no silencer doesnt increase the MK14's recoil BUT the Shotgun attachment DOES. To balance out the gun (prevent it from being omnipotent), they made it so that having the Shotgun on it makes the regular fire's recoil wild and random. The rear sight kicks back like 3x more than usual.

the real answer is that the suppressor reduces the rumble on the controller plus the hides the muzzle flash which makes it feel like its better n more managable than not using a suppressor

It doesn't reduce recoil but it can improve accuracy. The suppressor actually eliminates the muzzle flash. Muzzle flash is the bright flash that comes off the gun after firing. So really it helps you see your target better.

The reason why people mis-concept the suppressor to reduce recoil is the fact that it hides the muzzle flash, when the muzzle flash isn't displaying, it's allowing less distractions in the subconscious part of your brain, which then allows you to adjust your aim more pinpoint to effectively recoil reduce subconsciously. And in reality, since you don't know that you're recoil reducing yourself, there is less recoil. That's the scientific and accurate explanation.
