  • Alan is a very intelligent man, that's why he is so sexy. And I love his voice too.(L)

  • Alan, you and Vince Clarke go down as the greatest synth-composer-players of all time!! It is'nt the same in Depeche Mode without you

  • I, like everyone else, regret Alan's parting from Depeche Mode, but I think that no one can deny that Recoil is so very damn great.

  • yes there is nothing like recoil out there..

  • Get over the Depeche Mode spilt. He does a good job on his projects and Mode are still a good band. That's life!

  • i have to say that violator was not the magnum opus it was SONGS OF FAITH AND DEVOTION that album probably will be nothing if alan wasn't at that time, and ultra probably will be the HEAVIEST ALBUM OF DEPECHE MODE if alan decide to stay with depeche mode, sorry martin BUT ALAN IS THE GENIOUS NOT YOU!, LET DAVE WRITE SONGS YOU'RE NOT THE MASTERMIND BEHIND DEPECHE MODE i started to hate you since i know that you write all the songs for the band ALAN YOU'RE THE MAN!

  • @rodrigoNIN90 I would say that A Broken Frame and Some Great Reward are the best albums!

  • that`s how i see it:

DM = Dave+Martin (thats the base and the face from DM) + the both AA`s in the the group (just one A is missing at the moment ?)

Dave = great emotional vocals and best + sexiest performer the number 1

Martin = lyrical genius and angelsvoice

Alan = the Friend and Cutie

Alan = the musical voice of DM, he brings the best out of DM, soundgenius, badly miss him in the team

  • fantastic album!!!! Greetings Alan

  • i love him, even if he's not with depeche anymore.

  • i wish he would go back to depeche mode i miss him

  • in this video ,,he's fantastic ..he play music successfully until a lot of years but he's also a very nice man...

  • <3 the EYEBROW!

  • I'm a proud DM fan..and also I love Recoil

Alan you're a beautiful person in all the senses..I love you :)

  • hey to some folks. don't forget this is in working stage. the song is not complete. you are listening to the editing room. you can't hardly judge the editing room until it's complete. have you sat through such a process. I have.

  • lol, I have poster in my room! I have no shame in being a groupie junkie! It's all in fun. It's all good we true fans respect all DM before and after A.W. and we pray for the day they have peace again and reunite.

  • depeche mode needs Alans this it no more coments ok

    DM for ever

  • S0v3r3ign69:

I so agree with you! Alan was the CRUCIAL & AWESOME part of DM without him DM's NOT the same & will NEVER be again! I love Recoil! Recoil is AWESOME! I'm so glad that Alan took Recoil to a new level cuz us fans got to really know how tremendously talented he is. Love you Alan! Altho I miss you with DM but I'm so grateful that you have Recoil.

  • @btdtlol7

    recoil sux

  • @SPAZZOID100 - Well, that's your opinion & you're entitled to that. But to me,. Recoil is an awesome album....there's nothing like it out there!

  • Alans work is better than Depeche's???

    Alan Wilder better than Gore???

    Are you fucking insane???

    Wtf????

  • it is a pity but i can believe it is dave gahan's selfishness to abandon wilder in his own.

    eventhough i really like DM.

Gahan always like to be on front as it is.

  • every single member of DM was too far caught up with all the FAME back then. It wasnt even Dave who Alan disliked, it was Martin.

  • A beautiful man - definitely the best looking by far. So well spoken and thorough. We both share moon in Aries!

  • why did u have to talk crap about dave gahan!!!!!!! retard no wonder dave looked pissed off in the video "useless" yea cuz ur useless1!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • OK - and this comment is useless too. I agree with our friend below. When DM lost Alan, they lost a vital part of the band.

  • OMG....Alan is so HOT!!!!!!

  • alan are cute =)

  • Happy Birthday to Alan^^

  • thx 4 that, Raura0rz, already tried recoil; his official site doesn't work, I would love 2 read there what he said, but... :(

and gosh, HE'S HOT, though I'm only 20 , I'd run away with him :)

  • Lol a 4:10 quand il dit "and that's all you getting", j'adore sa bouille, il est trop mignon !!!

  • alan, please return with depeche mode

  • It's nice to see that Alan is finally doing what he wants to do w/out Dave, Mart & Andy....He more in control with his talent....It shows that he's much happier now than before when he was with DM....I LOVE YOU ALAN!!!.....Keep doing what you do coz you're truly, brilliantly amazing!!....DM's new sound is not the same w/out you.....You're still very cute & sexy!!!

