In the late 70"s Disco was huge, and I detested it. Some rockers thought they should incorporate the Disco sound and meld it with their own brand of Rock n Roll, ie: the Stone and Rod Stewart, the result in my opinion was disastrous. Thank God for the Kinks Sleepwalker, good song writing with amazing musicianship. Honerable mention should also go to J. Geils. Monkey Island, and also Pink Floyd Animals. Not a hint of Disco in all 3 albums....

@kinksboss1 i listen to everything by the kinks i love there old stuff but i really love 70's kinks seems like they came into there own with songwritting ray davies is one of the best song writters i'm a huge beatles fan so don't take offense but i think the kinks were way better and really under rated along with the animals those 2 bands should be talked about with the same respect people speak of the beatles and the stones

I never heard this song. Thanks for posting this. I saw the Kinks back in the Fall of 1971. Unfortunately their drummer was ill and a standby took his spot. After a while he got in the groove and I forgot about him not being there. Anyway, some young kid was sitting in front of me and he came for Edgar Winter's White Trash who opened the show. He never heard of the Kinks. It didn't take long before he realized how great the Kinks are. I said, "Shut up and listen". He did and enjoyed the show.

One of the very best shows I ever saw in my long life with many shows seen was The Kinks "Sleepwalker" tour. It was over 30 years ago and I still bristle at how underrated and undercovered they were. One reason it was so good (besides that album being so good) was the recent hits, notably "Celluloid Heroes" were done to perfection.
