbara, Larry, and Bill to do an I dream of Jeannie movie together. :)

He twice declined to do it: on this and the 1991 follow-up "I Still Dream of Jeannie," both because of his commitments to the 1978-91 TV series "Dallas." His 1991 turn-down was also alleged because he wanted to take a break after the end of his "Dallas" commitment.

Liked the movie...I always hated how the blinks were not the original sounding blinks in the movie. Was saddened by the ending.
