  • I just got the 2000xl and I'm brushing up on some tuts. You actually do it the way I have been. I'm just waiting on my midi to usb to arrive. But the fade on each chop is an excellent move! Didn't even cross my mind. So Audacity first, and shoot it straight to the MP....got it!

  • Dope video! I hear that Baltimore accent, its love out there! I hope you make more vids. Salute. Subscribed.

  • @PennsView Thanks a lot appreciate the support and thanks for subbing!!

  • Thanks man. But since you cant direct record straight in to the 2500 with JJOS, how do you get around that?

  • @woodstockl Hold your horses...homie...lol you can direct record with the JJOS. Track 61-64 are direct record tracks.

  • @OverlorBeats aight know doubt, i know what i gotta to do... respect Overlor

  • What's good Overlor. I have another question for you. Would you recommend JJOS or leave the 250 factory? What are the Pros and Cons....? Thanks.

  • @woodstockl i highly recommend the JJos the pro's is it is better and allows your MPC to work more efficiently or rather the workflow and the cons is to get the better one you have to pay but the free one is still better than the Akai os all day everyday.

  • @woodstockl JJOS ALL THE WAY .... ANY OF EM ' LOL

  • Video Tutorial I liked Respect for Good Work

  • Like you production sytle Olerlor. Question: Have you had the problem with the 2500 where samples cut off when adding drums? This has been happening to me for years and cant find the answer. Any ideas please?

    Thanks.

  • @woodstockl Do your samples and drums share the same program? This can happen if you have your sample and drums on the same program so for instance have your samples in program one or if you sample into the MPC and Autochop you can make it it's own program example (Sample 01) then place your drums in program 2 any more questions hit me up and let me know if this helps. If you are doing it this way maybe I can see if I can recreate your problem.

  • @OverlorBeats Thanks for you quick response. Yes I generally do have drums and samples in the same program. What I'll do is make a beat with the drums in one program and samples in the other and let you know how it goes. Thanks Brother.

  • @woodstockl No problem and good luck to you!!

  • Respect, I got a 2500 as well been thinking of grabbing a mv for a while, any suggestions ?

  • @ninestrumentals It is a great machine that if you find one you should be able to get it kinda cheap now since they no longer make them. I love it and it has a nice warm sound and does a lot I will still call it the MPC Killer until they drop the MPCR. I stil place it above there hardware units as far as capabilties it has a learning curve though but the Ease of use on the MPC is to this day unrivaled...Hope this helps.

  • Great beat!

  • @Lacior08 Thank you

  • @RossWilliam7 Thanks Ross appreciate it.

  • realy good man

  • and did you Get Clearances to get all theses sounds that you got!!

  • @zellymusic No need to get clearences unless you make money off of it, or use them for profit!!

  • Really like your method! ...

I admire your kick patterns aswell. =p

  • @BoatManBeats Thanks I truly appreciate it.

  • This is great, I really admire your way of making music. That was something special :)

  • @FKProds Thanks i appreciate the kind words and you stopping by to listen!!

  • that's a hot beat

  • I got an MV8800 4 sale! get @ me...

  • @BKLYNBOY7 what ya talking on price homie??

  • @OverlorBeats Make me an offer...

  • Great stuff. What I really dig about MPCs is that they can work as completely stand alone tools that help you get something down FAST. A laptop, plugins and a controller just seems to break the flow for me when making a beat.

  • @mostmusicisbad I agree & I believe the purpose of the MPCR is to prevent the break up of this flow. The best way to look at it is that it is an MPC but the Ram & storage are utilized by your computer. This gives you more sample time & storage space. also allowing you to transport your tracks to ProTools,Logic or any other Daw with out having to use 8 outputs & a bunch of cables going into an interface it is all in the box. Also you can export as an MPC2500/1000 & MPC5000 file how cool is that?

  • @mostmusicisbad Or do your beats in your MPC as you always do then save the project and then upload it in the MPCR to take it into your daw for Mastering or additional production and post production.

  • I have own every mpc there is ... i never have thoughts of selling them!!!

  • @JamaiBand I truly understand. The MPC helped me build my studio. I would never get rid of my MPC2000xl, My MPC2500 maybe for a limited addition, MPC1000 I can always get those, I would like a MPC4000 & MPC5000. I guess I am saying I envy you a little if you have everyone ever made...lol

  • You really did Amy some justice with this one. You made it look way too easy tho...

  • @tdlee31 Man thanks I appreciate the compliment.

  • nice

  • @fatclarke Thanks

  • You sick gear junkie you!! I guess you'll be getting that MPC Renaissance too, once it drops, huh?lol I'll be glad to help you get rid of some extra gear/junk that's cluttering up your room and stifling your workflow! Just send me that MV-8800 and we'll call it a day.

  • @4iamu Lol well my rule is you never get rid of gear unless it helps you get more gear. So what do you have to offer in return...lol. I would not get rid of my MV8000 or MV8800 both are to special to me. But my MPC1000 is another story.

  • FRESH!!!

