  • Alice is truly a remarkable individual. Her life is filled with trials and tribulations that most would not have been able to survive, yet here she is. Caroline Stroessinger, a fellow pianist, interviewed Alice more than a dozen times and compiled this book with her findings. Search for A Century of Wisdom on YouTube to see the magnificent trailer.

  • Probably the best book ive ever read, and ive read a lot of books, from one pianist to another, what a wonderful woman, an amazing inspiration to all pianists, Alice you really gave me the kick up the ass i needed to continue onto my grade 6 xxx

  • What an amazing woman and wonderful example of the human sprirt.

I see 2 people chose to dislike this video - I'm sure Alice will have a huge amount of love for both of you!

  • Just listen in wonder.

  • An admirable, lovely lady. All my respect and all my sympathy!

  • Mrs. Sommer is an amazing lady. I love her comment in another video that says she chooses to be optimistic. Just amazing.

  • I love the comment - " Music was our food" It does indeed nourish the soul. It has always brought me to a better place and this woman displays a grace beyond words. She is an example of right living.

  • dear Alice I am 79 and saw a lot of the horror, That you can still enjoy your music inspires me. I was in Scotland for part of that war I now live in Caada and wonder where the greed stops. ket each country ffight theur ow battles.

  • does anyone know the name of the piece being played at the beginning?

  • Theres one person heartless here.

  • I love this woman.

  • This person is about as good as it gets.

  • I can't believe such a wonderful human being like this has ever lived..but she does. In my mind this woman epitimizes the good of the human spirit and soul.

  • music was our food...

  • such a inspiration

  • This great lady has lived a life worth celebrating. To have seen so much hatred and still find love in her heart makes her great. God must surely bless all who seek to live by her example.

  • Music keeps saving my life (spiritually and financially), too! I take my cue from you, dear Alice! Thank you for being my new hero!

  • GOD BLESS YOU .

  • Dear Alice:

You are amazing! God bless you always.

  • Dear Alice,

I am 54 years old. When I grow up, I want to be just like you!

  • Dear Alice,

I am 54 years old. When I grow up, I want to be just like you!

  • how beautiful! it seems that she is using the high vibrations of this melody to heal the wounds in her soul. she's bringing beauty out of ugliness!

  • beautiful! who is the cellist?? Safran???

  • All the best to birthday !!

  • What an inspirational woman!! :D

  • I think we all need to be more tolerant of ALL living beings.

And to realize that the way animals suffer today is not much

    different from her story.

  • @JewishVegan That is so true Rachel. Thanks for being a voice for the voiceless.

  • didn't mean to thumbs down. Agree with you.

  • I read her story & the things this woman has endured and the atrocities that she has seen one can only imagine. Yet, she's kept a great outlook on life and humanity. And at 107 years old, she moves around better than some half her age! God bless her, she's living proof of just how far a positive attitude can take us.

  • Note how fast she gets up from the Piano, no effort. She is remarkable, not to mention remembering and playing the song so well.

What's done is done, live in peace now, you can't change the horrors of WWll

But, your smile proves you are in a great placed now!

  • If I live to be that old i hope to be able to speak and move around like her. this is amazing.

  • her little smile at the end made me cry! she is such an inspirational woman. happy birthday, sweetheart. i hope you have a wonderful day. God bless <3 :')

  • God Bless her

  • God bless her soul. Those precious hands playing the piano today saw the ravages of war and the inside of a concentration camp. God love her. Thank you, Alice!

  • I did some deep study of why people think this event never happened. cause like you i found that to be wierd and crazy talk. Well it turns out the chambers that was claim to be gas chambers are not in display at all even though we have a 200mil display in the US. The chambers doors open in both sides with no lock what so ever and opened into the room. No bar windows and lastly the containers they claim that was used to gas the people first of all don't work as gas and was normally used to clean

  • so don't believe all you see. In Europe you go to jail for even denying that day happened. You are not allowed to question it ever or even debate in schools much like with 9/11. So when you hear some one denying.. They are not denying it totally.. everyone captured was used as a labor force where they may have been work to death.. not saying thast any good either but shame on the jews for learning a way to cash in on an event with charities and guilt trips that gave them israel ..clever basters

  • @shadowlesswalls I am quite sad for you Alex having all that hate in your heart. It must be a big weight on your soul. :-(

  • @shadowlesswalls What are you accomplishing by discussing such things here?

Youtube as a conversational medium is completely ineffective. Rather than attempting to enlighten individuals to apparent "truths", it's clear that you're posting such comments to anger people.

The very fact that you mentioned such events shows that you missed the entire point of this video.

It was Voltaire who said: "Those who can make you believe absurdities can make you commit atrocities"

    Your denial is absurd

  • @shadowlesswalls , conspiracy theories and hate-fed theories can have a poisoning effect of receptive minds. People use such theories to control other people.

I know Alice - she is the antidot for such a mind poisoning.

    Peace.

  • What a beautiful, inspirational person! I'm left speechless. Living proof of the power of music and a shining example of someone who clearly loves life.
