  • can i just say the pony is unhappy in his mouth your hands are not going forward with the jump and in some cases going backwards. he is also swishing his tail as he's unhappy. if you are aware of this and are working on it that's fine.

  • oh god getting sick of hearing the same thing over and over...like we don't know this already

  • hello a smaller rider got the buck off ...and she isn't too big loser!

  • wow thats some extreem shit "not"

  • I can`t stand those riders who think they are anything and judge about others who they saw just one time riding. You can`t say that she can`t ride, you just saw her one time.

  • TayBabe442, I agree, holding back on the bit will only encourage him to react back.

  • Gorgeous pony!

Shame I cant say the same for the rider tho....Abusing the bit isnt wat id call riding.

  • well come over and ride him. See if you can stay on.

  • its likely saddle not a good fit

  • pony came to us like that six months later going good..

  • it's not a question of staying on, it's a question of why the pony does it in the first place. back pain, poor saddle fit, teeth, lack of schooling. they are trying to tell you something. my pony was a bucking bronco until i went treeless. changed overnight, dispite having had saddle fitter out.

  • you know we aren't looking for advice to tellyou the truth it was an action video at best.He came to us this way. I am just getting sick of all the know it all's out there..sorry

  • noone can tell you how to ride him as they dont know how he reacts, my little treasure only used to buck when he jumped out of excitement but boy was he an expert. I found working him in a rounded shape but keeping my hands up a little higher was better for me, gave him something to think about. I never let him stop and buck just drive him forward with my seat or spin him and push him on, he soon got bored and only did it in the lap of honour

  • hhaha! beautiful pony to...lol. my friends horse tries to buck me off all the time. its funny.

  • my old sec b JA jumping pony used to buck. Could never get him out of it, he always did it in the lap of honour as he always came first (he was a ferrari lol) and he used to get cocky when he won and buck and show off (he was a stallion though)

  • hi yeah he was a stallion to for a long time.

  • my horse is black and called midnight and is one hell of a bucker lol good job handeling it i canter and if she bucks ride her threw it and just pul her head up and to the outside thats what i do lol well done x PLEASE CHECK OUT MY CHANNEL :)

  • i think ur holding him bk to much! He needs to go forward more, he slows right down when he's going to buck. Nicely sat tho! xx

  • have u had his saddle checked? jus a thought

  • whats the song called? just wondering

  • Sexy Back...by Justin Timberlake

  • U should keep your hands lower, and sit straight! Lean back u know.

    Great job skirchner001,

have dealt with bucking horses before i quess?

  • I feel as though he bucked more after he comes off a jump and is trying to get his lead change, maybe he has trouble behind and had to buck it through? He need to be balanced more so he can do his change properly

  • Hit a bucking pony?!? Oh the humanity! Come on people! I would smack that pony as well...maybe somewhere along the line he was given a reason to act like this but if it's not corrected...where do you think he is going to end up? This rider, by attempting to fix the behaviour, is giving this pony another chance. As for her hands, I'd like to see some of you naysayers get on and keep a soft hand when you're trying to get launched.

  • May I please use this in my horse mishaps video?

  • sorry no

  • After his concequence of gallopping forward he can slow back down and then if he behaves he gets to know that not bucking means less work. Do that a few times and soon he should have figured it out. We as riders like to pull on the rains as soon as we feel unsafe but try to turn off that impulse and be smart about what you teach your pony.

    Hope that helps.

  • Teach him that every time he misbehaves he has to work harder, such as gallop for even longer (FORWARD). The faster forward a horse goes the less he can jump (buck) upwards. Have you ever watched rodeo? Those horses buck mostly on the spot and the more they canter forward the less hard their bucking. ....(be continued in next post)

  • Yes you get his head up into the air so he doesn't put his head between his legs, but look at his lower neck, this must be going on for a long time since his lower neck muscle is fat as can be. (not in a good way, you want the upper neck to be strong) ....(be continued in next post)

  • If you want him to stop bucking and kicking you have to close your legs. Get him going, make him gallop use a long dressage whip, if even a whip, and get him moving from behind. If you yank him every time he tries to start he will slow down, be able to collect himself and you help him to buck even higher. ....(be continued in next post)

  • horses often buck in response to back pain. maybe she's too big for him? just a thought

  • That horse looks unbalanced. And he's not bucking, Thats a kick out. Before doing nay sort of jump with a horse, try getting him balanced first and teaching him to listen to the balance rein AND get him al ittle rouunded so the shoulders actually lift.

