actually..in the movie..they make it seem like pu yi intentionally didnt go to england.. Truth is england didnt want a riot in china because of them, so they declined pu yi the visa..so really in fact pu yi had no choice but to go to the japanese to continue the lifestyle he's had since the day he was born..i think if the movie directors had elaborated how the english/western countries didnt help him..would have helped the sorrow theme of the movie more
