We may eventually have a single payer system, but there must be limits per individual per year, you will probably see a nurse, not a doctor, and special tests like CT's, MRI's will have to come out of your pocket. Who will pay for all this? You can't blindly say tax the rich, there is a dwindling tax base in the US because we have no manufacturing jobs. They expect medicare to go bankrupt now, because 20% of the population can't pay for 60% retirees (baby boomers) in 10-20 years.Expand this?

Yank, It seems you are passionate enough about a single payer system, but I tell you that Americans need incentives to curb their own consumption. Americans are less than 10% of the world's population, yet we consume 80% of its drugs. Whether you admit it or not, big pharma allows americans to live like pigs. People are morbidly obese and diabetic, yet still complain about the cost of their five blood pressure meds and 2-3 diabetic meds. We are consuming ourselves to death.
