  • I wish i had a copy of this.

  • the second most important funeral in human history after King Tut.

  • LMAO i think you missed a few people

  • people absolutely adored diana she was fabulous. all these haters, ive no respect for people who bad mouth the dead. princess diana was a lovely person and shame on you all that are trying to be smart. go watch another video and we'll diss you wen you die huh?

  • still sad to watch after all these years, guess its understandable since its estimated 2.5 billion people watched this funeral

  • wow all this hatred on this posting...leave it for somewhere else ...just go away

  • I AGREE! It's sad that lowly trash must exist among eternal beauty. Just plan sad.

  • oh my god..this makes me (even) prouder to be english.........

  • Winston Churchill's funeral was about one thousandth as pompous as this thing. All he did was save the Western world from Nazism. All Diana did was get some photo ops at AIDS hospices. Go figure.

  • Completely agree, the royals were right in that an altogether more low-key affair would be more fitting for a woman that could not escape the media, not even in death.

The modern memory of Diana Spencer is warped beyond all recognition of reality.

  • I know what you mean. And anyway, as soon as someone dies, everyone loves them/even worships them.

  • You don't seem to grasp the fact that this is what her people wanted..the people who loved her. It repesented an acknowlegement from the Royal Family that she was truly held in high regard. If they'd had their way, they'd have probably left her to be buried in France. Unless you're really a Brit, you have no way of understanding how we felt about her.

  • This is very upsetting. I hope there were no unstable people trying to get to the Princess' coffin.

  • you mean nutters?

  • i remember when she died i was only 5 and the only thing i rememberd was the song Candle in the Wind

  • I still wish that someone has some clips of the "CBS News Coverage" of this.

  • and in such a public way may i add

  • i truley horrible for harry and william no one should lose a perant like that ... no one

  • the last funeral procession of english royal family in the 20th century.

  • Well British Royal Family would be more appropriate, as she was Princess of Wales and the Queen was at Balmoral.

  • so quiet, i can't quite remember the last time the country as a whole had love for somebody on such as scale. it looked like such a beautiful day weather wise as well, rest in peace diana

  • I remember these moments so vivdly. My family and I woke up at three in the morning to watch this peaceful yet sad and somber day take fold in London. In my heart, watching this take place, I knew that I would someday make it to London and rewalk the steps of where the carriage travelled. I did, 8 years later. I wish she were still here, my obsession for London has never left me.

  • well i reckon everyone felt sad as not just welsh because she was everyones princess and she was the queen of everyones heart....

  • I think everyone around the world took it just as bad as the english people. The united States loved her just the same.

  • Welsh people took it especially bad as she was their Princess.

  • and were still not over it

  • She was their princess through her marriage to Charles only, she herself was not Welsh in the slightest.

  • I question the date of her death Aug. 31st 1997, and here her divorce was finalized Aug. 28 1996. What is that exactly one year later? plus minus 2 days? Wiki claims she got a setlement of 17 mil form the div. but was not able to discuss the details. I wonder if she actually got to collect it all or if they killed her before some legal date? So weird. So sad.

  • It was 31 August 1997, one year and three days after the divorce and I believe she collected the money from the settlement.

I take issue with your assertion "they killed her". It disturbs me that so many people think this way when mere common sense, and (two thorough police investigations undertaken in free world countries) tells you that it was an accident as it's impossible to set up something of such complexity and involving so many people like as is regretfully alleged.

  • I agree. Especially when unfortunately its not like a car accident with fatalities is a rare thing in the free world, particularly with speeding, no seatbelts and alcohol involved.

  • i don't think it's appropriate to discuss monetary settlements on a video regarding Princess Diana's funeral. it's in poor taste

  • I agree. I think it shows in highly improper taste. Talking of someone's values in dollars and cents is a horrible disrespect to Lady Diana's honor.

  • Pounds and pence, surely???

  • I meant Pounds and Pence,But being American I indavertently wrote dollars and cents.

  • That's OK, thanks for your comment.

  • The card that Prince Harry wrote mummy on just broke my heart.

  • what was in the card do you know?

  • It wasn't a card that you open.

  • It just said "Mummy" - and that's exactly what she was to her boys.

  • yspeedyn, I agree 100%- I found that card was the most poignant touch, in the midst of all the formal ceremeony, the simplicity of it broke my heart

  • i don't understand why they did not have an open casket. Princess Grace and Pavarotti both had open caskets.

  • Might be because it was an Anglican service. As far as I know, only Roman Catholic services in Christianity have the remains unconcealed.

  • my aunt was anglican and hers was open so i dont think thats the reason maybe her face was damaged

  • very possibly. I'm only speaking from personal experience.

  • i think that makes more sense. i mean, it was a car crash, after all

  • The only thing I constantly get to is the bell of the Abbey. Incredible spooky.

  • RIP XxX

  • she helped millions in their need. now we help her

  • |Do they open the coffin at all? In my culture the coffins are always open during funerals.

  • omg skidaddle84 you can shut up! Diana was a great person! What are you just anti-Diana or anti-British?

  • I'll make it clear for you: DIANA MOURNERS damage the gene pool. Now go and get yourself sterilised

  • Diana mourners damage the gene pool

  • That's an awful lot of Gene-Rape right thar.

  • She is in a better place: heaven.

  • The crowd shot from 1:04 - 1:14 really drive home the pain so many felt that day. It's one of those "If a picture speaks a thousand words" moments.

  • Rest in peace Diana.

  • it's so unjust that such a good soul had to die so young

  • do you have the video documentary diana: the shrine?

  • Don't know it, sorry. Might be elsewhere on the internet, have you tried googling it?

  • shes away from harm now,no one can hurt her ever again, may she rest in peace for ever more....that bell sends a wave of sickness through me everytime it tolls :o(

  • I was crying when i watch this on tv 10 years ago, now I cry again.

  • Well I hope I haven't upset you too much...

  • I remember the night that the Princess' death was announced in America. Saturday night...went straight home from a party and watched the news all night long. Cried myself to sleep only to wake up only after a few hours and watched the news incessantly. As a 13 yr old boy I got up in the middle of the night and watched her get married in 1981 (still have my local paper from July 1981). Heartbreaking...she did so much for the disenfranchised.

  • It breaks my heart all over again to hear the crowd of people crying! It is like watching the funeral all over again, ten years ago!

  • That bell!
