whoever gave 10 points to mrhamza is a idiot. bulla is not spreadin islam.listen carefully and understand the poem.he is sufi, unlike any current muslims in the world today. those muslims of yesteryears are gone. bullah is like kabir nanak adi shankaracharya, and few more in guru granth sahib.u cant find those muslims anymore.because if u do, then u will see him praying to idol.he wont complain.
Abdullah Shah aka BULLE SHAH, one of the most popular sufi singers says through this song that he does not no what and who he is. His main aim was to emphasis how useless or overrated religion is. He was a humanitarian who believed only in living life in the most fair way possible. We as human beings need to realize that all religion does is divide people. It is a tool employed by various people to worship the same person in different ways. I hope we can live like that one day. Free of hatred!
As an Punjabi let me tell u something, We got Waris shah. Bullah Shah, Data sahab,,Guru nanak sahab, and thosands of other great philosopher...........
At a level of Art,,Philosophy, we are the one of the best culture and a ruling culture in Asia especially in India & Pakistan.............
Still producing Noor jahan, Nusrat, Rahat, Atif, Wasim,Yugrag,Qasmi,Fraz,Faiz,Manto and thousand of others
Plz dont say good song etc. Bulla shah was a great sufi saint who is the pride of punjab, sikhs love him as much as any muslim. He brings all faiths together because he was a great humanist first and foremost.
its like Allah is saying to Shah saab that wat u know who am i(Allah)
its like a Hamd(tareef of Allah)... but offcourse its very very deep as well the lyrics of Shah Saab....n offcourse the singer n music add the huge value to the rhythm... full marks dude....
This sufi song is written by Syed Abdullah Shah also known as BABA BULEH SHAH in 16th century. It is because of him the spread of Islam in Punjab. May Allah Bless His Soul in Peace. Ameen
@MrHamza1906 thanks a lot sir!! as u must have seen d previous comments, so many people have been asking who is "bulla"? i didn't have this knowledge too...thanks for ur precious comments...!!!
@arpitkh2005 You must not forget how he hated the mullah of his time that had twisted the true islam much like the mullahs of today. He believed in the one true god and understood how god is everywhere even within us, and he sought to spread love between muslims and hindus.
@MrHamza1906 How could he lead to the spreading of Islam, when he himself has said in this beautiful song that he is neither musa nor farahon, nor sikh etc... the beauty is that he doesnt know who he is (Which is the case with all of us). Its not about religion, its about knowing the truth that none of us know who we are. Its about searching yourself within you, within your heart, within your soul. Its not confined to any holy book, its beyond that. Let Peace Prevail !!!
@MrHamza1906 I disagree. Baba Bulleh Shah was a great humanist, he respect people of all faiths. He is loved in Punjab by everyone because of that fact.
@manga2710 ..what do you mean you disagree? he stated the truth, bulleh shah was a sayed muslim, mr hamza is 100% correct sir, if you dont like the truth, bring your own proofs, otherwise accept the facts..no one said bulleh shah didnt respect others..what exactly do you disagree with, that he was a muslim? thats your problem mate, not his or anyone else's.
@bagshitass I have no problem with muslims so relax. Baba bulla is respected worlwide, my point was that he did not set out to spread Islam in the punjab. Of course i know he was muslim.
@bagshitass I only wanted to praise Bulleh Shah, so yes please leave it. Regarding how Islam spread into the sub continent well thats a different story.
@bagshitass I have no problem with muslims so relax. Baba bulla is respected worlwide, my point was that he did not set out to spread Islam in the punjab. Of course i know he was muslim. If you ever take time to listen to his kaafiyan you will understand he always questions faiths in conjunction with life.
@manga2710 true, Bulla Shah philosphy and Sufism in general drew heavyly from upanishadic thought.Llisten to Adi shankracharya's 200 BC Shivoham, same sentiments & same phrases (it is on you tube with translations) when this land was going thru violent conversions many did convert but did not change the way they expressed their faith.Sufis were prosecuted by Muslim kings coz they were corrupting Islam with the philosophies of pagans!!
@mishsood Bulle shah will always remain a beacon for humanity and tolerance. He contributed so much to the punjabi culture that a mere mention of his name brings pride to my heart..
@MrHamza1906 if he did spread islam in punjab and if he did write this, why does the lyrics say "nor do i believe in the mosque", im just wondering???
@ZlatanKakaTorres786 believing or not believing in mosque doesnt mean u r a muslim, lol. One must believe in Allah and his messanger Mohammed saw if wants to be good muslim
@MrHamza1906 can u please tell me how a muslim can "not believe in a mosque"???. After all, the masjid is bait-ullah (house of Allah) right???? If a person is spreading the word of Allah, how can he say that he does not believe in the masjid? to me that makes no sense at all....
@MrHamza1906 .. Thats your miopic vision, sir. He never followed the Mullah of his times. Do you know that after his death in 1728, the Mullah of those times didnt even allowed him to be buried at the community burial place? Had his teaching being followed to core, Islam wont have been called the "Religion of Terrorism" as it is widely called now. He was beyond religion.. People like him dont need to spread religion, they themself create new religions.
@jyotipg Excuse me sir,if u'd ever cared 2 do thorough research on Islam u'd know dat Islam is all about inner n external peace. It is all about spiritual discovery.Being Muslim does nt means that u do nt respect other enlightened souls whether Sikh or Muslim. Those who call Islam Religion of Terrorism make me laugh! @MrHamza1906 Wikipedia calls him a Punjabi Sufi poet, a humanist and philosopher.
"His poetry highlights his mystical spiritual voyage through the four stages of Sufism"
"Bulleh Shah’s poetry and philosophy strongly criticizes the Islamic religious orthodoxy of his day"
"Bulleh Shah maintained that violence was not the answer to violence. Bulleh Shah also hailed the ninth Sikh Guru, Guru Tegh Bahadur as a Ghazi, or "religious warrior", which caused controversy among Muslims of that time."
@MrHamza1906 I can´t see how he can be said to have advocated any religion. I think he rather saw some religious traditions and some religious teachers as useful guides to search for a God and solutions for religious conflicts.
"Bulleh Shah’s writings represent him as a humanist, someone providing solutions to the sociological problems of the world around him as he lives through it, describing the turbulence his motherland of Punjab is passing through, while concurrently searching for God."
