Aye lads and lasses come and run To the sound of the highland pipe and drum Bring your old and bring your bairn Let them tell and let them learn We are Scots And then there are t'others Those who would be as we are Those from close and those from afar A dram for ye memories my beloved Da Both you and my Uncle Tam Gone from us now but strangely not From Shetland to Skye To rugged Inverness To all from Bonny Scotland Goodnight and God Bless!
@Ital890 I looked at your profile and im guessing you black by the way you speak. If you are black i doubt very much you have any Scottish in you. Be proud of your African routes i like African music. I myself am full of Celtic blood from around the British isles my surname is Burns (scottish) and other surnames in the family include welch which means native Briton who faught against the saxons. I have also got some Irish in me forgot the surname though. Im as pale skinned as pale can be lol.
Hello Please check out my video on youtube. It's a tribute to those who make the brave choice and fight for the things we take for granted. Seach Exit404 on youtube and let me know your thoughts. The song is "A Place Called War".
i am second gerneration canadain, my grandfather is from scotland and i sometimes wish i was born there. i love scotland and cant wait to come back esp for the bagpipes :D
@LedKenji666 Kinda yes and kinda no i think the Mackenzies were in Scotland a little longer the in Ireland, they are from the clan MacCoinneach which then went to the clan of Mackenzie (pronounced Mackenny) in England then then arose the Mackenzie's in Scotland which came from the name "MacCoinneach" meaning "Son of the Fair One"
It ocurred to me, if there were a person, one with scots blood born, and raised far and away from their birth parents and having no idea of their true lineage yet one day perchance they were to hear the pipes their heart would well up, a tear might flow and they would well know they were Scottish by God they would...
@DanOblacksmith I am not scottish, I know my parents and I know there is not a drop of scottish blood in my veins, but when I hear the pipes, by God I know that even if my blood is not scottish, the heart that pumps it is.
@Yodainacan i was born in italy but my ancestors were scottish and they fought the battle of Stirling with Sir William Wallace. That makes me so proud!
@DanOblacksmith i am not of this situation, but i was born and live in North Carolina, USA. The US is my homeland, but Scotland is the land of my not so distant ancestors and current relatives. To answer your question, in a way, yes, I do feel pride and my heart jumps at the sound of the pipes. I'm damn proud to be Scottish-American
@DanOblacksmith If my heart wells up and tears start flowing, but if I'm in no way related to Scotland, am I normal? Or is there some Scottish blood from hundreds of years ago?