  • Thats terrible there are alot of things that are wrong about your riding. And I am not sorry I said that the poor pony and your Obvoisly really tall for him. You are a VERY aggresive rider and thats terrible.

  • Please Tell me you DIDNT hit the pony at 00:33 Seconds your really big for the pony . Your realy to. And you pull WAY to far back you pulled so hard his heas went swinging back. No Fricking kidding as to why the pony bucks You pull way to Fricking Hard Jeez!

  • this was the way the pony came to us. My daughter worked with him to stop this habit I will be posting the after video of him soon...

  • I think you are doing very well! Show that pony who's boss. It is not often that you can have an older child to train a pony that is why they are typically nasty like that. Or just no manners, really. It was a cool morning and ever time he would take a jump he would try and get you off balance. Great job!!!!!

  • You are a horribly agressive rider! You don't even give the pony a chance! Learn how to ride first before letting out your anger on a missunderstood and frustrated pony!

  • rider is pulling the horses mouth and hes objecting by kicking out. Mine does the same thing.

  • no she pulled so he couldn't buck bigger as he wants to put his head down and she didn't let him..

  • Usually carrying you hands higher so he cant get his head down to buck helps. If she feels him about to buck you could try and keep his head up possibly? Im just saying this from riding a similar pony who came 2 our stables with a bucking problem. they did lots of lunge work with him nd although people say not 2 use the whip, they did nd this taught him that bucking wasnt the answer nd eventually he was a nice pony that had a hidden talent for jumping.

  • ok i dont really wanna say this but im going to, U REAALLY NEED TO SORT UR RIDING OUT, u need to be softer with ur hands , stop using that crop and use ur legs !!!all i saw was u whiping him and yanking him in the mouth SORT IT OUT , and that saddle looks too big for him , u should get it checked. ur a great rider but u need to use ur legs not the whip and ease up wiv ur hands

  • try to be much more nicer to the horse's mouth, i think it plays a big part of why the horse buck. PLEASE ITS FOR THE HORSE'S SAKE!!

  • Ditto

  • ur a great rider and my horse does the exact same thing... it's a bad habit but she is getting really good with it.... she's gotten me off a few times..... but u were really good!!

  • wereallcrazynow you're a tool

that horse is bucking just because its not a hugeass rodeo buck doesnt mean its a pigroot.

  • does the saddle fit he probably has a sore back. my horse used 2 buck badly and then we got a new saddle and tada. well riden. i dont mean 2 b picky but im sick of people using the word buck when the horse is pigrooting bucking is when they gather themselved under and then explode out and they often stop going foward. excuse me if im wrong

  • i can assure you he bucks

  • wow. she was REALLY hard on that pony's mouth....more leg, less hand please. Is there an instructor around..??

  • you sent that message three times

  • the pony came as a bucker..watch our other videos to see her riding. thx

  • OMGG THIS IS SOO WEIRD my horse is called midnight and always bucks to haha x

  • I'd suggest a trainer to get him out of those habits.

The rider didn't look bad at all, and I'd probably have been off by the first 30 seconds.

The reins look tense though D:

  • Adorable pony with lots of energy! Your a great rider, just be careful about your hand. Try to stay soft. Otherwise, great job!

  • that pony is ADORIBLE :)))))) i am in love woth it, xcept 4 the bucking part though...... alexis has xtremely good posture.....lucky.... i have horible posture!!! great vid

  • omg, your pony is ADORABLE! so cute. you have good equ too! :]

  • YOU DON´T SLOW DOWN THE PONY WHEN IT´S BUCKING! you take´s your hands higer and yuse your legs! AND Don´t ride with that kind of hard hand! It only hirts the pony!