  • Yes I agree without Alan the band took a major decline while many DM fans did not like songs of faith and devotion I thought it was a great album and is my favorite one of all time Alan is to advanced I believe for DM

  • In the book "Stripped", it stated that Alan wanted the band members of DM to get paid the same (Martin and Dave were making more than Alan and Fletch). Martin said no. So Alan walked. Dave says he told Martin to call Alan up and apologize, but Martin didn't. They are not the same without him, but it looks like Alan has moved on, and I guess we should to. Maybe DM will let him produce their next album. God knows they need all the help they can get after SOTU.

  • Kingrob44.....That's just very sad!....I'm fed up with Martin getting all the credits for DM's success!....Altho I miss Alan with DM but I am happy for him now coz he's finally able to show 100% of his talent....Proof to that is "Recoil.".....It is an AMAZING album!!.....ALAN WILDER ROCKS!!!....Tho I love the old DM but I kinda don't want Alan to return with DM....Why should he?....He wasn't given the respect he deserved then.....but DM is still my fave band!!!

  • Alan said on his official site he has no questions about Martin getting all the credits because Martin actually writes all the songs. If you really love and respect Alan, it's more proper for you to go and read what he said on Recoil's official site. Don't believe those "biography" books, please!

  • Dave was into drugs deeply at that time and cared about nobody but himself (It is mentioned repeatedly by Dave in various interviews, including the DVD of Ultra reissue). Also, Alan said he couldn't reach Dave when the sofad tour was over. So this man in trouble would care if his mate get equal paid? Please throw out the book and read what what Alan said on his site and watch all the reissue DVDs instead.

  • please tell me what's his official site, but not recoil, I mean u keep sayin' about his versions why he left DM... I would like to read more bout it...in his own words.

btw...he was the hottest of all DM ... dont understand why all girls were screaming for dave...in fact, ALAN was the most handsome, then DAVE n MARTIN...fletch ZERO... sorry, fletch, my opinnion :)

  • He did answered all those questions about DM in his own words on Recoil's official site (He has no other official site).

    I'll show you the way:

1.go to the official site of Recoil -> recoil(dot)co(dot)uk

    2. evidence -> q+a vault

    3. you'll see a page where the questions are classified in 4 parts, so choose "Depeche Mode"

    4. Click in, and you'll see an well-organized answer page.

All were answered by Alan himself during about 2000, so please take a look. It's very nice to read. :)

  • GORGEOUS MAN !!!!!!

  • i love you <3

  • Alan genius !

  • I love watching alan

    I love hearing alan

    I love you alan

  • Alan you must be getting fed up of people reminising about DM and yourself? Inspirational stuff here with Recoil. Very dark, filmic and tribal...Any-way about DM wouldn't it great if...

  • haha how interesting and weird it would be if BOTH ALAN AND VINCE were part of Depeche Mode and performing with them??? yeah i can't really see that happening since alan and vince's concepts are complete opposites. vince leaving is the reason alan joined the band in the first place. love them both, though.

that pic of martin and vince taken a couple years ago was very adorable!!!

Erasure should open up for Depeche Mode when they come to North America! ;P I wish

  • I love Alan...he's definitely extremely talented and what he did with DM was magic. You can hear his influence all over Violator and ESPECIALLY SOFAD - that's all him...but I cannot STAND the music he does on his own. I guess when him and Martin get together, it's magic. It would be nice if they at least tried writing a track or two together, just to test out the waters. That'll never happen but still...

  • depeche would have never been as good and succesfull without him. ok martin writes good songs but sound and arranges aren' t so rich anymore.

  • In a nutshell Martin Gore didn't want to give Alan song writing credits or any kind of publishing credits to any of the songs even though he was totally responsible for DM's famous dark sound. Can be heard from Black Celebration to SFAD. Martin would come into the studio with a song with just acoustic guitar and vocals and then Alan and maybe a producer would add the musical elements (keys,samples,drums,etc.). Funny how DM's popularity and sound drastically changed when Alan was gone.

  • Although Martin is the chief song writer of DM, Alan Wilder can not and should not be completely discredited. Alan was very responsible is reshaping the sound and what beckbiller said, Alan left due to royalty and song writing issues with MG. For the record, Dave would have left DM if MG did not give in. The next DM record will feature two songs written soley by Mr. Gahan. In my opinion, Playing the Angel is the first good record DM released without Mr. Wilder.

  • i love alan very much!

  • argue with Martin.

  • without alan DM are become a normal group. the song are without idea and can play also tokio hotel

  • Comment removed

  • Yup. I haven't heard the new "Recoil" (is he still using that monikor?), but I miss the old DM. And are those planes flying by in the background?.....

