It’s wonderful that you’ve made this, there’s so little love for the adaptations and book on youtube. I just adore that clip 2: 49 – 2: 58 when Gabriel tries to tidy himself up, so sweet :)
Shame on Troy, they would have managed on a Sergeants salary if he had wanted to, it would of been a simple life but they would of had one another and survived. Proof that moneys not everything in life.
I dont think she left him, she was upset at getting the wrong church service on the day and troy was mad and said he wouldnt go through that again and she got scared and upset then left, but troy shouldnt have left her uncertain of things at the church yard.
The bit with the rain on the tomb stone is where he is trying to put daffodil bulbs on the grave but the rain keeps washing the soil off. Him and Fanny never married.
@need2bloved32 - In the book its not very clear on that, they make plans for the wedding (Bans at church etc) then the following chapter just comes back to the farm at Weatherbury, no mention of confusion in Fanny going to the wrong church.
Troy was in the wrong though as he abandoned Fanny, just dont remember reading about Fanny going to the wrong church in the book.
@OurManInMarrakessh In Chapter 16 'All Saints and All Souls', Troy goes to All Saints church to meet and marry Fanny Robin. Fanny confuses the two church names and waits for him in All Souls, across the square. After half an hour Troy finds her outside in distress. He calls her a fool and tells her, "I don't go through that experience again for some time, I warrant you!", and then walks away from her.
Love this film. The book is wonderful and this film runs true to the original. I love the two leads and they have great quiet chemistry together. Nice job on this video. Thanks!
Nathaniel Parker and Paloma Baeza are ideally casted as Gabriel and Bathsheba; good acting all round. This is far superior than the 1967 film by Bates and Christie...
WOW! Had no idea there was a more current version. Sad to see not on region 1, but where there is a will, there's a way. Loved the book! Thank you for this!
I second mlbeaver's request. I've only seen the 1967 movie version. But I just finished the novel, have fallen in love with it, and would love to see the 1998 tv version. The only available DVD won't play in Region 1. Someone pleeeeaaaaasse post it. Thanks!
I have been searching for this version of Far From the Madding Crowd since it was on tv ten years ago. I can't find it online anyhwere to watch and a DVD is not available for my region. If anyone has the entire film and is willing to post it I would be extremely greatful. Thanks!
hi i am from denmark, i read this book when i was 14 years old. i actually did not now, that the book was adapted to a tvmovie.! I am looking forward to watch it. I luv this book1 thank you for this clip!
I haven't seen the film but I love the song even though I've never heard it before. I've never read the book or seen the film either but the clip in enticing, and I might do both. A very tall order!
I read the book last year and I thought it was great. The song is great; Sade was a one-off, her voice and look are so classy that she's really stood the test of time.
Eee?? No ile razy można komentować no??!! Aha, 5/5 i faworki LOL
I love this movie

I think her body is supposed to be too weak to survive labour and all.

Is it? Really!?
sugarkaneandchloe 2 years ago
Paloma Baeza is a great actress. Pity we don't hear more often from her. Her Bathseeba is far more realistic than Christy's
pepys1633 3 years ago
Oh? How so?
sugarkaneandchloe 2 years ago
Agree with you, Christie is more easier on the eye than Baeza, but Hardy's finest work.
Should of made Fanny Robin a Heroine, but not to be sadly.
HenrySimmerson 2 years ago 2
She's a heroine to me :-)
