  • The budget ax needs to fall heavily on this charade. There is too much of this waste of taxpayer dollars.

  • @TheCobalt100 Waste? This is not a waste. This is honoring the fallen. A waste is all of congress driving Mercedes and other nice cars. A waste is vacations for all Legislative, Executive, and Judicial Branch members. A waste is the Executive branch's slush fund. THAT'S a waste. But this, this is not a waste.

  • @ApocalypticEagle I agree. There is so much fraud and corruption all over in our government, it's enough to want to make you do something drastic.

"Every young lad should be taught how to shoot a gun and a Congressman". -Mark Twain

  • I respect this, but why nail the shoe to the horse, why not use the special cement like they do today in most of the competition horses, they feel the nail going into their foot I was told by a farrior. just saying

  • since wen was the military about looking pretty

  • @SOULxSOCIETY its not "looking pretty" its about tradition and respect for your appearance and uniform.

  • @3rdID8487 i think its more about respect for the fallen soldiers.

  • @HiJaayD That also, the tradition includes that aspect but yes they are special enough to list as a seperate reason, thanks for the reminder.

  • and to add to that, they funeral detail is about respect to give the honored dead your best as one used to do when going to church on sunday,or to whatever religious denomination you happen to be for the occasion like you would a wedding

  • @SOULxSOCIETY Since like forever.

  • @SOULxSOCIETY since forever, damn dog and pony show being in garrison, overseas...way better, especially if your infantry.

  • kittyman, I suspect you'll love the duty in The Old Guard, but I may be wrong. I transferred there from the 82nd, and found DC to be the best duty station I ever encountered. Great duty, great place to serve. If, however, you're used to (and love) the bush, including combat, it may be too tame. I can't answer that for you. Best of luck.

  • @HendroofLobo I agree man. I was in 1-508 PIR with the 82nd. I PCS'd to TOG in August 2008 and just recently ETS'd a few months ago. I was in bravo with 120 missions and Caisson with 638 rides. By far, the most prestigious and honorable organization i've ever been a part of.

  • I absolutely love this, and LOVE the respect shown via this time-honored tradition. LOVE, LOVE it!!! Thank you all for doing what you do so selflessly!

  • How can the 3rd infantry be the oldest one? shouldnt they be the 3rd oldest?

  • @madplaysHD the oldest serving to this day

  • Damn.. I though this would have been about napoleons imperial guard, or better known as the old guard.

  • ANYONE THAT DOES NOT RESPECT THE OLD GUARD, IS UNAMERICAN

  • Having worked with these young men at Arlington I can testify to the fact they are true professionals.

  • @SemperGumby COULD NOT HAVE SAID IT BETTER MYSELF

  • @MrBQ2010 Just so you know, there is a full length version of this on my channel, just search old guard on it. :)