  • please do not be offensive in here

  • asshole??? he didn't do anything wrong as far as I know. Even though Depeche Mode doesn't need him, he would be a great asset to have in the studio helping with the album's production

  • Alan is Great composer & musician.

  • I love love love love love ALAN^^

  • Depeche Mode have a tour next year, they need to get Alan and Vince Clark to join them!

  • pease join dm!!!

  • lol stfu already. He's not joining Depeche Mode.

  • Alan, marry me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Let me borrow those speakers after you are done yeah?...haha

  • He's not coming back,And most of us Depeche Mode fans wish he would, but Us Recoil Fans aren't really having an issue coping with it.He's still doing what he does best. And so is Depeche Mode.

  • he's good!

  • Depeche MODE sorry!! I'm crap at typing lol. xx

  • Depeche Mod ain't the same without you Alan!!! We miss you!!! xx

  • we love you alan T_T

  • come back,please!

  • Do the inevitable and reunite with Depeche Mode. They need you and you need them!

  • Alan,

    come back to depeche!!!

    we love you!

  • Why did he leave in the first place?

I stopped buying their records when Alan left the band and would love to see him back.

  • Depeche Mode it's no the same without Alan, Violator and SOFAD documentaries on remasters editions show that Alan & Flood make the most powerful DM records.

  • please make a comeback to depeche mode for the fans

  • Yeah, I hear that. I was just watching the first 50 seconds of Jezebel and I was like, "Ugh! Is this ALL he's been doing since he left Depeche Mode?"

  • WE LOVE YOU ALAN !

    BACK

  • If it wasn't for Alan. There wouldn't be great songs like, Enjoy the silence. He wanted that song to be sped up and have that electronic feel .

  • Martin Gore may have been the lyrical genius behind Depeche Mode and Dave Gahan the great vocals to complement Martin but it was Alan who truly gave life to these songs that are now timeless classics. This musical prowess has never been duplicated since his leaving in '95.

  • @boypoet7 alan wilder THE TRENT REZNOR OF DEPECHE MODE

  • Great Guy and a Synth Genius!! DM will never be the same without you

  • I LOVE ALAN WILDER HES MY HERO IM ONL 13

  • i dont like that he is not happy.

    he look tired.

  • "Tough, if you wanna hear more. You'll just have to buy the record."

    Yeah, you're right.

  • im more intrigued by his use of logic AND protools...

  • que vuelva que vuelva!!!!!! eeee

  • Perfect album!

  • "And thats all you're getting...tough!"

Think it'll be more tough on you Alan when you see the album sales!

  • Hahaha brilliant.

  • so true....i just never thought depeche mode was the same when alan left.PLEASEEEE, you should get back with them

  • yeh 02eltemible, Alan Wilder is great! Just listen to "If You Want" on SOME GREAT REWARD. He wrote that, and how about the piano part to "Somebody"! AWESOME!

  • i love you alan sei un grandissimo artista

  • please come back to Depeche mode alan , im begging you!!

    it will be pperfect !!!

  • New album is great.

  • I've always missed Alan since he left DM. Is there any hope of him making a suprise appearance on their next album or tour ? That would be the best ever. Keep up the good work Alan ( if you read this) you're a phenominal musician.

  • Nice percussion - a little mobyesque in terms of the blues singer but great to hear the metallic sampled sounds reminiscant of the old emu days. Also so cool to see a glimpse into the studio - I want more..

    myspace / stuad1970

  • Yeah!!!! Alan C Wilder, all of your fans are proud of you and how well your doing!! Your a wonderful musician, and a great producer, you will be very successful, keep up the good work and i will buy the album.

  • alan please tell dave to stop with the solo things

  • Kaileocomial..maybe you are under 26 or 27 years old...go to hear your commercial music and never opend your mind to something different...Sorry for this comment, i'm not trying to be agresive, just clear.

  • NEVER GO BACK TO DEPECHE! They're doing fine without you, and what you're doing is SO FAR beyond anything they ever did... just not as catchy & not as commercial. It's inspirational beyond words that you're doing what you believe in & not what would rake in the cash. Not that you're sitting around reading youtube comments anyways, lol

  • I think that these tracks are brilliant, it's not depeche and it shouldn't be. Alan's work is so personal. The tracks I've listened so far are very strong and I've been a recoil fan for years. I do not expect is music to sound like DM and all those who do are making a mistake. It would be stupifd of me to expect Alan's music to sound anthing else than Recoil. It sounds like that and I am happy, can't wait for the album to be released and listen to all the tracks. Well done, Alan!!!!

