Diablo battle chest is combination of Diablo 1, Diablo 2, and Diablo 2 Expansion and Guide book. You should be able to find them for around $39.99. I probably bought 5 sets already blizzard banned my cd keys for running map hack.

best bet is to just download it. the dl version doesnt have lag in certain spots like the cd does. as far as I know Im one of the only ones on b.net still using the cd version. :P

@Nerthing I have played it. The controls are horrible, the fear factor just isn't there - even though so many claim how frightening the butcher is, it isn't. The game is slow and the fighting is deeply unsatisfying.

I wouldn't call this a timeless classic at all, Diablo 2 does a WAY better job to grab this status, and other older games such as Donkey kong beat D1.

Actually the monk was blizzards idea, they just didn't add him in the original. However the game is pretty neat, with spells, espcially search, apocalypse, nova, immolation, but bug levels were kinda lame.

Hellfire was produced with Blizzard's legal agreement and they did make a meager profit off of the game. Giving the OK to another company to produce a sequel or expansion for a game you made isn't unheard of today, and it was even more commonplace in the 1990's (Wolfenstein 3D, Doom, Quake, Quake II, Diablo, Warcraft II, and Starcraft all had expansions made by game development groups other than their original designers).

Thats not true, you can go online with Hellfire with a patch that activates multiplayer mode. But i dont go online anymore with this game because there are too less of players.

You've made a pretty big mistake giving him arcaine's valor. Monk is a char that has biggest defense with light armors.

Actually, Arkaine's is great for a Monk. While yes, light armors give the Monk bigger AC bonuses, when it comes to Unique armors, the bonus is determined as if it was a type below what it is. So even though Arkaine's is medium armor, since it's Unique, for the Monk it's treated as light.