  • @JAHZILLABEATS Thanks appreciate it.

  • Holy multiple MPCs..

  • @avinborg1 lol...I know right...I would have an MPC museum if I had the resources. I would be like Jay Leno but for drum machines.

  • @avinborg1 the one on the far right is actually an MV800.

  • @Capecodone Trivial but the one on the far right is an MV8800 I have an MV8000 on the far left. I do own 3 MPC's though.

  • @OverlorBeats Lol, my bad!!!

  • @Capecodone Oh no problem...each one teach one. I am glad you came through to check the channel and leave a comment...Thank you.

  • those black pads look hella sexy on that MP, if you'd just added the blue LED screen (Y)

  • @Sytrusze I will definitely get the black screen would like blue and white led lights for my buttons as well.

  • Thumbs up if you thought it was Amy Winehouse making the beat.

  • @RabbiChris11 1st comment I got like this, reading the description I would think the same although that was not my intensions when making the title...lol. Knowing this now I would not change a thing...lol thumbs up and I was the one making the beat...lol!!! thanks for coming through and sharing...That made my day.

  • @OverlorBeats Haha nice! Serious talent, btw. I am just getting started with an MPK25 as a new hobby; much appreciated for your inspiration.

  • @RabbiChris11 No problem and thanks for stopping through.

  • your voice kind of reminds me of xzibit

  • @WhiteManRampage Lol ... thats funny but it is always wierd hearing yourself.

  • I notice u also have a 200XL and the MV. From your previous comments do you prefer the MV or the the 2500, cause you seem to be very good on the 2500? I have a 4000 that I got about three months ago and I havent even really looked at it. Currently, my workflow is going good: I use the 2500 to sample and sequence, and I flesh out the traks using Ableton Live 8.2.5. I've been a Live user since version 2. Just curious on your thoughts about work flow. Im hesitant to use anything else right now.

  • That's what I was told about the learning curvature, is higher in the mv, but also, there are a lot of capabilities that are mising in the mpcs...

  • Thanks for your answer.

I think that the 5000 (i had one, but I sold it) it's a very capable machine, but it has numerous bugs and Akai's people forget about the OS updating, for that i changed to a 2500 with jjos...

Although i miss the big screen and certain little things of the 5000 (the exit adat, for example)...

Regarding the mv topic... I think the mv is more liek a DAW machine. More "recording studio" than "for playing direct" machine, am i right?

  • @zame981 The MV is great for playing direct and remixing on the fly it is a beast of a machine. It does give you a DAW feel but it is all hardware. It syncs up beats and samples which makes it great for live perfomances. It is also a more studio capable than the MPC's. Roland truly abandoned a great machine. Now MPC's are a staple in hip hop and it's ease of use is unmatched in my opinion and has that feel that makes beatmaking fun. The MV does also but there is a learning curve.

  • @OverlorBeats

Which do you prefer the XL or the 2500? I heard the sound on the 2500 was weak and the jog wheel also a big negative. thoughts?

  • @RikAmmo The MPC2500 has a great sound in my opinion. MPC2000xl knocks a lil harder but you get more ram, sample time, effects, edting features & better chopping with the MPC2500. I also have a 120gb HD with my sounds a DVD drive & compact flash all these modern features makes it way better. I love my 2000xl & use it for the limitations to expand my creativity. Both are excellent machines!! Jog wheel on the 2500 is nowhere near as nice as the 2000xl but it does what it needs. hope this helps.

  • Nice job man! ;)

  • @VidozMusic Thank you I appreciate it.

  • Nice work man... What do you prefer? The Mv or the 2500 with jjos? I have a 2500, but i'm thinking to buy a MV...

  • @zame981 I like them both but the MV is more powerful and allows me to do more things. MV in my opinion is better even better than the MPC5000.

  • nice trak dude

  • @bigdeseil Thanks I appreciate you watching.

  • Another great vid. About how much do you layer your drums? cause that kik and snare sound so clean, yet it's got just the right amount of air and crunch. I've just perfected the art of drum layering and I'm just curious as to how you do it. I haven't sampled my own drums sounds yet, but that's my next step. Keep it up, Peace!

  • @djceejaay I have no single method. On that beat I took 2 kicks & 2 snares that complimented the sample and I layered it by striking both pads at once. I have layerd as many as 21 different kicks & panned some to the left, some to the right & left some dead center just to see what I could come up with. I use audacity, T-Racks & Izotope when layering drums. I always go for a unique sound. May do a video on this topic one day.

  • hey dude is ur mpc connected to that computer monitor or is it running seperate? also did you sample that from vinyl into your mpc??

  • @starryearlive The computer monitor in front of my MPC is connected to the MV8800. My MV8000 & MV8800 both have a VGA hook ups that allow me to hook a monitor & mouse. I have a Desktop computer & over a TB of music so I pulled the music from one of my files and imported into "Audacity" where I chopped the samples. Also my computer has a card reader so I put my MPC formatted compact flash card into my computer & dragged & drop the files then took that card put in my MPC & loaded the samples

  • Good work man!