  • okay, don´t get me wrong I think Alan is a great musician, but I think he was better when he was in the Mode

  • So, I just have to buy the record you say, mm? not sure Alan, the voices you decided to use in that track sound like your last albums and if I spend money in music, I would like something a little innovative.

I miss the creativity of "1+2" and "Bloodline" times, when you used to be a little more reserved and did not have to say anything like ".. you just have to buy the record" and you just released your albums and people bought them of their own free will.

  • After thinking about it a bit, I see what you are saying...good point! I will probably still buy it though.

  • the killing ground is on recoil's myspace!!! everyone check it out!!!!!

  • I dont like the music. its not depeche at all. I mean the sample he just showed really didnt apply to my interpretation of good music. maybe I have bad taste, but it was definitley not depeche mode and definitely not good music.

  • It's hilarious that people still expect Alan Wilder to sound like Martin/ Fletch. Recoil is incredible but nothing like Depeche Mode and that's A GOOD THING (as much as I love DM)

  • I am VERY sorry to say this but even my 2 years old baby cousin could make better music if he was handed a keyboard and a barry white record to go with it. "Strange hours oh yeah baby"

  • hay!everyone alan has put allelujah on the recoil myspace it sounds realy great hope everyone will check it out!!!!its cool.

  • pray is fantastic.

    excellent album Mister Wilder.

  • I meant " Prey"!

  • As always, Alar demostrate once again the realy nature of music. Dark and blues in a special and unique way. The revolutionary 83-93's DM sound is back, readapted and reinvented as he only can do.

    Thanks from all your fans!!

From Argentina, Q of Hera (watch our "Gap - Hera" video on youtube)

  • Here, try this; Let the video load completely. Then, grab the cursor and move it backwards and forwards across the time bar at random. You can then make Alan say whatever you like. Especially great when your pupils are dilated.

  • Alan is such a musical wizzard. I hope that he will tour to support his albumn. He looks great and the clip of the song has such wonderful sound to it. If there is a God, DM will have Alan produce their next albumn. No harm in dreaming right??

  • dig the Studio Electronics Midimoog and two Oberheim SEMs.

  • everyone check out recoil's myspace pray is on there as well as new pictures!!!!

  • Thank you sexywilder!!

  • no problem hope you liked it!!!

  • To all who are flipping shit:

Turn up the volume and you will hear a lawnmower behind alan's voice.

  • yes i do belive it is a lawnmower going on it starts a 1:06 who didn't belive you?

  • alan is the hotiest man alive!!!!!

  • Yay!!! I can't wait!!!

    btw, Alan looks really handsome!!

    =P

  • sounds crap....like everything he's done since leaving DM. Bloodlines was a good album, however this sounds like more of the same self indulgent textures and sounds.

  • sounds like someone is cutting the grass outside

  • TO raid0422: PERHAPS U CAN PRODUCE BETTER MUSIC HIM..OR IF U CAN release an album that out sells him ..IF NOT..SHUT YOUR CUTTING GRASS WORDS UP !!!!!!

  • raid0422 said, that someone is cutting the grass outside Alans studio and not that the music sounds like so

  • how the hell would he know that someone is cutting the grass outside Alan's studio? Rubbish statement by him as fas as i can understand it..

  • I <3 alan's music

  • LUCKY HEP!

  • your right CKWTV he looks sooooooooo hot,can you belive he is going to be 48!alan you still are as fine and sexy as ever!!!

  • Oh my...I Can´t wait anymore!!!...

Mmm, by the way...He looks great (such a beauty)

  • d00mheart what rumors?

  • Alan.. you "forgot" to infirm the DM rumors..

  • alan wilder is the best.love ya lots babe.cant wait for the new recoil sounds GREAT!!!! best of luck alan.

  • Like what most of us felt about Alan's tracks... they ain't songs u can easily listen too like hip hop or Top 40 pop tracks.. but his tracks are complex & full of rich texture sounds layered across each song...with a movie soundtrack feel towards it... Like I always believe: Recoils tracks R meant for those who listen & dig deep into it's sounds, structure & arrangement ..N there U'll discover his true nature towards songs..

  • Can sort of see your point there kindgott, not exactly disimilar to jezebel and others. Saying that, sounds as rich and blissfully complex as the the glorious previous recoil releases and personally with be scratching at the doors to get 'subhuman' ASAP. Thanks Alan for the update, feel a little quenched after what feels like an age of a 'dry' spell. Shall truly gorge my thirst when subhuman is on my stereo

  • So nice to see Charlie up there again :)

I'm a big fan of DM and Recoil, but I have to be critic.

