Nice project! Instead of bringing the ski runners CLOSER together, did you consider spreading them apart for a wider stance? I figure that might offer greater stability. Great work!
Hello Rarebikes88,we are creating a prototype of a project entituled Snowtrott, based on a track drive-ski scooter. But we haven't any idea, how to make the track.
How have you done it ? have you got some plans ? Thank you for answering =)
@DarkWolfSeven The track drive is off a snowblower and i belive they still make them. Call any mower shop and see if they have used ones? or check ebay, craigslist?
@DarkWolfSeven Ok, now i have the chassis and the engine, but for the track drive i'll have some problems to fix it... o_O Havn't you got some plans ?
@DarkWolfSeven i had an idea how to build a track out of old tires and chaines. you take like an old winter tire or something, cut it into sections width ways. then you llay them out, bolt a chain to it.
I built one of these along time ago using a craftsman snowblower track and a kitty kat ski. Would go good on hard pack but not thru the powder. Its nice to see that others have creativity also.
I built one out of my old minibike-i put screws in the rear duel-tires and hand crafted a ski out of 2x4s. it runs but is very slow. Thanks for the idea!
Im looking to make something similar, Im having trouble though finding a a track/tread system off a snowblower(I live in Arizona, aka desert), i'd be looking to spend a hundred bucks, I was wondering if you might be able to point me in a good direction
hi ill buy it or can you please tell me how to build the rear track system?? please!!! i realy want to build one and if you want you can send me a private message
hey i am trying to make my mini bike in to one of those, did you have to do any changes to the frame to make the track work? what size motor would be the best?
so i was wondering cause im making a mini bike in short time. so do you need the tourqe-a-verter or can you just go off the straight chain and have a centrifugal clutch. cause this is sweet im going to try to make it. also is there anything thats hidden in the track to keep it on or is it just held on by luck.
well if you have a big enough motor you could just use a centrifugal clutch, and if you can find a old snowblower with the track system you'll see how it stays on. there are grovesit rides in.
never had a problem with the track at all is actually adjustable so you can tighten it up, and it doesnt really corner sharp but i didnt really try to, so? i did sel it on ebay and am building another one.
Where can I get a tire like that?
