@pennylayne4 . Me too. There was a great hole below where the trailer park is now in Sierra City. It got washed away in 64 flood. Swimming under granite boulders is my favorite
Wow.....that's great seeing the Yuba River in here. I lived in Pike for two years and I spent most of each summer at the river. Thanks for shooting that Bridge too. You should shoot the covered bridge as well. That one cove looked like Strawberry. Thanks again!!
You should have jumped off of acid rock. @ 4:13 that rock that you pan to is totally jumpable. you just gotta clear that one shallow rock underneath.
And yes, sadly many river spots are now overcrowded with people from the Valley and elsewhere. certain private trails to some of the best spots have even been closed as a result of people littering/defecating/graffiti at the river.
@MyspaceStarJames what i like about yuba river is that the water is clear. what I also like about it is that there are some places that you can swim under the rocks and back up and also see some fish, tried catching one but there pretty hard to catch.
Just to clarify: the River and its beauty is still the same, but Bino43 is right about it now being over-crowded with people from Sacramento and the surrounding area who trash it up and take up all the space that use to be there to enjoy. So sad. I was gone in Alaska for nearly 4 years, and although the beauty of this area is still the same, there seems to be twice or three times the amount of people here now.
A friend of mine from the North San Juan Ridge was just lamenting about how it once was just a few naked hippies, and it was wonderfull.....now it's a shit-ton of Thugs and Beer Gut Lurkers trashing the place and clogging up every nice swimming hole drinking bottled beer, which they leave behind the bottles, many broken, and bring stereo equipment and blast Frat Rock and do Meth.......fun.
Pretty nice shots man.!!!

Some of my best memories were on the Yuba River in 1976 and 77. I hope it hasn't changed too much.
