  • the ronettes version of this song is my favortite

  • Outstanding....great song!!

  • Ahhhh...Ronnie! Great! By the way, as a gay guy I've got to say, I've always loved Brian Wilson's cute nerdy looks (1:25).

  • I wish Joey Ramone had done a version of this song.

  • I heard that Brian Wilson wrote this song specifically as a tribute to Ronnie Spektor.

  • @sleepybrownbear Yes that is a true statement, indeed he did indeed. Just google or wiki it! ;)

  • No disrepect for her singing, but this is flat as a pancake being her; literally dead, compared to Brian or anything Phil mastered.

  • this is a hard song to sing like the orginal if you can't say something nice best say nothing thank you ronnie for the music and the you for keeping brian wilson's music alive in your fan base i love you thanks for putting up with phil and giving us great music thecgr3 ps be my babby

  • God, love Ronnie's vibrato. Nothin' like it!

  • Some songs are just right. This is one of them. We build many statues to honor the good things people do for each other. This song is like a statue. It honors the good things people feel about each other.

  • wow better than b boys if ask me

  • Real music!

  • love this song!

  • Love this song but the sound is so tacky on this version. AKAK 80's attack!

  • Great looking woman with a coziness to her voice that is unmatched.

  • One of the greats.Never knew she did this song and she is just Ronnie all the way. Thanks for the find always discovering something new on you tube.

  • One of my favorite Beach Boys songs. I was floored when I found out that Brian Wilson loved the Ronettes' "Be My Baby" (another all-time fave of mine) and originally wrote this for Ronnie. Did anyone else see the YouTube video where Brian hears Ronnie singing this, for the first time? His reaction is priceless!

  • @Mikkimuse The original" Don't Worry Baby"had Different lyrics

It's A Shame that Brian Wilson doesn't remember them these days

  • how could anyone dislike this?

  • The song, in it's own way, was written as a tribute to her. - Be My Baby part two/deux - she gets it. It's about protection - don't worry, it WILL be alright, just go through/get through it.

  • No denying that Phil was a musical genius, but don't forget geniuses straggle that line that most of us dont cross - genius and idiot.. He was great, but so was she!

  • Listening to her sing this song gives me chills.....so beautiful!<3

  • Awesome! The best version I've ever heard after Brian's Beach Boys'.

  • I doubt it, hardly anyone really got their money for back then, contracts and royalties, if you didnt know the biz, you got nothing, Even Murray Wilson knew the biz very well, and well he screwed his own flesh and blood,,, Learn the biz, or take your contracts to an attorney, or maybe even them are known to screw you outta your money,, What a business...omg...

  • No pics of her as she looks today, which isn't too bad for a latina-black chick. Well she's just unique, what can I say?

  • @powergirl901 If you check out her PBS appearance, you'll see her as today.

  • love her version of this great song

  • she's the only voice that even reminds me of amy winehouse

  • RIP Amy Winehouse

  • I'll always wonder if she and the Ronettes got the money that Phil screwed them out of.

  • The song was infact written for Ronnie as a follow up to the infamous 'Be My Baby' but Phil Spector would not allow it. It's great cause it was written for her voice and everything...

  • Ronnie Spector has got to be one of the top tier female rockers of all time. Right up there with Janis, Grace Slick, Patti Smith, Chrissie Hynde and Tina Turner. (Add your own if I left anyone out. But Ronnie could be easily forgotten being she was never high profile in the sixties like the later female rockers). Suzi Quattro, Joan Jett & Tracy Nelson are equally great but just a hair below those mentioned above.

  • I love this song by Ronnie...Lorrie Morgan does a great version too.

  • One of my favorite Beach Boys songs ever --- sounds great here covered by Ronnie

  • Awesome Cover

  • ronnie will be on david lettermen cbs tv wednesday dec 15, 2010

  • Just another great song by Ronnie. So cute, so sexy, so sweet.

  • Gorgeous version - I had never heard this before. Wonderful. Thanks.

  • oh I love this! I always thought this song & "Be My Baby" sounded alike & never knew she recorded a cover of this! love Ronnie, love Brian, great together!