    GOT IT?!?

  • she needed to stop him as he would have bucked her off. Have you GOT it!!! check the other videos we have.

  • Loser you can NOT ride.

  • I just checked you don't have one video posted of your riding hmmm. I guess you suck! Anyhow she has many more videos of her riding I guess you didn't look at any of them.

  • is this to me? i don't think so, look @ my videos, there am i riding.. maja if it was to me: i have nohing mean angry :)

  • no it's not to u

  • she got a broken back.....YEAH !

  • Cute pony.

Guessing it bucks 'cos it gets excited.

  • Aye yai yai.

  • jeetje what is that Amazon unfriendly! :S do not have draw them but correctly forward! forward, forward, forward!!!!!!!! only forward! stopper with that appetites, it is aimlessly and it does the pony pain. I do not mean this angry! I wants only help! Gr me

  • Hi I can't really understand what you are saying?

  • yeah, sorry about that:( forget it :P babelfish is not "easy" to translate the words ;)

  • god everyones taking as though they're fucking specialists they're probally 12 years old! leave the pony and rider alone, i thought she did a good job! cute pony :)

  • thanks!

  • That's not bucking the pony is just kicking out it's back legs nothing wrong with that

  • Ok.

  • Part 2 -(lol not aloud 2 many words :P). If everything else is ok it may be behaveural, if he does a buck, start turning a circle, keep going and make the circle smaller each time. This makes it harder for them 2 buck and most horses+ponys don't like this so he will then associate bucking with somthing not nice

  • hi we know about the tight circles we do work with a profession she is on my utube as well. Have a look at our other riding videos thanks

  • 1-Leaning forwards all the time.

2-The girl is slightly too big for the pony(not ment to sound rude).

3-The pony may be in pain.

Some help- Go try and make your postition better. If this doesn't work your pony may be in pain. Whilst grooming check his body all over sqeezing and pressing areas ( not too hard.) Also get someone to check the tack fits

  • she worked with the pony for six months and got him to stop bucking smaller riders off. He was suppose to be for our younger girl but he was to dangerous for her to ride. I will post a more recent video of them jumping around. The recently got champion at our local english show in the pony division. He is now on Vancouver Island with a new child riding him.

  • Can I use your video for my horse film?

  • hi my daughter said NO, sorry.

  • hes just kickin up.

    haha, cuteee pony though.

  • Oh yer i just looked at the date hehe.... sorry! She looks like an awsome rider just needed to learn how to ride that pony! what other videos do u have of her riding him?

  • no but if he comes back we will do another video. She got him to the point that he didn't buck but he still did once and awhile.

  • OMG poor little horse!! you really need to get of his mouth... and if he only bucks when your jumping him then DONT! if he isnt bucking when your riding him normal then jumping is obviously hurting him. i dont want to sound mean but thats what i can see ;)

I think you also need someone expericed to come out and teach you how to ride him properly!

Anyways goodluck with with it! He/she is cute :)

  • that was a while ago now he is much better as he realized that bucking is not going to get her off..she rides quite nice look at the other videos we have..

  • maybe he just enjoys jumping and is into it, the girl can ride quite well

  • He bucks after the jumps cause she is always on his mouth after the jump and he may not like the crop on him or has a sore back

  • One-Rein Stops help too, instead of practically laying down to pull back on too-long reins. Instead, take one rein, and pul your pony's head to your toes. Since he'll be going in a tight circle, he won't be able to buck.

  • The reason he wouldn't like you sitting back would be pain...As he has a sway back it could be that. Get a chiro & check saddle fit. He doesn't look like he's doing it out of naughtiness. Goolduck :)

  • thanks

  • u can't sit back he doesn't like it..oh yeah he has a sway back

  • hmm you need to sit back...maybe try an instructors help

  • Also wanted to add that if you want to correct this problem, your best bet is to give him a couple days off, and then do a few rides of bareback walking, properly collected, and if you can, some "stretchy walk" (asking the pony to reach out into the bridle and strtch out his back muscles.) I bet you he will be a different pony!

