@TheCobalt100 Waste? This is not a waste. This is honoring the fallen. A waste is all of congress driving Mercedes and other nice cars. A waste is vacations for all Legislative, Executive, and Judicial Branch members. A waste is the Executive branch's slush fund. THAT'S a waste. But this, this is not a waste.
I respect this, but why nail the shoe to the horse, why not use the special cement like they do today in most of the competition horses, they feel the nail going into their foot I was told by a farrior. just saying
and to add to that, they funeral detail is about respect to give the honored dead your best as one used to do when going to church on sunday,or to whatever religious denomination you happen to be for the occasion like you would a wedding
kittyman, I suspect you'll love the duty in The Old Guard, but I may be wrong. I transferred there from the 82nd, and found DC to be the best duty station I ever encountered. Great duty, great place to serve. If, however, you're used to (and love) the bush, including combat, it may be too tame. I can't answer that for you. Best of luck.
@HendroofLobo I agree man. I was in 1-508 PIR with the 82nd. I PCS'd to TOG in August 2008 and just recently ETS'd a few months ago. I was in bravo with 120 missions and Caisson with 638 rides. By far, the most prestigious and honorable organization i've ever been a part of.
I absolutely love this, and LOVE the respect shown via this time-honored tradition. LOVE, LOVE it!!! Thank you all for doing what you do so selflessly!
The budget ax needs to fall heavily on this charade. There is too much of this waste of taxpayer dollars.

@ApocalypticEagle I agree. There is so much fraud and corruption all over in our government, it's enough to want to make you do something drastic.

@3rdID8487 i think its more about respect for the fallen soldiers.
HiJaayD 6 days ago
@HiJaayD That also, the tradition includes that aspect but yes they are special enough to list as a seperate reason, thanks for the reminder.
