@BreakingSCOTLAND If you connect your Xbox to the HDMI and Component Cables together yes. Thats what i do so you get the quality of full HD, but still use the PVR right.

@hardyeric1 pvr plays back the quality that is shwn on the tvit doesnt make an non hd tv play hd recording and it doesnt make a 1080 hd tv play 1080, if you want hd the highest is to buy and hd tv and set to 720p (highest) and it will record in that

@hardyeric1 I can take a 240p gameplay clip and render it in 1080p. It means nothing. Its just rendering. The video itslef has to be 1080p. The Hauppauge HD PVR is the best capture card but like most others, it uses component cables, so it can only record up to 720p, but you can render it in 1080p. If they were using a Hauppauge HD PVR, and it was in 1080p, then yes, it was just rendered that way and it isn't the actual quality, but if they were using a different capture card,

@hardyeric1 OK. I just found out that the HD PVR can record in 1080i, WHICH IS NOT 1080p.It is actually worse than 720p. So, playing in 720pis better than 1080i, but when you upload a clip that is in 1080i, youtube renders it and recognizes it as 1080p, which it is no where near. That is what you saw. But still, its all in the rendering.

@hardyeric1 If they did it with a different capture card such as the Black Magic Intensity Pro, it would be true 1080p, and it wouldn't have just be rendered that way. However, I DO NOT RECCOMEND the Black Magic Intensity Pro because the HD PVR quality is still better and the file sizes are smaller which is good for space and the HD PVR is better because you dont need a high end PC to run it. The Black Magic Intensity Pro does. Plus, the HD PVR does all the compressing and storing in the device.

@hardyeric1 That way, you dont need your computer to be using some space and power to keep the gameplay clips, but you DO need it to render, edit, ect. the clip. Hope this helps, and let me know what you end up doing.

HELP!! I want to buy the Hauppauge, but I was wondering if when you record a video from your 360, does the video automatically import onto your computer in HD so you can just upload to Youtube, or do you have to go through all the Sony Vegas crap render it and change all the settings?

@wwering You can upload right after you save your clip, just I use sony vegas etc when I have made a bunch of clips and need to merge them all together.

You can do it with Windows Movie Maker aswell, which I'm sure the majority of people have.

@wwering No. You don't. You can just save the file to your hard drive then go to youtube, go to upload, find the file, and upload it. You do not need Sony Vegas, and you dont even need to use the editing software that comes with the pvr, But i reccomend it for editing. You will never need sony vegas because it is a third party software, and its $500, so yeah. INBOX ME for any other questions.

1) You need AT LEAST a dual core PC with AT LEAST 1 gig of RAM...

2) You need AT LEAST a 256 meg Video Card...

3) You NEED HD video editing software that will recognize the M2TS files produced by the Hauppauge. (I use Sony Vegas Pro 8.0c, but Pinnacle Studio and Corel Video Studio work as well.)