  • Actually, to me is does look like he is in pain. You can see how when he trots around, he is all hollowed out, neck inverted, as if he is trying to evade some back pain. My guess is the saddle fit, as most ponies can easily carry 150 pounds of balanced rider.

  • and he buck after a jump...

  • I agree with everafter since she was the first one who said anything about the lead change thing. It definatley is jus kicking out from the lead change.

Good Job for pointing that out everafter, atleast someone on here actually knows what they are talking about!

  • watch her ride other horses we have other videos posted. The pony is not bucking anymore now that he found out it doesn't get this rider off him. SO I think we won that battle..and maybe the war lol.

  • As well as the problem with the pony finding his lead - watch the part where she jumps the close cross fence ! they get the stride wrong rider gets infront of the movement and jabs poor pony in the mouth! and you think this pony bucks? wanna meet my lil lad! some ponys enjoy it! shows spirit!! :) try asking the pony to drop his head and work a bit rather than running round like a donkey! take his mind off the bucking!

  • Well from what iv'e seen your daughter? is it ... is far to heavy with her hands and needs to concentrate on getting her leg aids straight. The pony seems a little green/inexperienced to and could definatly do with some schooling on the flat to help him get his leads sorted rather on relying on the rider to much!

  • A lot of ponys buck because of bad balance

the pony i used to ride bucked quite a lot (not as much as that though), and a lot of the time it was simply because he wasn't very balanced which made him buck to help get back in balacne

    xxx

  • the pony is trying to change leads. not get her off, and he's not in pain. you should do some canter flat work to work on some lead changes. once he knows how to do that, then you can go back to canter courses w/lead changes. hope it helps.

  • The pony was from one of the local coaches she told our coach to try it for us but that it like lighter sized kids. So we tried my 9 year old on him he bucked really big with her I thought she was going to fly off lucky she didn't. We told the other coach and she said that it came back that way after it's last lease. He is a pure welsh pony very sweet and cute but a bucker. He isn't doing it as much lately!!

  • Curious what is his breeding? - he is cute as a bug...Did the owner say he was doing well before she leased him out? (of course that's what they all say) but it's possible the lessor did some damage. Have you found a pony for your younger daughter - Your 13yo rides very well. Pony shopping is tough!!!

  • and no, the pony is not in pain!!

  • if you watch the video, the only times i saw him kick out was when he was on the wrong lead after a jump and he was kicking out to do a lead change. My pony used to do the same thing. But if your daughter? i think it is, keeps pulling him back when he does it, the pony is going to learn that everytime he kicks out for a lead change,

  • i slowed the video down so it looks like that was longer than it was. What do you expect her to do if the pony is bucking and a loose rein!! she has to stop him or she will fly off. look again at the video she has no contact on the reins until he bucks. she is riding english not western.

  • she isn't pulling i was filming the rein was loose to contact only when he bucks as she wants him to stop! she does lead changes and yes we know he does a little buck but not when he is bucking verticly... she doesn't want to end up on the ground that pony isn't for her she has a horse it's suppose to be for my younger daughter and she would last a min on him. I don't own him.

  • well let's all hope for a bright futre and not for slaughter!

  • HI thanks for the input but this pony bucks on a loose rein. He must have something wrong with him so he is going back to his owner. The owner said when the pony came back from being leasted out he He must have something wrong with him so he is going back to his owner. My daughters coach wants him to go back so... off he goes...

  • He might have a stifle problem or problems with his hocks if he's a jumper. Get a vet down to examine him and see if he has either of those. My horse i just sold had a stifle problem

  • get a saddler to check his saddle, maybe hes in pain? well sat anyway!

  • we will if the lady that owns him lets us.

  • I know I am going to but she needs to tell me he is ours for sure...

  • give him a home or he will be slaughtered

  • HI he is on trial so i don't own him. The owner doesn't want him. So I guess he will end up a field ornament.

  • why dont u sell him hes danger

  • lol very funny if I give him more rein he puts his head down and will buck me off... he is a bucker HELLO
