  • wow maynard is so skinny compared to my beagle milo he is smaller in size and fatter lol! how do u keep urs so fit? mine needs to loose weight like around 5 kg i think he weighs around 15 kg or something. btw great video and cute dogs!

  • @milothebeagle08 - Thats kinda like me. I have two beagles.

Dutch (the boy one) is about 14 inches tall and weighs 20 pounds.

Maggie (my female, who was also the runt of her litter) is like 11 - 12 inches and weighes 18 -19 pounds.

They walk and exercise together, and eat the exact same amount, but she's a little fatty and he's skinny.

Everytime we go for a walk, people always point out how chubby she looks. : )

Maybe your dog just has a slow metabolism.

  • @CoolBeagle thanks yea maybe but when i take mine for a walk everyone says that he is skinny and they said usually beagles are fat because they eat a lot. but when he was just 2 months old i took him to the park (he was skinny at the time like under weight since we just got him) the man with 2 dogs came to me and started yelling at me because my dog was skinny but when i saw both of his dogs they were fat like really fat like one of the dog was like a balloon which was kinda sad

  • @milothebeagle08 Any vet will tell you its better to be a bit underweight than any bit of overweight, very bad for a dog's health to be a fatty

  • @milothebeagle08 - How dare he! Any vet will tell you it is better to be a bit underweight than any bit of overweight. I would have told that stranger he was killing his dogs and to piss off! hahaha rude people are everywhere

  • @MaynardandGertie yea rude ppl are everywhere but now whenever i take him for a walk ppl say he is skinny which is kinda a relief. we dont feed him that much anymore like we used to do when he was little. when milo was a baby he was so skinny, we could see his ribs. but now he's gotten a lot bigger and better but he does need to loose a few more weight then he will be perfect. i know for a fact that when we take him to the vet in november for his shots, they might say he is a little overweight.

  • Maynard gets fed EVO grain free food, 1.5 cups per day and get lots of time at the off-leash park. He basically gets zero human food, just the odd broccoli stalk or bit of cheese. We trained him with toys when he was a puppy instead of rewarding with a treat each time. They just get other grain-free food bites for rewards now since Gertie is allergic to gluten, and we were told that dogs don't care what size the reward is just that they are getting one and it's true for our pups!

  • @MaynardandGertie thanks so much i will see if they have EVO grain for milo. ur beagle is so healthy which is great! i wish mine is like urs. well ur lucky u let him off leash because the moment i let mine off he runs away he doesnt listen.. he thinks that i am playing with him. but at him he listens very well. i take him out 3 times a day and usually at home he sleeps he does have his own dog food but he doesnt really it. but time to time he does eat human food like chicken or fruits or veggies

  • @milothebeagle08 i meant to say at home he listens very well and follows me everywhere i go

  • @MaynardandGertie Hi!

I was wondering when beagles stopo biting?

    P.S. I have a 4 month old male beagle.

  • @rtn362 Hmmmm, well that may be a question I have no answer to. It really depends on their energy level and training. Maynard hasn't been a bitter since probably 12 weeks old, we worked hard on that one, we learnt our tricks from the dog whisperer Caesar Milan - check out some of his books or youtube vids