  • @OnlyRawAudio Thanks I apprecate it.

  • This french cat posted on a couple other MPC vids talking reckless. Pay him no mind!

  • Even with Amy Winehouse's strong UK accent.. She spoke better English than you here..

  • @attractivefrenchguy Thanks your opinion is much apreciated. Take care wish you well.

  • @attractivefrenchguy Imagine that, someone from England speaking decent English. I am mystified as well but at the same time I understood Overlor completely and thought him to be kind and witty, neither of which could be said about you.

Great beats man, I was really feeling that and I am gonna listen to what ever else you want to put out there. Keep it coming.

  • @attractivefrenchguy I dont know where ur from but You should be commenting about HipHop and Overlors talent, not commenting on someones SPEAKING ability. What up Overlor! Call me Brah! ~ Logikbomb (DC PRODUCER)

  • @attractivefrenchguy no mate she had a mild ENGLISH accent, and she was from ENGLAND you stupid cunt, theres no such thing as a UK accent you fucking prick

  • @attractivefrenchguy OMG, Who the hell cares?

  • IAudacity...So sweet

  • @BORN7SUPREME I know I love that program and I will be forever loyal to it.

  • I have both the MPC4K & Roland Mv8k both rock anything takes time to learn nice video Bro!

  • KOOL VIDEO

  • @nizzobeats Thanks Nizzo Appreciate the sub and thanks for coming through.

  • I have used both mpc1000 and the 2500. I am a REALLY big fan of the 2500 it is great and the sampling engine is better than the 1000. I also have a MPD 26 which is nothing more than a midi controller. I have a new set up that I use for my Daw, a m-audio keyboard, and a the MPD 26 with a few other tools of the trade. I like my set up. It is good but not the best bc I don't have the best money... with that being said... it is not what you have it is how you use what you have.

  • i c yuh got the rolland mv im syppose to get one 4 christmas but i liike the mpc

  • @lildog1s The MV is the MPC killer...lol but the MPC is easier to learn. The MPC2500 or MPC1000 would be your best bet. The mpc2000xl is great just not as powerful. If you really want to go hard get the MPC5000. They don't make MV8000's or MV8800 anymore so you may have to get them used.

  • yah but i cant afford one

  • wat yuh gonna do with tht white mpc

  • @lildog1s Lol thanks for checking out my page. I still use my MPC2000xl. I love it cause it is a big part of hip hop beat making used by the likes of Pete Rock, Heatmakers, Kanye West etc. Is it safe to assume you are looking for a MPC???

  • dope brother!

  • @ignorantSlinky Thanx

  • good stuff bro. how do you hook up your mpc to your pc?

  • @1mexican08 I did not hook up my MPC to the computer. I took the compact flash card and put it in a card reader in my computer and transfered the sounds onto the card then put the compact flash card in my MPC and imported the sounds.

  • @OverlorBeats

oh i see. never tried an mpc or anything of the sort. i mainly use DAW. I wouldnt know how to go about it. Anyhow, you seem to get hang of it. Again, GREAT stuff!!

  • @1mexican08 Thanx

  • you really know how to make music .... thumbs up ^^

  • @groll221 Thanks Groll

  • nice

  • @thatstheguy07 thanks for watching and commenting very much appreciated.

  • Shitz nice B. Yeah, u chopped it up real nice. Soundz like something Ghostface would spit too.

  • @nuffsd Thanks

  • This junt hard bruh

  • @R2TheArTisT Thanks appreciate it.

  • Nice beat man, I was looking for some Winehouse sample beats before she passed & there was only like 2 & both were shitty lol. But after she passed all these sample beats popped up & I just think it's weird how people don't realize good music until it's too late.. All in all, a good beat my dude. Just something I had on my mind lol.

  • @OfficialSykoSolja I agree I liked her music a lot I just don't make a habit of using samples of artist that are real current, so I did it more as a dedication and to pay homage. Thanks for the comment and checking my channel I truly appreciate it.

  • what program do you use to chop samples to make kits?

  • @liltuber921 I use Audacity and Recycle the most if I am doing things on the computer. I like using audacity because it allows you to use plug ins. I can then layer, add effects compresion etc. to make my drums sound the way I like.

  • @liltuber921 EPP Rub-Down

  • You have a good honest style. Peace from the UK!

  • yo i got pro studio books 4 sell any body can hit me up

  • you got that old tascam fake mpc

  • Sell Me onr those MPC's big homie overlor

  • @dudeman30075 If you sincerely need an MPC I may have an MPC1000 for sale. Keep in mind my stuff is quality and I don't sell them at outlet prices...just saying...lol

  • @probablecausept That is definitely possible

  • @7thgroove Thanks I really like the MPC2500 I have a MPC1000 with black pads as well and they are practically the same machine just a lil more options with the MPC2500. I think my next upgrade will be the black screen.

  • Nice work in reppin Amy's memory with all her album sounds.

  • @Sinosure Thanks my man I will actually be putting the other video I made using her sounds over the weekend should be up no later than Labor Day check for it.