  • Very well done version of this great song.

  • Beautiful women, beautiful songs, beautiful era. I miss them. it's gonna be good in heaen!

  • @blinko656 Indeed it will!

  • Yeah! Ronnie rocks ......and always will! Thanks for the post.......excellent!

  • Yeah......the lady rocks! Always has.....always will.....go Ronnie!

  • Right song for this girl !!!

  • Thank you for posting this gem.

  • I just wanna be Phil because of you. Gosto de ti Ronnie.

  • What are the details about this... who produced, who sings with her?

  • Comment removed

  • @pbesmer

Joey Ramone & Daniel Ray (Ramones producer and composer) produced it

I believe Daniel Ray played guitars and bass,

    Cindy Mizelle was back vocal

    Dont know the other musicians

  • @pbesmer Joey Ramone of the Ramones produced it.

  • simply superb thanks for the posting I never knew she sang this, beautiful !

  • what year was this recorded?

  • Wicked. Just wicked. Thanks man. I really appreciated that.

  • this is the kind of talent that few will ever acheive, timeless, beautiful, and almost beyond true description

    ,

  • muy buena versión

  • too cool

  • I wish Ronnie well, too. And Brian. And poor Phil. And everyone who suffered and still suffers. This rendition brings tears to my eyes for so many reasons.

  • Superfine performance!

  • This brought tears to my eyes. Thanks for posting.

  • YEH you know that guy

    BRIAN WILSON

  • AH yeh, and by the way,

Will all you, YouTubers. just fuckin stop

pretented youre on tele or somethin

  • apparently the man I love.

    A guy called BRIAN

played the 45 of the "RONNETTES"

    |Be my baby}, for 54 hours repeatedly

    GOOD CHOICE

  • raelene; if so, Brian musta been doing some good drugs that weekend, huh? (c;

  • @raelene101 And that kid Brian was a million times greater than Mr. Spector!

  • The best of all of them. She can take an esoteric lyric like Try Some Buyt Some and put such depth in her diction. What an inimitable voice.

  • wasn't this suposed to ahve been written with the ronettes in mind?

I read somewhere that brian wilson wrote as a follow ujp for be my baby, but phil spector rejected it

It mayahve been hit for RONNIE & THE GIRLS

  • @Freyja1133 Yes, Wilson did, in fact, write the song for The Ronettes (particularly for Ronnie) as a tribute to them. It is true that Brian Wilson did write "Don't Worry Baby" as a follow up song. This definitely would have been a hit for them! Sucks that Spector wouldn't allow it. As a side note, "Chapel of Love" by the Dixie Cups and another hit song by The Shangri-Las called, "Leader of the Pack" were originally slated to be Ronettes songs(and hits). What a shame!!

  • Ronnie is a wonderful person, and a gifted artist."Be My Baby"is one of the 5 best pop songs in music history. She's fine here, but this will always be a Beach Boys song.

  • yeah i thnk there are other issues, take fat ass elvis, for how fat he got and goofy lookin, he still had that voice he had when he was a kid, it never left him, jay black, same thing, i thnk it all comes down to drugs, drinkin, or not styin on your meds, i know elvis was a big pill popper, but he was doin somethin right to keep his voice. ronnie now sounds like 2 cats screwin in a alley

  • Having a hard time growing up, ludwig? That was totally unnecessary. The woman has given more in her lifetime than you could in a million. Let's show some respect for a great artist.

Great job, Ronnie. I loved it.

  • @65ludwig ludwig, you'd sound that way too,,,after years of smokng dimwit !

Elvis before he died? he sounded like should;ve stayed away from col tom in his younger days...oh yeah& not gone in to the army...that's where his problems with drugs started

  • THANK YOU. I had no idea the lyrics were changed by the BJ Thomas version. Bryan Ferry does an adequate job too, with the addition of a Phil Spector style arrangement. But I still like this one

  • @stapelgek100 stape, brian wilson said that he changed the lyrics ,because the other version was turned down by phil spector

  • Although I've never been a Beach Boys fan, I always loved this song. The melody and lyrics tie is so beautifully together. Then I tried to learn the words and found out it is all about car racing! I had no idea. Hearing a female sing it brings a new light to this song. Thank you

  • @stapelgek100 If you've never listened to the lyrics when B.J.Thomas recorded it you may enjoy that one as well. It's not about car racing.