"Prey" has an amazing layer of sounds, as good as ever, but... it sounds A LOT to other Recoil tunes. The same style (ok, that's cool) but the same tempos, same recitative... Umm... He's walking on the dangerous thin line of becoming repetitive.

And I'm saying this as a true follower.

Anyway, I' looking forward "subHuman" :_)

  • He looks very good.

  • Go Alan Go! :)))

  • Counting the days !

  • I just overlayed the "Chicken Dance" song over the video for "Let Your Body Learn" by Nitzer Ebb and it was the very best thing in the world, ever.

  • hope you will do one day another record with dave & co. ... ;-)

    depeche 4ever

  • Daniel Miller was heavily involved in the early DM production but gradually participated less and less. It all changed with MFTM when Al became the driving force and did most of the "Screwdriver Work" as Dave used to call it, bringing a more epic sound to DM. He also suggested making Enjoy the Silence a dance record instead of a ballad. Genius? Maybe not but not far off and DM have never been the same since he left. PTA was very good, but no Violator or SOFAD.

  • alan!what about the website?

  • Alan looks absolutely great but... the music sample reminds me "Liquid" a bit - especially "Jezebel" and "Strange Hours". So... no progress since? I hope that it's only my wrong first impression and I'm still looking forward to the new album!

  • i got the same opinion the first time ive heard this "new" single. i am anxious to hear the new record.

  • Look at the credits for Ultra and you can see how many people Tim Simenon needed to replace him and even then that record sounds half-finished.

  • On the Daniel Miller/Alan argument, the basic fact is that Alan was essentially a 22-year-old session player until he joined DM. Daniel Miller was the main productive force in the studio, but Alan was hungry and a quick learner. Just look at the video from the SGR remaster DVD. Alan is the only one left in the studio with Gareth Jones as the rest had fucked off on holiday! From there on, it was nearly all Alan.

  • I hope there is some more upbeat stuff on subHuman. I always find I admire Recoil's last two records more than actually enjoying them per se. I kow Alan would probably hate hearing this, but Bloodline is the one I go back to again and again as the work since then is a bit too heavy going for me and requires all my attention. I get the feeling that that is exactly what he is going for. Definitely heavy and arty. It's great to see him back!

  • SO can't wait for this album.

  • Yes, this will be a great album!!! Can't wait for it!

  • I've always loved Alan, can't wait for the new disc! And Alan! IT IS TOUGH, the waiting! Meanie! lol

  • alan you're the best musician ever.always looking for a new sound, i love your music.

  • For all those who dis-credit Alan Wilder :

If any of U out there thinks or feels his STUDIO SKILLS are poor to average for his RECOIL ALBUMS...try setting up your own music studio & program his tracks as cover version ( In Detail )..& see how close u can achieve it . Try : Defector (Bloodline), Shunt (Unsound Methods) or Want (Liquid)...

if any of U out there can achieve 80% for his tracks being program on your own, than U have a right to comment negatively on his solo work.

  • grande Alan Wilder saludos from Chile!!!!!!

  • Miller's MAJOR influence pretty much ended at Black Celebration.

Alan did MFTM at home, and when it was ready, brought it into the studio to flesh out.

For Violator, Flood got the band to participate more with Alan in the lead.

For SOFAD, Alan organized the entire thing, and while the rest of the band was out, it was him and Flood putting together their first ever #1 album.

For Unsound Methods, Alan created it pretty much on his own (minus his assistants and guest musicians.)

  • You'd think alan would have woken up to some of the good new music being put out in the last few years via ney york.

  • typo: new york

  • Yeah I can tell you who made most of dm's great early music and violater. His name is DANIEL FUCKING MILLER!! He was the influence on dm's early 80s music. Music for the masses, violater etc. Their overall influence and taught alan how to play and program the fairlight and synths. Afterall, he owned the fairlight. Alan was great yes but this is utter blues fuckcrap and isn't the least bit innovative.

  • I love Alan dearly, but I think you're right. People give him a lot of the credit for the Depeche glory years and much of it is deserved, but I'm sure that I read that he hadn't a clue as to how all the equipment worked until Mr. Miller familiarized him with it. Alan was basically just a keyboard player when he joined, was he not? The man obviously has good ideas and production skills, but I agree that Miller seems to have played a large part in the Depeche Mode sound.

  • Peace0ff!

Daniel Miller played a really important role in shaping the early DM-sound, but since the Black Celebration-era, his contributions got smaller and smaller to the actual production of the record. From Music For The Masses and on Alan was the one with the most important influence on the production. The difference between their style is clearly audible... They both had a vital part in shaping the DM-sound and are both geniouses and very-very innovative producers/musicians in my opinion.
