While they may not be as powerful as a player's rifle, I like having the additional firepower at times. Plus, the enemy will sometimes be distracted by the turrets and try to attack them instead of the away team, which gives us the opportunity to do more damage.
@bsjt: How could you possibly watch this mission through and not be sold on this game? All the story based mission are like little episodes of star trek! This mission's more like a movie though.
Never understood why they decided to ditch armor the the future...

Are the turrets really useful, and is it an Engineer skill?
Thanks for this. I am not sold on the game which looks too focused on clunky MMO combat rather than being a good Trek experience but you make it fun.