  • most singers have their style...ronnie spector make this song sound like the ronnettes rather then beach boys...that's why this version's not bad at all.....

  • what are you talking about? You dont think Ronnie can sing? She is not quite as good as she was in the mid sixties...45 friggin years ago.Listen to "Be My Baby"...the original, and tell me if you think Ronnie couldnt sing great.Hell, have you heard Bria Wilson sing these days...his voice is not what it was in 1965 either man.But i still think they are both great....and these songs WILL LIVE FOREVER

  • Brian never wrote this song for her, he only wanted to do something like Be my baby becouse he loved the song and Spectors sound. Such a blame she destroys the song with her "voice", if you can call this a voice. Poor Brian!

  • you are an ass, there's no other explanation

  • Love this version from ronnie,it was very hard to find, thanks!

  • Thank God Brian recorded this song with himself singing!

  • Yeah, lets hear YOU SING IT....singing in the shower aint like singing on stage or in the studio...i would know...i've been doing it for 30 years.Ronnie did a fine job on this. She has lost a little....but give her a break....this isnt 1965 anymore....and her voice WAS GREAT THEN....Great enough to "BLOW MY MIND" as Wilson said back then when he first heard "Be My Baby"

  • Thank you so much for putting this on. I love the Beach Boys song and never new it was for her. Ronnie Rocks and Brian has such amazing song writing powers.

  • Phil was a musical genius, icon, all of those things. But, Phil was a neurotic, controlling monster. He couldn't accept that someone else could write a beautiful song for Ronnie to sing, so he refused to recored it with her. Thank God, Ronnie had the oportunity to record it later on because Brian Wilson wrote that song for her. It was her song. BTW, RIP in peace, Estelle Bennett. You were never forgotten by your millions of loyal fans. Now, youing with the angels sweetheart. XO

  • @internationalgiant So well said.

  • @internationalgiant All of this is true. I wonder if recording this song was Veronica's idea or Joey's. When The Ramones recorded "End Of Thje Century" with Phil, it was Joey's voice that Phil really wanted. I believe Joey is the only Ramone on that album. It's a shame Brian didn't produce the Ramones.

  • Finally, Brains wish come true. If it weren't for that jealous control nut, Ronnettes might have had another top 10 hit

  • its nice to hear a female sing this song-like she's singing it to me -lol

  • Nobody's deaf here! Ronnie finally gets to sing the song Brian wrote for her. Awesome!!!!

  • The coolest rocker chick ever!

  • @amandaberesford Definitely!

  • @amandaberesford Amen, brother! I'm wearing my Ronnie tee-shirt tonight! Gotta watch the Take Me Home Tonight video next!

  • Don't worry baby is my favorite song of all time and Ronnie does a really good job covering it. I like her version. thank you for posting it and sharing it with us.

  • Ronnie and Brian. Perfect

  • What year was this version?

  • 1999

  • We all love you, Ronnie. You are simply the best!

  • This is just a beautiful cover of the song Brian Wilson originally wrote for her. It's on the brilliant Joey Ramone-produced EP, "She Talks to Rainbows".

  • Someone should upload Ronnie's "Don't Worry Baby" at a Jools Holland show. I have it on tape but can't figure out how to digitize it.

  • Great Version!

I always loved Ronnie's voice! All the old Ronettes rec's,WOW!

Hope she get's a better life nowadays.

    Ronnie, you're the BEST!

  • Wow i didn't know ronnie covered it awesome

  • Nice version by Ronnie of this classic. Thanks for posting!!

  • We all know Brian's mentor was Phil Spector and his production of "Be My Baby". If Brians aim was to emulate Spectors success with a one off all time great composition , then hes done it with "Dont Worry Baby". Both songs rank as two of the all time great superlative hits.
