This is a great commerical, it shows the other side of the dream team, the game being stolen from you, and also the calm, state of the one that stole it. he focus,a and finished. enough said.
This is one of the greatest commercials ever made!!! I love the way he turns and looks at the camera at the end of the commercial, so bamf, so awesome.
the caravaggio-esque lighting and color add so much drama and power to this commercial. the glory stolen in that crushing moment. the lone player looking on cruelly. damn. it really hits you.
It's definitely to Nike's credit that we're sitting here playing the critics of a commercial trying to sell a shoe
funny thing is i lost a game today the exact same way. only differences were the score, the kid who scored didn't dunk, and our wildcat team color is blue and white, not orange. Scary part the losing team here is the wildcats in this commercial and what happened today o.o
As I said in my post, I think it's a recognition, or even a celebration, of a concept EVERYONE who supports a team passionately is all to aware of: The Painful Loss. No matter how good or dominant your team, it can (and will) happen, and as such, I applaud this commercial profusely.
The lights, music, music, directing and editing all represent a dramatization of a moment. the whole 60 second commercial takes places in about 5 seconds. The message being sent is of basking in the crushing defeat of your enemies. The ephemeral XX2 wearer is the only one celebrating among all the losers. It also shows that this basketball thing means a lot to a lot of people.
I think the point that they're trying to get across is "To achieve your dreams, you sometimes have to crush others'." This is right on the money if you consider MJ, see 1998 NBA Finals, Game 6 @ Utah.
This commercial takes my breath away; and it's not just because Mozart's Lacrimosa is beautiful (which it undoubtedly is). Rather, I just love the idea: an ad which highlights, nay, CELEBRATES the concept of the gut-wrenching loss, the heart-breaking defeat.
The imagery, the musical backdrop, the authentic reactions of the actors, etc. This is just a great commercial; I can't put too fine of a point on it.
It starts peacefully and then at :12 when the vocals com in, the guy comes from out of the black to steal the ball. Then at :24 when he lifts off, thats when the crescendo starts, and when he dunks, it comes back down. Then the dark, sorrowful music starts when everyone is crying. Then he stands over them powerfully at the end like a bad ass. The motion and the music are so beautifully paired it's stunning. Metaphor at its best. Mozart and Nike and Jordan, great combo.
SO Great!, The commercial is Wonderful, God Is good! I LOVE this commercial it's so real and to me at the end the person who is playing is just amazed at his own skills and it's symbolizing the greatness of Jordan!, and almost like the future of Jordan himself by being so great! God Bless
Pure raw human emotion...but I think its funny how the dude who stole the ball just stands there when ppl are screamin and crap. I agree with Coldsun3000.

Yes but it's just High School basketball. Unless your a LeBron or Kobe type of player your gonna lose a game quite often.
