  • i love your car! where did u get it painted? and whats the name or code? i would love for mine to look like that :)

  • @ajclark95

That is the original color of the car. The only thing painted on the car is the fiberglass fenders, hood, and trunk.

I'm not sure that the name code is for it. I do know that people call it Silver Blue but I'm not sure if thats the exact number. I haven't met anyone with this exact color, people have gotten close but I have yet to see someone match it.

I will try and find out for you,

  • @ajclark95 its the original ford color, the code is known as a code "Y" silver blue 13045 for the 1966 year. I just painted mine the same color :) Hope it helps.

  • @ajclark95

Yup brownmetal is correct, it is Silver Blue, he has nicely given you the code because I didn't know that one :)

  • The cam sounds great

  • sound good man i just bout a b303 and 1.7 rocker for my stang hey r u running a c4 if so did you need to put a bigger stall?

  • Ya went with a TCI 2400-2800 stall speed.

  • nice sound, I like it.

  • hot damn, thats a nice motor you got there. Those are huge heads for a 302 but you obviously know what your doing. great job on everything. Especially keeping it mostly stock looking. I say stroke it out to make use of those oversized heads though.

  • If anything, my next step would be throwing a supercharger on it.

  • Haha now thats the spirit. Would you be going for the weiand roots style or a centrifugal supercharger?

  • The centrifugal supercharger, but I'd run a carb. bonnet.

  • ur best bet would have been to keep the stock 289 but raised it to a hi-perf dual quad tunnel ram

  • Seriously? Do you know anything about how an engine works? Giving the small 289 a dual quad tunnel ram would basically remove all the low end the motor could make, and the combo would be of no good with a stock cam, compression, or the restrictive heads. Trust me, don't give ill advice when you obviously have no idea what your are talking about.

  • You don't put dual quads on a stock 289! You need some serious mods to support dual quads on a motor. I have seen guys put dual quads on a motor and their all show no go.

  • harhar. at startup it sounded like popcorn popping!

    Nice ride, though.

  • ok i have a 1966 mustang 5.0 engine as well now i have a rear end thats 3:00 posi but it spends the tires for a second rpms drop and lugs off the line then revs back up and pulls i think i have to high of gears now does the 3:55 good enough to pull of the line fast oh i had a 4 speed

  • The 3:55's will definatly help you out of the hole, especially with a 4 speed. But I don't think that's your problem. If your car bogs and the motor falls on it's face it sounds like you have a carberator problem. It either needs to be adjusted or it's just too big for your motor. I used to have a Holley 750 DP on my car and I went to a 650 DP and it's much more responsive now. Good luck.

  • oh my car is fueled injected everyone at sixpack performance in Albuquerque told me my rear end is to high my engine is all tuned right its mean but rear end to high

  • that shouldn't make the engine bog down...I have a mild and worn out 5.0 with 3:73 gears and I dont have that problem. The gears are in an 8.8 posi.

  • What headers ar you using?

  • I'm running tri-Y headers.

  • what harmonic balancer did you use to make that work with your V-belt setup? im in the middle of doing the same thing,i have the same engine setup B303 cam, 1.7 RR, potred and ploished heads with dual springs, your car sounds bad as hell

  • I kept the harmonic balencer that came on the 5.0 crate motor but I bought the V-belt pulleys and actually ended up using the water pump pulley from the 302 that was in the car.

  • Hey your car sounds great!!!! I have a 67 myself getting ready to do hydraulic roller install. Just checking on here for different sounds of cams. Does it make good power?

  • Yea, makes good power. The Bcam has a nice thump to it, the key is to use the 1.7RR so that you can get more lift out of the cam, without going to an Fcam.

  • Beautiful stang; absolutely beautiful.

  • Thanks ^-^ i love it too (hopefully i get it in the will >.>)
